  1. This is good to know. I will have to check this out online, incase we don't get something at the store that is on this. I can just pop on here to see if it's available. Hope that monitor is on for the other poster that needs it! Wish ya luck!
  2. My list is, and not necessarily in this order laptop 379.99 spanish and french teaching software (homeschooling kids) 4.99 each sd 1 gb memory stick pro duo 19.99 dvd r disks 4.99 sandisk sansa 2gb rhapsody mp3 99.99 20 inch tv (for kids rooms) 54.99 external hd 60 gig portable 49.99 (daughter in college) Hubby is going here so no telling what he will come home with..lol!
  3. I have also had this problem too. One ad or another isn't in our paper either. We have adults delivering the paper to us here, and they drive. I think it's just a lazyness part on the delivery person for us. There have been times in our regular Sunday paper that we have several of one ad and none of another. If it's not the delivery person, then it's the ones at the paper that make up the ad packets. Complaining however got me no where. They would always tell me, oh that ad was in the paper 2 days before. Yeah right! Target and Walmart are good ones that are rarely in our paper that day. Hmm wonder if someone is trying to keep people away from those stores?
  4. For us.. the laptop, sansa 2gb mp3, memory stick pro duo (for my camera) from BB.. although I'm not going to hold my breath on the laptop that is 379. So next best I see would be the gateway. Good sized memory and hd.. for the extra $$ I think it may be a better one then the one that's 379. Price wise tho I'm gonna tell hubby to try for the smaller priced one first. Then if he can't get one, go for the better one. Haven't made up my mind where I'm going yet. Probably to Meijers. Would love for one year to be indoors instead of freezing my patooty off!
  5. Actually the Sandisk Sansa e250r 2gb mp3 player isn't a bad one to get. I have this one and hate that I bought it over the summer and paid 180 for it. But it plays music, you can put pictures into it and you can even upload movies into it and watch them. It also has a slot in it to add the micro sd cards to add more gigs. I love mine, has good sound etc. Screen is a bit small for viewing movies (for me) but my one daughter took it with her to work over the summer and was watching movies on it. So I'm hoping to get her one for Christmas. 99 bucks is a good buy.
  6. Here is some advice. If you are going to get any computer. Grab a cart get back to where they are passing them out. Have someone with you to go try to find the rest of your list if you can. But, you would probably want to get back to the line for the pc's first. It's great to have the ticket but it's a hassle to have to wait for them to remove the added software package that they have done in the past. For Tv's, and other earlybird ticketed items. That ticket is your guarantee to get that item. Grab your other items and then go get the tv or whatever it is you have a ticket for. Just make sure that you get them before the early sale ends. I've heard people get their tickets and run off to another store. That ticket is only good till the sale ends for earlybirds which I believe is noon.
  7. I hope they do the samething this year as last year. I know last year there was 18 months interest free. The lowest they go for interest free is 6 months however on larger priced items. I've never seen them any lower than that for the interest free grace period. It will accumulate, but they don't add it in unless you do not pay it all off by that time period. I'll just wait till Thanksgiving morning to see what it says.
  8. They do have some good ones from time to time. I've bought quite a bit of stuff there. And now with them open on Sunday's, it makes it easier for me at times when I can't make it there different days of the week. Not sure if they are open on Sunday's elsewhere but they are at all of them around in northwest Indiana.
  9. I was just getting ready to ask the samething. I'll probably have to wait till the ads come out to see what it says. Normally they have like 18 months to 2 yrs interest free on certain purchases like 299 and over, so hopefully they will have it again. I'm like you on that.. gotta find that out so we know how nuts we can go there. They have a few things we want to pick up.
  10. Yeah it has changed just a wee bit. They now accept debit cards. I'm not sure but I think that they also accept food stamps too. But I definitely know they accept debit. I use mine there all the time. Still no checks or credit cards though.
  11. Yes I freeze my rear off every year to get deals. But, I feel if an employer allows employees to get in on a bit of the fun. Good for them. There are some people that, working in retail is the only way to support their families. Yes, they don't have to stand out in the cold all night like the rest of us. But man, they are putting up with all us nutso's all year round, as well as the craziest shopping day of the year. And I've seen some pretty nasty people giving cashiers and other employee's all sorts of trouble on that day. Bottom line is.. we all need to be able to have fun or whatever that day, as well as saving money for gifts for our family. And that means anyone who waits on me at any store.. I hope they got something out of standing there all day putting up with all that they have to on this day and missing out on the deals we all get to go for. JMO
  12. I was thinking of this for my daughter. Still unsure cuz, it's not on her list. She is 13 but collects all sorts of dolls. Never knew they were that expensive in the past. Thanks for the info.
  13. For those of you that has a Meijers nearby. They have a 10 pk of handwarmers on sale for 2 days starting tomorrow morning at 6 am. Cost is 3.99 per 10 pk. Just thought I would share this with ya's since a lot of people were talking about having them to stand outside.
  14. I have an Aldi's like 3 blocks from me. And for the past few years they have been having tons of "special purchase" items. There brands are not names most are familiar with, however most have components or are totally name brand merchandise without the name actually being on it. In the past I have purchased the traveler digi camera, and it's a good camera. I've also gotten an external hard drive from there that came out right around the time the first ones came out and I am much happier with their's then the one I have from western digital. My western digital external has went on the fritz and the medion (sp?) one from Aldi's is still kicking. I'm just upset that all my work on the western digital one has been either deleted or it won't let me open it. They also sell lots of toys, sometimes clothing shoes, etc. there around this time of year. Granted there are times you can get stuff elsewhere for less, but they do have some sales there. I have never heard of anything being special for BF there though.
  15. The laptops sounds like good deals to me too. I didn't know that the 32" at BB has the hd tuner in it. That's awesome. I may have to rethink my list for hubby!
  16. If I lived down in the warmer climates, I would spend the whole night in line. Anything is better then freezing. As you know from experience, it's not too much fun. I would give anything for a 32+ night to wait out in for this time of year! I wish you the best of luck getting your laptop!
  17. Our camping out experience has varied year to year. Last year at the BB closest to us, I got there at 12:30 am and was like 23rd or so in line. Year before hubby went and got there at 1am and was 2nd in line. It really is going to depend on how many people want the samething. I'm starting to think to go at like 12 am this year. Hopefully we won't be too far back in line at the stores we are going to go to. And for that.. it's too soon to tell. Gotta wait to see rest of ads.
  18. Our stores are all over the place here.. gotta go east for one, west for another, south, north .. well you get the picture. Either way we have a short drive. Just have to split up.. one goes one way and the others go another. I'm thinking on taking a longer drive and have hubby go same way. It will take us longer to get there but there are more stores bunched together so we can hit them all. That may take us like 45 minutes to get to where we are going. Nicer people in that area too.. I hope!
  19. Lol.. I remember Zayre's.. I used to work at one years ago! That's when I was a teenager.

    PS3 gamers

I originally posted this on the thread Rossman put up for this where the preorders is over. Anyway, found some new information on it.. just copied and pasted my original post. Hope this is helpful to someone. Move this if you need to as I'm unsure where this type of post belongs. just for you PS3 gamer's info.. I was just at Cnn.com looking at the link that Brad put on here.. at the bottom of that page there is another link talking about the 2 new game systems that are coming out. According to them, BB is opening up some of their locations at 12 midnight the day before for the sale of PS3. Here's what I copied from the article for those of you that may want to read it. The link to that particular page is here where you can read the whole thing. http://money.cnn.com/2006/11/08/news...ion=2006110814 No pain, no gain Best Best, the No. 1 electronics retailer, will open its stores earlier than usual at 8:00 a.m. for the PS3 launch. Jill Hamburger, Best Buy's vice president of gaming, wouldn't say how many PS3 units will be available per store but told CNNMoney.com that the retailer was "hoping for more units and additional shipments throughout the holidays." Consumers cannot pre-order PS3 or Wii at BestBuy.com. However, Best Buy is holding midnight openings at about 18 stores locations nationwide for PS3, including in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Minneapolis. She explained that these stores will use a "ticket" system. Given the limited quantity, the first few customers in line are more likely to get a ticket to purchase a PS3. "We've found that the ticket system is the best way to manage customer demand for a limited quantity products," she said. For Nintendo's launch, Best Buy stores will open at 9:00 a.m. and the company hasn't scheduled any midnight openings. Sorry.. don't know why I put psp3 up there instead of ps3.. fixed it tho. Sorry for confusion!
  21. I can't remember that far back! I just know I've been shopping on this day it seems like forever. I remember going for some deals, seeing ppl fight that totally cracked me up, and have been going ever since. We come home every year and compare stories about everyone getting nuts over one thing or another. The deals are great but I love the stories after we are all done too.

  23. At the closest BB to me, I was there at 12:30 am and was fine at getting what I needed. However, all BB's are different. I was like 23 or so in line when I got there. If you go at 3 am however, you may not be there early enough to get what you want. Ours at 3 am had a line around the building by that time. Good luck!
