My son's school teacher one year took clear bulbs and carefully removed the tops and put a picture of them inside it hanging from a string tied to the top when put back on. Then painted their name and yar on the outside. Or, try Big Lots. They have a lot of cute ornaments reasonably priced.

If she specifically said "ipod", I would buy ipod and not just any mp3 player. Which one would depend on what she wants to do with it. Just music or videos and music?

We also spend x amount of $$ on each child. So if ds17 wants a bigger item that takes all his $$ he might only get 1 gift while ds5 may get 15. It's all about spending the came amount of $$ on each child around here :)

I agree, the others never sell as well as the elmos. And besides, the parents that fought so hard to get elmo for their little ones last year found out that after all the trouble, most of them never got played with. The adults played with ds's more last year than he did So I won't be purchasing these.

I spent 36 hours waiting for the PS3 last year and I can honestly say that it would have to be an unreal deal to make me do it again!

Can I ask why you choose XM over Sirius? I LOVE our Sirius and would never give it up! JMO. And they usually do have sales on Sirius closer to Christmas.

Walmart has some computers on clearance here. They had one for $278, but no monitor. Seemed like a good deal to me.

Can't help you there. We have a Wii and a PS3 but dh wants the xbox 360 now. Says the only reason is because there are a few games only available on the xbox 360. But they like the PS3 better because you can play online free and xbox charges you.

Does anyone remember the date Walmart had that early sale last year? Was wondering when to start looking this year.

We bought our son a new lcd monitor a couple years ago and I cut the upc out of the box on it. He just laughed and said guess mom needed it for a rebate huh? The only downside I see is if it doesn't work, you can't return it. (we made sure it worked before cutting it out)

I check out turkey day sales online but on bf, I HAVE to be at the stores! Like others have said, it's the thrill of it and I too like to be able to have my purchases in hand! Although, dh hates it because I come home on a "high" and want to show him everyhting I bought and tell him about all my good deals. If he did our shopping, the kids wouldn't get nearly as much cause he would buy it all online and pay higher prices and shipping! He soesn't understand waiting on a sale LOL
