  1. Surprisingly, I disagree with mugs.. if this had been an item on a shelf, not hung up or anything, fine.. but even as the OP said a few times, it was hung up and only the employees could have done it (made the mistake). In many states, retail stores HAVE to give that item to the customer for that price (sadly not the law in Oregon but anyway..). I think the issue was more of the way it was handled or mishandled, I should say. She practically called the OP a liar, told her to learn to read (which is just incredibly rude, I mean - beyond RUDE), etc. Even if the employee (I'd be shocked if she is the actual manager!) couldn't sell it at $4.99, FINE. She could have handled it a lot better though and not been such a B to the OP. I also think it's worse that she treated you this way in front of your child. My children pay attention to things like that. I just had a guy flip me off the other day while driving down the highway (I had to brake to avoid the guy in front of me, therefore pissing the guy off behind me - so he got next to me and flipped me off) - so then ALL THREE of my kids were going, "What was that? And why did he look so angry, Mommy?" Kids notice everything. Not saying they won't have to deal with similar crap in their future, but it's annoying to have to explain other peoples terrible attitudes to your kids.. who you are trying to teach to be nice, understanding, etc. Okay, ramble over.. :/
  2. Still down? Wow.. Woot is going downhill more so than ever..
  3. BOC right now? I can't get the site to come up for me at all. :/
  4. Well, I wish they had more wide shoes, but alas.. LOL. :)
  5. TY! I have a gift card to use there, so I may as well go..
  6. Forgot to post this yesterday.. Upon checking out, I saw a lady with a cart FULL (I mean, FULL!!!) of Target bags. The BIG Target bags. And then there were wreaths piled on top of that. I listened and overheard her asking for the difference. She bought everything at half off and wanted the 90% off now. They refused. She even asked to rebuy it, but they said no, they'd put it all back out on the shelves tomorrow morning and she'd have to rebuy it then. She got SO mad and left (with the stuff). Eeks.
  7. Even when Costco was an HOUR from our house, we still went at least once every three weeks to stock up (mainly on frozen stuff or stuff we could freeze anyway). It was WORTH it! We're now 15 min away and go as often as we have time for. Not everything is a great deal, but many things are. Plus, you can find clothes for good prices (talking name brands for cheaper than retail). :)
  8. Not sure if it was the ones talked about? Probably. I don't have my receipt right here.. but they were half off ($3-something) for a three can pack. Not a great deal but I was craving honey roasted.
  9. What a waste of time. I found a pair of sweat pants for DD and a box of Planters nuts. I could not find anything listed in the last few pages of this thread. They did have about ten wreaths left and about ten boxes of candy canes. Otherwise the clearance through out the whole store was very limited. Ahh.. can't wait until the endcaps are filled with red tagged items again.
  10. Holy crud! Do they still have a lot left?!!? I am off to ours.. not wanting to get toys, but may scour other things somewhat. :)
  11. I'm sure corp knows about GD and the many other sites.. But yes, I wouldn't mention it if I called or wrote them. It's kind of beside the point. :)
  12. Huh, I must be paranoid mama, 'cause I wouldn't want my infant in one of those.. :/
  13. I saw ONE V Smile cartridge with a clearance sticker yesterday. LOL.
  14. PDX is 90% off! Well, Clackamas, Oregon is anyway. But holy moly, there is almost NOTHING left. About three trees (7 footers), one small white tree, about twenty boxes of Christmas cards, and about fifty ornaments (10 different ones). There was a handful of table runners and about five wreaths.. I think that's it? I got a couple of items anyway. :)
  15. I'll let you know. I'm headed out now to one real quick anyway.
  16. I'm not totally understanding the issue here but I'm not going to take the extra http off of the link to read the law either (too tired tonight). With that said, your issue is with Sears corp, not the local store. Don't even bother with the local store. They just do what corp tells them and that's it. Granted, the comment at the end was nasty and uncalled for, yes. But seriously, do not waste your time with the local store again. You needed to head to higher ups in Sears corp to begin with.
  17. Oh no, must go shower and get out of the house early to hit Walgreen's now!!
  18. THANK YOU! I'll have to go and look today.
  19. 50% off in Clackamas, Oregon still. But ours was MAJORLY picked over. I mean, WHOA! I've never seen it picked over like that until it got to 75 or even 90 percent! There was ornaments left, but the rest was some trees and a few boxed cards. The candy/food was sparse as well.
  20. Oh my goodness. You east coasters must update asap! I need to know if I need to go out in a couple of hours or no, lol.
  21. Free ship shows up at the end BEFORE I hit submit for placing an order. You MUST use order by catalog #, not the main search at the top of the page. Go here: http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/qobin?&langId=-1&storeId=10001&first=true&catalogId=10051 and use this. You can order up to FOUR items per order. If you order five or more, every item will go up to regular price. So 1-4 items only per order to keep each item at .88 cents.
  22. I was going to say, the cardboard sleeve isn't for protection of any kind. With that said, it's easy to shrink wrap stuff again. At a store I worked at, we'd often open items for whatever reason (show a customer something, etc.) and then have to shrink wrap it again. It looked factory sealed!
