You can add Lowe's to the list...at least my local Lowe's does.

netflix or blockbuster for online rental?
ObiRich replied to kyndig1's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Contrary to what most people here are saying, I like the BLockbuster online deal. I get plenty of movies, and I really like the 2 per month free instore rentals for the newest releases. I have had a couple of DVD quality issues, and but they usually get resolved quickly. -
Anyone recieve any rebates yet from Black Friday?
ObiRich replied to skytrain's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Got a $30 CC rebate last week, and $120 of Staples rebates today. :woot2: -
Just visited their website yesterday looking, and still no list there.

The nearest CompUSA is about 35 miles away, so I get their ads via email and not in the local paper. Got an email yesterday announcing their "Midnight Madness" sale on Sunday from 8AM-Midnight. The mail had thumbnails of the ad (net even close to readable, but there's no links in the mail for it, and no mention of it on the website either. Is that dumb or what???

Doubt it, but you can try. Generally, nobody will PM instore deals that are advertised only in the internet. Pretty sure the BB policy says that it has to be in stock at the competitor, and when they call and find out (assuming you got past the internet portion), and they find out it's not in stock, they'd deny it then. But nothing says you can't try...

Depending on your budget, a PDA can do double duty as a GPS navigator also. I have a Garmin iQue 3600, and use it a lot when travelling. Not only do I have all me address book info, but plug in an address and get turn by turn instructions on how to get there. Most PDAs have add on modules for GPS, but with the Garmins they are integrated. For less than you'll pay for a standalone GPS, you can get the benefits of both a PDA and GPS.

Ok. I get tired of hearing people ragging on WM for various reasons that are mainly undeserved. First, the low pay. Here's 2 personal experiences. My wife works for WM, and has been there for awhile. She currently makes $13+ an hour stocking shelves. She's not management, she's a shelf stocker. She is full time, has health benefits available (not taken because I'm retired military), as are about 60% of the employees in her Supercenter (450 or so). Second, I was going through a job search a few months ago. I applied for full time at various retailers, including Shopko and Kohl's. Got offers from both of them; 15-20 hours PT a week, $6.50 an hour. WM here starts at between $7.50-$8.00. Even everyone's sweetheart, Target, starts at $6.50 an hour here. Plus the Kohl's I was at only has 14 full time employees (read benefits eligible) in the whole store! Second, it really bugs me to hear about WM running the little guy out. If they do, it's because the little guy thinks they can continue doing business the way they have forever. Lots of small businesses thrive when WM moves in. A friend of ours owns an jewelry store. He recently moved from where he's been for years to a strip mall next door to a Super WM. Why? More visibility, more traffic, and since the line of jewelry he carries is far superior to what WM has, they really don't compete. There's a saying...those who don't change become extinct. That's the case of small businesses and WM. Yes, they can't compete head to head on pricing, but they can easily find a niche market and thrive. Overall, I think that WM does deserve some of the bad press they get. However, the vast majority they don't. Being the biggest retailer, they make the biggest target, and the media seems to have a decidedly biased view of them. One of the local stations here did a story of a woman that alledgedly had her purse stolen in a local WM. Nobody saw what happened, but the woman's daughter found it in a cart being pushed around by 2 other women. She asked security and the manager to confront them, and they wouldn't as they did not see it. The cops showed up, and the two "thieves" had ditched the purse, but led the cops to where it was. The cops let them go. The media made a really big deal over the fact that the manager and security didn't intervene. Well, since they didn't witness it, they had no legal basis to. Also, in today's world, a confrontation could have led to a shootout in a crowded store. But the media here really played it up. Well, enough of a rant. I just think that there's way too much undeserved nagative press about WM.

They are awesome! To get them, all you do is go to the website, put in the receipt number and the promotion ID, and click, you're done. No copying receipts and UPCs, no mailings, and no 37 cent stamps. Wish everyone's rebates were this easy.

Got the Kodak CD43 (4MP, 3x Optical) and the Series 3 printer dock bundle @ Staples, $199. The printed dock alone goes for more than $100. Can't say how much I like it...it's for my dad.

I just ordered the Philips DV642 from them and couldn't find the rebate form. Emailed their customer service, and they sent me a link to it. Alternatively, go to the manufacturer's website and look for it there.

Staples

Have to agree that Staples was a good place to BF shop this year. I was there in line a little after 4:30, and was like number 25-30. About 5:40, the manager and a couple of employees came out and started to hand out tickets for the limited items. Could have scored one of their laptops if I'd wanted it. Got everything on my list. The only bad karma was the checkout lines were sooooo slow. I was in line by 6:20, and it took me until 8:00 to get out of there. That plus they wouldn't PM CC's price on the HP PSC 2610 (Staples price after rebate was still higher than CC's before rebate). Oh well, I still scored everything I went there for. PS. That $20 DVD burner is actually a LiteOn, and takes LiteOn's firware updates. Pretty sweet!
-
I bought the Cyberhome one from WM that was $68 no rebates. It's basically a LiteOn with a different nameplate. I too bought it as an afterthought, and not sure how I'll use it since I already have DVRs. But I'm sure I can figure something out!

Can't remember, but if the laptop has an AMD processor, then that might be right. AMD is able to get more performance out of their processors than Intel does, and market them different. For example, My wife's computer is an AMD Athlon 1700+. But the actual mhz are 1100. But it performs at the same level as an Intel P4 1700.

I checked at 2 of my local Walmarts to see if they carried that kodak c360 camera and neither of them did. Can't PM that.

According to the scanned ad, the items on the front page (including the hard drive) are valid instore only.

Every "same-as-cash" offers I've ever taken advantage of always required payments during the "same-as" period, and most of them required rather large payments, e.g. 6 months=6 payments, 3 months=3 payments.
-
We bought a big screen from CC with a 24 months no interest a couple years ago. It was just like a regular credit card payment...minimum paymet due was like $30 a month. But to pay the balance off in 24 months, you needed to be paying like $110 a month. The idea is to "sucker" you by the low monthly minimum, and when the 24 months is up you still have a huge balance so they can then charge you all that back interest. The 6 months same as cash offer probably breaks the total into 6 equal monthly payments. PS. I certainly don't want to be trying to pay off this Christmas 2 years from now....
-
You guys just don't know where to go to get the free software that will let you do those things with DVD burners....
-
From what I've seen, yes. But then you won't get the extra $250 off the price of the computer.

Ok. CompUSA Epson CX4800 $49.99 a/r Staples Kodak CD43 camera/printer dock combo $199.99* BTW...My original post was not meant in any way to be a dig against the admins hosting and providing the info on this site. I really appreciate getting the info early. Normally I pour over the ads on Thanksgiving for hours...now I can spread my prep work out over several days. Thanks again!
-
Has anyone else noticed a difference between the items shown in the scans and those in the text lists? For example, in scans, CompUSA is shown as having an Epson CX4800 All-in-one for $49.99 after rebates, and Staples has a Kodak camera and printer dock combo for $199.99. Neither of them are shown in the text lists.
-
You're right...it was a CX4600.

Legally, the company would have to take the item back and provide you a refund (big ticket items are sent a couple weeks later from the corporate office unless you paid with a credit card). However, they are NOT legally required to let you immediately repurchase it at the sale price. They can very easily tell you that they're sorry, but since it must be re-entered into the store's inventory, that it will have to be processed by receiving first, and then will be restocked. First person to get to it after it goes back on the shelf gets it.
