Email address isn't terrible. Life pro tip: do not use the same password for your email accounts that you use for any websites. That way if you're hacked in one place, they can't get to your email.

If you want a Chinese Thanksgiving, that's at my parents house. Traditional Thanksgiving elements with Chinese food also included - chow mein, fried shrimp, egg rolls... it's... a lot... of food... We also have Friendsgiving, this year we're doing it the weekend before. I am NOT turkey'ed out when I get to my parents! Not a problem! It's different groups of people, different experiences. It's about spending time with people, not force feeding people.

Retina display is the bomb diggity. I love it so much. Everything looks better with it. When I go from my MacBook that doesn't have retina to my phone or ipad that does, the difference is pretty large in quality. Even some of the pictures I took with my old as hell iPhone look sharp on the retina screen. As you said, if all she wants to do is browse, and she likes Apple products, a 16gb iPad is enough. I have one, and my only problems in regards to space is that I download a lot of magazines (through the library, so good!), so I have to keep deleting the older issues.

I can't remember, but it may be 30% with Kohls card. I "only" had 15% last year.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2014
freesia39 replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
YES! and i found a cute halloween onesie for a baby for only 59 cents! 70/90 at the store I visited today. Found a great bag of candy that had a good mix for only 1.49. Sadly it was the only one, or I would have gone back for more. -
Are there SPECIFIC Uggs you are looking for? In last year's list of BF Sale items, Uggs does not come up. If you are looking for uggs at a discount, try 6pm.com: However, they do not have the popular/classic styles often. If you want Men's Uggs, Nordstrom has them on sale RIGHT NOW and only for the next week I think, although I've discovered during their annual sales, they tend to take items on and off their site: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ugg-australia-classic-short-boot-men/3639904?origin=category limited sizes. Some kids uggs are on sale: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ugg-australia-classic-short-boot-walker-toddler-little-kid-big-kid/3892757?recs_type=coordinating&recs_productId=&recs_categoryId=0&recs_productOrder=1&recs_placementId=PP_3&recs_source=Rich_Relevance_Recs_API&recs_strategy=

Pricing on Canon Rebel t3i
freesia39 replied to Buckeye Shopper's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I'd probably keep watching the prices on the t5i. Canon Price Watch is a site you can use to track. The t3i isn't going to drop a ridiculous amount. Has she played with the size of the camera yet? You can see if the SL1, if it's still kicking, is an option - it's smaller. I've shoved that in a purse. (well it's a large-ish purse, but hey, it fit in my purse with ease.) I also have a pocket sized Canon (S110, new model is S120 and will probably have deals on BF), which has manual modes, which is an interesting inbetween - manual control in a P&S. -

This is a pretty old camera. IF they still have deadstock they'd want to move, then maybe on BF, but I think you're going to see more deals on the T5i, which are around the same price. How old is your daughter? Does she need a DSLR? What does she want to do with her photography? -

Depending on what it is that you want from Kohls, a lot of their items are available online and that sale starts earlier in the week (Monday/Tuesday night.)
-
You can already do this at Best Buy... and sometimes I'll still buy it at Amazon than Best Buy.
-
However, those three are stores that do not depend on you rushing and buying doorbusters and picking up other things. Costco and Nordstrom will always be able to afford to not open early on BF, and GameStop's model doesn't have you rushing in necessarily on BF - the things people rush into that store for are released on other days.

Indifferent, but I haven't shopped doorbusters on BF in years, hence the indifference.

How to "scale back" the holidays without pissing off family
freesia39 replied to Princess7915's topic in 2014
I was wondering how her family would react if she said "no, don't give me a gift - make a donation to XX instead." Or give me sporting events tickets. (and then troll everyone by asking for donations to causes they would vehemently oppose.. lol... ok maybe too far.) -
How to "scale back" the holidays without pissing off family
freesia39 replied to Princess7915's topic in 2014
Vegas is super cheap at Christmas. Seriously. -
So apparently, if you don't like the alcohol flavor of vanilla extract, the paste would work for you. The flavor is not as intense as extract, but you'll get those little vanilla flecks in your baking. It's really more of a syrup, not a paste like I had in my mind. It's a little cheaper than quality vanilla extract. My solution: if you have a Trader Joe's nearby, buy their vanilla extract. It is a great price, and they also have an alcohol free version, no preservatives or other weird, unpronounceable additives. It's real vanilla extract, not artificial vanilla extract.

How to "scale back" the holidays without pissing off family
freesia39 replied to Princess7915's topic in 2014
Whoa. Hi, other me. Except Christmas isn't a "huge" deal in my family overall, we've never made a big deal out of it. I didn't grow up with 20 presents to open on Christmas day, and I really do not want "things" that I do not need. I have a small apartment, and I really don't need more "stuff." I know the thought is nice, but I really DO NOT NEED MORE STUFF. Every time I move, I wind up purging. I'd rather go out with friends to dinner or nice brunches on weekends, and see family without the gift buying obligation, and it has only worked because it has never been a huge brouhahaha in my family. Heck, my parents haven't even been home the last couple of Christmases, since that's when they have time to take trips. TOTALLY understand the falseness. 100%. My recommendations are to see if they can cut back. 1. Buy only for children under 18 their own gifts. Even at 16, the conversation needs to be had - do they need expensive gifts? At 16, I sure would have appreciated gift cards to say, a clothing store but I know some people are extremely against gift cards/cash gifts. Hell, if you gave me a gift card now to a restaurant, I'll be happy. 2. Do a drawing for gifting - each adult draws a name, and you say you buy each other 2 gifts or a dollar limit, whatever you think they can stomach. 3. Suggest setting up lists - like on elfster - where you list items you need (like, I need a new food processor, and I would actually be appreciative if someone got that for me, rather than a crystal vase for flowers I never have in my home due to allergies) and everyone puts 10 items or stores they like to try to eliminate waste. On elfster, I think people can mark if an item has been purchased (doesn't say by who!) to eliminate duplicates. Christmas is, unfortunately, a very emotional time, and not everyone will be receptive. Culture changes are the hardest to navigate and steer, so best of luck. They also take TIME. If your mother is snarky, you'll be hearing it for a while. She sounds like the guilt trip queen, and it's a one way trip for you to guiltsville. -
Try telling them to punch in an exact amount, sometimes that'll work.
-
If Kohls carries it, it might be 50% like other toy-like items.

My credit cards in the past year has been breached at: - Target - PF Changs (and I hate myself for it) - Home Depot They issued me new ones. Life goes on. Considering how little cash I carry nowadays, the bonus dollars I can earn on credit cards, and that I don't want to be robbed at an ATM after taking out cash, I'll keep using credit cards.

Yep, I always order online. It's so easy to get up to the minimum for free shipping. That's a good line.
