I like that too! I've been to a Hospice service and they gave everyone a tabletop living Christmas tree. But I like the idea of planting something. I'd stay away from something that you will only pull out once a year - I'd rather have something that I can sit out year round. Cause when you pull it out next year, all those sad feelings come right back. I struggle with the holidays every year after the loss of both of my parents.

I've always gotten my rebates too - but the model number from the packaging was new to me! Glad I read all the fine print before I recycled the box. This was for the appliance rebate - it covers the popcorn maker, the griddle, crock pots, etc. And I forgot that one of them is actually a gift. I was able to peel off the UPC code and the model number and not actually cut the box. I guess if he doesn't like it, I just got a new small crockpot!

Make sure you read the fine print on the rebates before you throw away your boxes and send them in. I have never noticed this before, but along with the UPC, it says you need to include the original UPC bar code symbol with the model # attached from the package for verification. And all rebates must be postmarked before 12/23/12. I had to basically send the bottom panel along with the top panel from the item I bought. If I was going to try and give one of these as gifts - no way!! Glad they were just for me.

We waited for 3 hours for them to find the Promo Brave ... they never did. Fortunately I grabbed one of the normal ones and it rang up at the sale price. It was crazy at our Walmart. Apparently they had too much stock in the back and they couldn't keep it all straight.

I got in on the Toshiba laptop, but it wouldn't take my 1 day free shipping code with Discover. Oh well. I just need it before Christmas.

And in past years, BB has put a few of those doorbusters online, only to cancel your order. So if says in the add it's a doorbuster, but you get it in your cart, and you pay for it - you can still get your order cancelled. I love buying those discounted DVDs online, but that's about it for me. I do want to try and order online the Dr. Dre Beats wireless headphones .. I'm hoping I won't have a problem getting them.

I keep forgetting that using your Discover card gives you free 1 day shipping with no minimum. It saves me from having to wait to finish shopping to check out and not have some of my stuff no longer be available.

I went this afternoon and they had about 1/2 the free stuff left. Best score was for Platex tampons. When I scanned my card, the machine spit out a $3 off coupon, I stacked that with my buy one 36 count, get a 20 count free that was in the paper today.

They do run specials on BF. It changes from year to year - but that's the only time I was able to find cold gear for women for 29.99.

wow .. that's cheaper than BF prices!

When my kids were smaller - we would make candy racecars. You use a firm small fun size candy bar - like Snickers. You "glue" on peppermint candies for the wheels, cut out a space toward the front and add a steering wheel with an M&M. Easy and so cute!

I'd put something out on Freecycle. Or check your local Goodwill.

Well last year my Target put most of their electronics behind the counter and had TWO registers open. The Kindle I wanted was behind the counter. They had $150 cameras out on the shelf, but the $85 Kindle I had to stand in line for almost an hour for. I was beyond livid!!!

they are not matching any BF ads is my understanding, they didn't last year either.

Our BB will remove you from the line if you are caught selling tickets. They have been pretty good in the past few years policing the line once the tickets are handed out and they have the local police there to back them up. It's crazy.

I got mine at Target last year on BF, they didn't have the serving pieces, but I thought I got a great deal! I think they have them again this year.

wow .. you were lucky. my store didn't do that - they made you come back and stand in line again.
