From my past experience with my 24 hour Walmart, it really pays for you to shop with someone else. Our WM opened the pallets early and people were allowed to put things in their carts, but could not check out until the sale started. I took DD with me last year. She kept my place in line for the Xbox system while I went around and shopped for other things that were already out on the floor that were not ticketed items. The staff was instructed not to stop anyone from opening pallets early as they did not want any confrontations with customers or any rush to open pallets like it had been in years prior. The registers did not ring up any doorbuster items at the discounted price until the time of the sale started.

We do it almost every year and it is a madhouse at the Smithfield, NC outlet mall. I think last year some stores opened at 10pm, while others opened at midnight. Parking is the hardest thing to do - people actually just pull off of I95 and park on the side of the highway. Get there early and get a parking space! Banana Republic normally does 40% off the entire store, including clearance. Yankee Candle also does 1/2 off all gift sets. I've already got coupons in the mail from Hilfiger!! The outlets normally post hours and what each store is going at least 1 week beforehand. I just checked ours and they have hours posted, but that's it for right now.

I know just how you feel. The holidays used to be my favorite time of the year and now I just dread everything. I put off decorating because it is just too hard for me as all those wonderful memories keep coming back. If it wasn't for my kids, I don't think I'd even bother. Just know you are not alone ..

My stepdad is the same way. He always asks for a donation to his favorite charity. I also do gift cards to his favorite adult toy store - REI - lol.

Our station that does holiday music started playing it online today. I think they normally switch right before Thanksgiving. I wish they would keep playing until the 12 days of Christmas are actually over - you know in January. Here they stop playing it on 12/26 - which I think is too early!

There was an Advil coupon in this Sunday's paper that did not have a count specified on it. It's in the CVS ad this week using the coupon.

My sister always gets their family jammies from the Disney Store.

I normally do the GD card exchange. I used to do a family letter, but I get holiday-itis and always run out of time.

Good idea about the dollar store dvds .. I'd never thought of doing that!

What app store does the tablet use? I got an inexpensive e-reader/tablet and was bummed when I realized they didn't use Google Play. There are very few apps I can actually download that are of interest to me. Will you be able to use Netflix on this brand - if that matters to you..not sure .. but check it out if it does.

Target and Best Buy normally do a Virgin Mobile phone on BF. We had Virgin Mobile for years and loved it.

DD21 picked up the BOBS because she couldn't find TOMS where we live .. she wished she would have ordered them online. But ITA about not finding them onsale because of the charity aspect of the company.

Do you live near an outlet mall? Our outlets here have all those stores and they have done midnite madness on Thanksgiving night until Friday evening when they normally close. I love shopping the Banana Republic outlet as they do an extra 40% off everything in the store, including clearance. Go into the stores now and sign up for their newsletters, fliers - I always see people in checkout lines with coupons they were either sent snail mail or email.
