Oh, I've ordered from Buy.com for a long time now. I've had items take a few days longer than they should have, but I just waited and didn't say a word. This was the first time I've had such an experience. I was mainly upset with their very poor customer service.

We'll probably take the tree and lights down this weekend. :)

Kids woke at 10am. I didn't get much sleep but it's my own fault.

Bed at 3am, and it's now 9am and the kids are still sleeping.. only awake because someone called and then I realized I was starving!

Rubbermaid and similar brands sell containers specifically for wrapping paper at least, plus you can easily use other tubs/bins for ornaments and such - you'd just have to pack them a bit if they are easily breakable. I don't think you'll easily find specific ornament keepers, as ornaments vary in size so much. But if you need just basic containers, you can find the green and red colors of most bins on sale/clearance at Target and most every other store after Christmas Day! :)

1am.. new pajamas are in the wash, they will put them on before opening presents and then wear them over to my brother in law's house. All presents wrapped, stockings stuffed.. and I realized I went WAYYYYYYYYY overboard. Oops.

OMG, I had a feeling my elf was Nate (from the senders name and location, haha) but then I kept thinking, "No, he's not participating.. I don't remember seeing him post on this thread" LOL! Thank you, Nate!!! I am starting in on the book later this week. Again, Eve, thank you so so much. You did a heckuva job with everything this year. :)

Kids just went to sleep at 10pm. So they aren't quite asleep yet. DH and I are sitting here watching TV while we wait.. and then we'll begin getting things out and setup (batteries in some items that I am not wrapping). Batteries in my camera are charged up and ready to go. Was going to videotape but that's a PITA.

I think it depends on the area of the country.. but yeah, USPS is the worst here out of all of them. DHL was pretty good but with how terribly they handled Amazon orders, they make me wonder now. UPS and Fed Ex are my top two choices. And yes, the package was delivered today. :)

I too was going to write down what batteries we needed .. but then I got to wrapping and forgot. Oops. I went out and bought some more this morning. I got a couple of 9V just in case as well, lol.

Eh, you won't tell us all who our SS's were.. so no, you can't open it.. LOL!

I went out this morning. Can't believe it but yes, I did. TRU wasn't bad at all. I found a close parking space, there was maybe 20-ish customers in the store around 9am?! Got batteries, bows and a couple of stocking stuffers and there was no line! Target had many more customers. I was still in and out of there in under 20 minutes with a pair of pajamas I was looking for. Barnes and Noble (in the mall!)? YEESH!!!! Terrible parking. It took me a good two minutes to walk from my truck to the store, and I am pregnant but I walk FAST! Didn't find a darn thing, but I did somehow end up with a Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks?! McDonald's :blush::blush: had a line of about five people but I was in and out of there quickly. And the gas station (hey, I'm covering ALL places I hit today, lol) - not bad either, surprisingly! Only had to wait about three minutes for an opening. I may venture back out real quick later on, if I muster up the energy.

I agree. Ask the kids to wait, as Daddy would enjoy seeing them open their gifts from Santa.. the two older ones may be more understanding than you think (HOPEFULLY), lol. Don't take the gifts down unless you are 110% comfy doing it.. otherwise find help or have DH do it and make up some story about Santa?!

I highly recommend rechargeables!!! But I am headed out this morning to buy more plus maybe another charger..!

I called UPS this morning. They said during the month of December, many if not all major offices are open 7 days per week?! I don't get why Amazon would have overnight shipping guaranteed by the 24th and ship it UPS if they didn't do it?! Weird. For your holiday dinner, how many pounds is it? I bought a turkey today for dinner tonight. I LOVE leftovers, so we do our own turkey dinner for holidays (we'll have ham, turkey and prime rib at my BIL's on Christmas Day). So our turkey is 17 lbs. On Thanksgiving it was 22 lbs and we barely finished off the leftovers, lol.

Call! Call them and say you understand it was lost, but you need that gift. They can overnight it as late as tomorrow afternoon and it should get there on Christmas Eve.

Both. Most are wrapped, but this year two will be unwrapped.

I'm going to mine tomorrow to get a GC. Will have to look while I am there..
