WM has always done prices that end in 8, it's not just to beat somebody by 1 cent. 8 stands for something, like regular price. then it will end in a different number for clearance, a different number if it's about to be clearanced. That's how you tell if you should buy something or wait 2 weeks until it's on clearance

Westinghouse makes GREAT monitors. The quality is excellent, and it will last just as long as any other monitor made. The only monitor better is the syncmaster. They have lower response times than their big name brand counterparts, and can ALWAYS be found cheaper at regular prices.

The BF movies will have the same UPC codes as the ones in-store now. They ring up at BF prices because the system is programmed to change prices at certain times. The same reason if you go buy a PS3 on the 17th, they'll tell you they "can't" ring it up until 12am, and they actually can't, the software will update at 12am, so in some cases it won't ring up until 12:02. The UPC codes on items are printed AT THE MANUFACTURER. The store has nothing to do with it, they just get the bar codes from the Mfr. and put them in their system. Movie studios don't make different bar codes for the same movies....unless they are in a 2 pack, there may be a sticker on the plastic wrap. If something is made for WM/BB etc. they will make a new upc, but the product will be changed in some way. My WM sold 3 colors of SP's last year, red, silver and black, about 6 days before BF, all remaining SP's magically disappeared...... Just like BB this year, Westinghouse 22" LCD $199, I went today, they have at least 30 of every other lcd monitor, but all the 22" westinghouse's vanished......

720 and 1080 are the lines of resolution, the more lines, the better the picture. IMO the only way to buy a plasma is to go somewhere like best buy/circuit city and see them side by side, play with all the features (especially brightness/contrast), pick the model you like best, then start searching for the best price :)

Last year at target, they had carts flipped over and lined up from the 1 door that was going to be open, and went all the way down the side of the building. It was the first time I had seen it, no cutting, no 14 friends jumping out of a van at the last second. It worked GREAT. I have since personally talked to the manager of every BF store I've been in and suggested it. I have even emailed corporate offices of BB,CC and WM. Haven't even gotten a form letter response, but hopefully somebody will listen. Has anybody else seen a better way to do things on BF and suggested it to somebody that can do something about it?

so far only 3 hours, but this year at BB I'll be going at 8pm the night before, and I don't even want any of the doorbusters! They are all on the fri/sat sale 22" monitor, $99 video card and JVC Mini DV $159 will all be in short supply and very hot and will all go very fast so I'm not taking any chances, the monitor alone is $300 off

Have no fear, you will be able to install and run vista, you'll just have to disable all the bells and whistles (shadows, slide effects, etc.) but these do nothing but look pretty, so I don't know why people have them on anyways.

I usually go to my mothers in michigan (muskegon) for Thanksgiving, the stores there are in the worst configuration in the country. At on intersection you have, the 2 year old mall. On the 2nd corner you have Menards, Circuit City, Best Buy and Red Lobster. The 3rd corner of the intersection is TRU, Barnes & Noble, Old Navy and kohls. the road is 4 lane, it would take maybe 8 minutes to walk from the the furthest to stores. 1 exit on the highway, last year I went about 2 am, it took 45 minutes to go the last 2 miles in blowing snow, I think they said it snowed 6 inches from 2am to 5am (lake effect from lake michigan). The only saving grace is the nearest WM is 4 miles away :)

Isn't technology great? I paid $300 for my SD400 about 6 months ago and just got that printer a month ago for $99....

I asked the store manager here about the 15 day return, he said all I have to do is bring the receipt back before 30 days and get it PM'd. I would think it would be a corporate policy, but it appears each store is different. But in either case it has to be the EXACT same laptop, which it will not be.

I may be getting old and jaded, but I say, if you use "revolving" people to keep 1 spot in line, that's what you get, 1 spot. If you have people waiting in the car, they can enter the store after every single person that has been in line all night. The best solution is get to know everybody around you, after all, you'll be with them long enought to equal 3 months of dating :) At least you'll know to expect 16 people to jump out of the VW bug and jump ahead of you and what they are planning on buying. If you have to get nasty, do it! Just pretend you're at the DMV and have been in line for 4 hours :) The police have NO authority in a BB parking lot, unless you break the law, which "cutting" in line is not! It is up to the employees to do crowd control.

It has either 3x or 4x optical zoom. I don't know what kind of camera it is, but 98% of digitals have 3x or 4x. Anything over that is going to cost minimum $299

very disappointed, I need two of the video cards but for $10 more I can go to BB and not wait for $220 rebates that may or may not ever show up ......

I can't bring myself to do it when there are 2 other great services that are absolutely free. They require everyone to buy the $30-$60 phone but everyone I want to call, I either buy them the phone or they get it.

Westinghouse makes good monitors! This is a great case of the "little guy" competing with big business (I know they aren't little, but relatively new to monitors). everything Ross said plus they have lower response times than their 'insert favorite brand' counterparts.
