  1. I wouldn't do it. I have never preordered or rainchecked from them but a buddy has 3 times (xbox 360 release, ps3, and halo3). He ended up getting them ALL long after other stores had them in stock and collecting dust. Basicly you have to get the raincheck/preorder and then stand in line just like bf the night before they are to get them because they OVERSELL!!!!
  2. NOT true. Most Wii games are 480i or 480p, you may not have the component video cables. And as most people will tell you, the difference between 480p and 720p is negligible.
  3. The chatnow slide communicators are on clearance here $35....hmmm
  4. Oh yes there are! There was a 10 minute piece on the local news, almost every store in lincoln and omaha are charging restocking fees this year...
  5. Haven't seen an ad. They aren't doing any sales or ad's because they don't need to. They bring in almost $1 Billion a DAY worldwide. No matter how much they cry their sales are down, they are still well above the profit mark. It is hurting the workers though, who get stocks/bonuses based on the % increase in sales over the same month last year.
  6. Read this and all your questions will be answered: http://promotions.amazon.com/gp/holiday.html//ref=cu_vo_hp_htw_htb/103-4757026-0903824?ie=UTF8&id=cv/buyingtips&tag2=10108121979-20 1 per customer. once you get the code, you have 12 or 24 hours to checkout.
  7. The classic controllers come in handy if you play gamecube games on the Wii. But if you have a gamecube controller, that will plug into it too. You can also turn the Wiimote sideways and use it as a regular controller.

    Story on WM

Here's the story : Straight from corporate memos. WM is not trying to cater to wealthier customers. This was started almost a year ago (nothing to do with BF or Holiday sales) They stated they will start carrying better name brands, computer components (cpu chips/motherboards etc.), name brand electronics. Only in about 70% of the markets they are in. Only to compete with the stores that are already there. If there is a Best Buy and a Toys R Us in the same strip mall, they will go high end electronics and better toy selection at THAT particular store. If there is a Sears and a Macys in the same strip mall, they'll go higher-end tools (and a lot more of them) and name brand clothing at THAT particular store. etc. etc. etc. There were corporate memos (more the size of books) passed all the way down the chain stating theses changes between 10-12 months ago. It is starting, but very slowly. I say, good! If I can get the same quality tools as craftsman, or the same 50" tv I can get at Best buy but a bit cheaper at WM, I win!
  9. I got every single thing online this year (didn't need a tv or laptop). It sucked! I'm going back out in the cold next year!
  10. And remember they did the laptop early (Nov. 5th)
  11. The Wii will have all the same games (except the franchise games, i.e. Halo) BUT, they won't start coming out regularly until June of next year, I'd go with the 360. By next christmas you can get a Wii a little cheaper and there will be a lot more games for it.

    PS3

LOL not dogging you, but Circuit City does NOT have "computer experts". They get all their knowledge from the same book the people have when you call tech support or a help desk. If they had the technical knowledge to "analyze" the cell processor, they would be making around $300k a year, not $8/hour at circuit city. The PS3 will have flaws, as does any new system, but I haven't heard about any major ones yet. Thank you though, that's the best laugh I've had in a week :) CC experts.....
  13. Tigerdirect.com has the ACER Aspire A5601AWLMI for $599 after $185 rebates Core Duo T2050 1.6GHz 512 MB DDR2 (1 stick for easy upgrade) 100GB hard drive DVD +-RW 15.4" WXGA 8 Cell battery! (4.5 hours) Windows XP Media Center 2MB Cache Must be purchased by 11/30 to get rebates. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2714958&Tab=0&NoMapp=0
  14. I don't know where you've been, but 90% of the stock from EVERY store is from china. At least WM has Sam's choice brand stuff, made in the USA!
  15. Was it new? They usually are packed very well from the factory in the original box
  16. I use these (from walmart) $2 I think, the house is littered with them, last awhile too. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000GAUZTA/dealtime-tools-20/ref=nosim
  17. I've never had trouble, everything has always been packaged very well. Amazon is a different story.....
  18. There were big pink signs haning on every checkout that said "We pricematch!" Nothing missing from the store. MIL said it is up to the store manager, our store only PM's stores up to 45 miles away and we're lucky they do that because there is NO local competition.
  19. If I got there a day early and there were 20 empty chairs in front of me, they'd be in the middle of the parking lot in a second.
  20. We went through all this last year with the wooden blocks in the laptop box. Why do people still not check their boxes AT the store? Because until you open that box, that's what you are paying for is a cardboard box. Do people still leave fast food drive thru's before they check to see if the order is correct? I know I don't and that's only $5-$15!
  21. You are too nice! :) I apply the same rule I use when food is on the floor, 5 seconds and It's mine!
  22. I JUST got home and they still had a LOT of every single thing except the computers and only 2 of the 998 plasma. I'm assuming nothing was very popular? I mean literally over half a palette of everything in the ad.
  23. The X1600 is only slightly better (100mhz on the core clock), they can both be used in dual mode (If you get 2 and your computer supports it, Crossfire and SLI). However, in tech circles, EVGA is THE best brand of video card by far, so it's a coin flip. Either will work great for any program out there. The X1600 has rebates, but they are both great prices, you won't see lower for at least 6 months. There is nothing wrong with buying computer parts at a retail store, if they have the best prices, go for it, they are the same exact cards you'll get anywhere online, and actually, if you're not careful you may end up with an OEM card from newegg or tigerdirect, (no cables/manual/box).
