  1. Why is the BB deal better? They are both the same price, $34.99.
  2. Go to www.crucial.com and run their configuration utility. It will tell you exactly want kind of memory you have already, and what kind you can use.
  3. The file size on the Walmart one is HUGE. It will take awhile for it to download and load. While it's doing it, it will look like your computer is frozen. But it you do the CTRL/ALT/DEL and look at the networking tab, you should see network activity showing it's being downloaded.
  4. Not bad, but I like the HP Office Depot has tomorrow better, although it has rebates ($110)... 17" 4GB RAM 64 bit Vista. I posted the full specs in the offline deals section....
  5. Depending on what you want in a laptop, OD has this one going on sale tomorrow (sunday) for $489.99 AR. 17" Screen 4GB Ram AMD TUrion X2 TL-60 Dual Core 250GB Hard Drive Webcam CD/DVDRW with lightscribe Windows Vista 64 bit. Model DV9999, OD item number 894065
  6. Walmart for TV, crock pot, and a couple other things Sam's club for breakfast and the Wii Fit Radio Shack for the noise blanking headphones Harbor Freight Final plans and lists not ready until Thursday...
  7. True, Very true. Newegg is my favorite online technology store...
  8. Now that most of the ads are out, I can say that I'm really underwhelmed by the ads this year. Some of the things I was looking for are either missing altogether or very poor selections: 1. Almost no networking gear...am looking for a wireless-N USB adaptor. 2. A 22" computer monitor. 3. The middle range laptops...$500-$700. 4. One thing for DW @ at of all places Harbor Freight. There were a couple bright spots... Sam's Club Wii Fit (plus a free breakfast). The ink cartridge deal @ Costco. A couple items @ Radio Shack. I didn't see much else that I'd be willing to lose sleep over or stand for a long time in line in the cold. So it looks like it will be a quick strike, and home in time for a turkey sandwich for lunch.
  9. If it was an item available in the store, why didn't you walk back the the computer area, go out to the CC website, and buy it with instore pickup? Available in 24 minutes, you would have gotten the TV you wanted, and could thumb your nose at the sales manager. I agree, you shouldn't have had this happen, and a call or letter to corporate is probably warranted.
  10. Gotta agree with the majority of the people...a real letdown on the ad. I was hoping to find a 22" LCD monitor for a good price, and not a single one that big listed. Looking more and more like it will be a sleep in morning.
  11. Horrible timing on their part. Since the majority of thier best deals are in conjunction with a rebate, I will have to think long and hard about whether to risk a better deal there with a rebate or pay more somewhere else without one. If I'm not the only one thinking this way, it could really hurt their holiday sales. It's too bad they have sunk this low. I really like CC. I've actually bought more high ticket items there (65" projection TV, laptop, and desktop) there than at BB, as at least in the case of the computers, theirs were slightly better specs for the same price.
  12. Looks like they are staying in Utah. All 5 stores still listed on the website.
  13. 3.5 cu ft is about the largest you get with a top load machine, but is rather small by front load standards. If you have king size bedding, you should get a 3.7 or 4.0 cu ft one.
  14. Actually, Layaways probably are money pits for retailers. 1. It takes employees and space to run layaway. The small layaway fees don't even come close to covering the costs. 2. Layaways are cancelled. If this is done after a certain time, then the retailer loses...if it's after the appropriate season, then it's clearance time for the items, if they can even be moved at all. 3. From an accounting perspective, they can't actually book the sale and revenue until the layaway is paid in full and the item is picked up.
  15. Go back and tell them. Honesty is always the best policy.
  16. The lightweight one I bought is still going strong. Gets used on the steps and small areas.
  17. Leave the house around 3:00, usually have to make an unloading stop at home around 10:00, then back out for another couple of hours. Usually home for a nap about 2:00pm
  18. A few years ago we looked into it, and DW and I decided to go with the Sleep Number bed instead. There were a couple reasons... First, I like a harder bed than she does. Second, I'm a big guy. On the Tempurpedic, I sunk so far into the foam that I had a heck of a time rolling over. Last, the sleep number bed was cheaper.
  19. $99 GPS. Ordered 6:06am EST. Order number 91777860XX. Received apologies. The order got cancelled for out of stock:mad:

    Navigon 2100

I posted this in another thread too, but thought it should be repeated here...if you ordered one online, if I were you I'd check the status, as I'd gotten a printed confirmed order too. I was online and ordered at 4AM MST (6AM EST)... My earlier elation over getting the Navigon 2100 online at Staples appears to be premature. Got home and decided to see if they had updated my delivery date, and saw that the order total was $0.00. Called to ask "WTH" and was politely told that they were sold out and sorry. I explained that I had a copy of my order confirmation, and that I'd gotten a preliminary ship date of 11/30 but to no avail. "Sorry..." So sent then a very "not so nice" email telling them that if I thought that was going to happen, I would have been at a B&M to get one. In fact, the reason I didn't go to Staples until later was driven by the fact that nothing else I wanted was an earlybird. I did leave them the option open to satisfy me by offering a 5100 for a comparable discount.

Other than that, got everything else I was looking for: Ace: Hand tools for $1.99 AR 2 Ionic Air purifiers ($69 ea) Staples: Lightscribe DVDs and CDs Motorola Bluetooth $14.99 AR Photo Paper AAFES (BX/PX) MS Office 2007 Pro Military Appreciation ($69.99) and used a $20 off on it Wally World: 2 of the $25 Vacuums (one for my DD's business) The Circut machine Some of the $5 lounge pants for me :) Not bad...but would have been perfect if Staples hadn't screwed my online order.
  22. Snagged a $99 Navigon GPS from Staples online at 3:55 MST. Should be here in a week. SWEET! Now it's off to the races.....
  23. I just tried...Amazon must be sold out, but it says that one ships from Target.
  24. Well, I went into the store last night and bought that HP OfficeJet 7580 that's going to be on sale for $99 (2 day, not doorbuster). Right now it's $254. Before I did, I asked David, the "head geek" in electronics, if with all the holiday promotions coming they would honor their normal 30 day price guarantee, and he said yes. I specifically asked about the BF ad, (trying not to sound like I already knew it was going to be on sale), and he said yes, the only stipulation was that if it was a "limited time" offer you had to come in while the offer was valid to get the adjustment. Being the skeptic I am, I'm not opening it until after I get the price adjustment, just in case that wasn't the truth and I have to actually return it.

    Coupon on BF

They should accept it, but pay attention to the bolded print at the beginning of the second paragraph. "Markdowns taken from regular prices." Doesn't mean it won't work if they scan it, but if it doesn't, you don't have much of a leg to stand on if the TV you want is "on sale" already. You may wait a long time in line to go home empty handed if you won't buy it without the coupon.
