  1. So far I haven't had anyone ask me to pick up anything. I probably would tho. But I have to take care of my family first. I definitely would help a shut in without a doubt. My mom is 74 yrs old now, and the year before last, she actually came into town to go out with us. Most ppl I know tho said it's not worth the hassle of the craziness. I think it is. With a big family like I have, I need to save whatever I can.
  2. Our BB didn't limit people last year. I think limits are good to a certain extent. But not one total doorbuster per household. What if someone needed a pc or something for a family member and a tv for another. I think one of each ticketed item would be fair.
  3. The only time I go out the day after is if there is something needed for the house or all my animals. Which I don't go too often after this day. Did it once and the stores were still a huge mess. Haha I actually one BF tried to get to the dog food.. what a joke. Specially since it's right by the toy department. Never happened! Learned to get it before that day gets here now.
  4. Mine from last year was getting both our younger ones their computers. My least favorite was someone there complaining that they didn't get any coupons for them. But, they didn't get there till after 7 am. Funny tho.. there were people there offering others to buy their coupon for the laptops.
  5. Wish our WM would do that.. I didn't even go there last year due to the craziness there. Just before the door opens there's as much ppl in the lot as there is in the lines. They rush as well as the whole back of the line pushing forward. Everyone gets smashed and a lot of ppl get knocked down. The whole time the WM employees stand inside the door just before unlocking it and watch, yet they do nothing but open up. I'm sure there's not a whole lot they can do but, they can give something a shot.
  6. I only remember the one year WM giving out coffee and doughnuts. But, you had to go to the deli area to get them. Target used to hand out bags with coupons and basically a bunch of junk. Never made it to Sears or JCP to get anything from them. So I'm unsure if they do anything in our area. I only go there later to check on tools for hubby. No one does anything anymore in our area..guess it's just as well too. People are nuts enough here, I don't think we need freebies to set them off more.
  7. Thanks again for doing this. It really comes in handy.
  8. All the years I've been doing this, never thought of price matching. Gonna give it a shot this year. I will ask friends I know at the stores I want to go to and make sure they will do it first.
  9. I'm guessing the laptop deals someone else said before me. Right now BB in my area are clearancing them out. Not only those that aren't compatible with Window's Vista, but also the solo processors as well. With the new core duo's out there, they need to clear out the old due to these new double processor units. I'm guessing also the desktops that have the old processors in them also. I'm hoping for plasma's as well. Would be nice to get a great deal on a good one.
  10. I take cell phone with me every year. Drinking and me waiting in line.. does not get along well. Gonna have to try the hand warmer things this year. Don't know why I never thought of that before since it's beyond freezing here each year. Might get some extra's and duct tape them together and line the inside of my coat.
  11. Now that is scary! Lol!
  12. I would not tolerate anyone taking anything from me. I'm small (as in short) but mostly my shopping is for my kids. Don't touch!
  13. That is very sweet!
  14. Last year I went to BB along with my 20 yr old daughter. We got there early on, or so we thought.. there were already 20 some odd ppl in line at 12 am. Anyway, we originally went into the line together so the ppl there knew we were together. I had my daughter go into my van and stay there most of the time while I froze my rear off. I did change with her 2 times that night due to the temps being -11 below. Then we both waited out the last hour together. It would of been stupid not to help each other out due to the chance of frostbite. There were even times that the ppl in line told me just go with her for a few minutes to warm up.. I was freezing! But I stayed out there. I do not think it's fair tho for someone to wait and hold too many places in line while most are out there freezing. I mean, if you are going to get the deals then, go there and do your share of freezing too like we did.
  15. I normally go to the store that has the most that I need for my kids. After that it's just pure luck if anything is left at other stores when I get there. Last year it was BB for the 149 computers. They aren't that great, still working but, with homeschooling 2 kids, they came in handy. It was worth the -11 degree temps for them..
  16. I was going to say only 10 yrs for me..but then I started thinking, heck I did this before we bought this house. So it's been over 14 yrs. Oh man, we need to start a bf anonymous group here!
  17. This cracked me up! They did something to get those people to walk calmly. Yikes my walmart is like the other crazy video. People get smashed, knocked down etc. One year there was a fight just walking in the doors and a man was hit in the face and knocked back into me.
  18. I heard this too.. just yesterday. I was in walmart and asked someone in layaway for help in the infant department and while waiting I was playing with a cardboard standee.. then I read it. So I know in indiana they are stopping the program also. My guess is there will be a lot of people upset. The Walmart in my area is falling apart tho. Hardly ever clean. Probably due to the area it is in.. takes me a bit to get there and the people that live around it are tearing the place up. Sad.
  19. My best deal last year was the same as some of you, the 149 computer at Best Buy. Not a bad deal for our youngest for starter computers.
  20. You're all welcome! These were just too funny to keep to myself. Hope your friends enjoy them too. Happy Holidays!
  21. For us.. right now there are about 23 under there. The rest is wrapped and hidden in places the kids would never think to look.. <I'm hoping> Most of what's under the tree is from our 2 youngest one's Santa's Workshop shopping. <try saying that one 3 times fast> Oh yeah and cami_reardon, mine and my hubby's aniversary is also in January. But, ours is later in the month on the 23rd. Also hubby's b-day is in January. So he gets spoiled on Christmas. I don't make him wait till his b-day to get his stuff. He's a bigger kid then the 4 kids we have! Happy Holidays!
  22. Yeah that one is my favorite too! Happy Holidays!
  23. None of this is meant to offend anyone.. just wanted to give ya's a giggle while reading posts. 15 Things to do at Wal-Mart while your spouse/partner is taking their sweet time: 1. Get 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's carts when they aren't looking. 2. Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals. 3 Make a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the rest rooms. 4 Walk up to an employee and tell him/her in an official tone, 'Code 3' in housewares..... and see what happens. 5 Go the Service Desk and ask to put a bag of M&M's on lay away. 6 Move a 'CAUTION - WET FLOOR' sign to a carpeted area. 7 Set up a tent in the camping department and tell other shoppers you'll invite them in if they'll bring pillows from the bedding department. 8 When a clerk asks if they can help you, begin to cry and ask 'Why can't you people just leave me alone?' 9 Look right into the security camera; use it as a mirror, and pick your nose. 10 While handling guns in the hunting department, ask the clerk if he knows where the anti- depressants are. 11 Dart around the store suspiciously loudly humming the "Mission Impossible" theme. 12 In the auto department, practice your "Madonna look" using different size funnels. 13 Hide in a clothing rack and when people browse through, say "PICK ME!" "PICK ME!" 14 When an announcement comes over the loud speaker, assume the fetal position and scream "NO! NO! It's those voices again!!!!" ( And; last, but not least!) 15 Go into a fitting room and shut the door and wait a while; and, then, yell, very loudly, "There is no toilet paper in here!"
  24. Also in the 4.77 small appliances they had the fondue maker, and the sandwich maker. Our WM still has the dvd players and the computers. Didn't notice if they were marked down or not. I was flashing through there the last time I was in there to pick up stuff needed for the animals in our house. Gotta spoil them too. :)
  25. Well I'm around still..sorta. I'm with genoandkiddo, meaning I caught a nasty cold. In fact I went out on BF sick. Probably shouldn't of done that but, hey I didn't wanna stay home in a nice warm bed and get better. I'll be fighting this one for a long time. Will be here back and forth from time to time. Like to read posts and see what everyone is up to. And every now and then post back. But I'm here. All of you are getting the wrapping done? Ha.. I haven't even started with that yet. Guess I probably should get on it. But I will wait for a bit longer. The kids have no idea to look the the coolers we have in the basement. Least I hope they don't!
