An iPhone 7 will take beautiful photos also, as will a DSLR. However, she needs to learn how to use the camera to take advantage of all the photos to take the headshot/model photos and the nature photos, along with learning lessons about lighting. How serious is she about the quality of the photo? Will she want to do photo editing also? There are some nice mirrorless cameras out there and you might want to read up on why a mirrorless camera: https://www.dpreview.com/articles/3871263180/primer-why-would-i-buy-a-mirrorless-camera My bias is towards Canon, as a Canon person, but Fuji cameras also take lovely pictures.

8PM Eastern is hard for us West Coasters, but I know most are in time zones that this works well for them. HOpe they're going well so far this year.

I could just do the deal at Costco, but I liked that Staples printed on regular paper, not photo paper, so in theory, people could recycle them... EDIT: I see the groupon! I only need 50, so I can live with 50 for $14.

Darn, they don't have the 10.00 Holiday Card printing this year, now it's 40% off.

I for one would like this election to be over so that my FB and Twitter can return to cat gifs.

Now see, that's a gift I'd appreciate. It doesn't take up space at all and will get used. (No, please, no gifts of beer and peanuts, I don't really drink unless you're buying me nice champagne lol) My parents are difficult, so this year I'm just getting them gift cards to the place where they take their annual vacation.

If you're looking for an eReader, I really do enjoy my paperwhite. Plus I also have the flexibility to read on my phone (great when I'm taking public transit or waiting somewhere) and it'll sync back with my kindle later.

I've bought them at Sports Authority for half off two years ago, but now that they're closed, I don't know what incentive Dick's has for this year. We'll see. They do go on sale, but you might not find every player you want.

I still have my drawstring backpack from years ago. YEARS. It's my gym bag now. It's held up pretty well.

Someone spotted one in a Costco, not sure where.

I wonder if anyone would be willing to periscope from their line/camp out.

Target I visited yesterday was 90/70, and they also threw in a ton of the Star Wars stuff from the dollar section. Saw a mom stocking up for her son's upcoming birthday party. -

I think the last place I'd want to be at 3am is Kohl's.
-
I got $15 in Kohl's Cash and $5 Yes2You rewards, so I got a dress on clearance and a yoga shirt for... 1.31. lol. I was trying to get gifts for people but couldn't find anything good.

I'm a Canon person, so I'm not sure how invested you are into Nikon products. Canon 6D is, relatively speaking, affordable for full frame.

Go for a full frame. Splurge.
