  1. It is European and since My mother was French and german, we always celebrated it, but on Dec. 6th (that's St. Nicholas' day) January 2 was 3 King's Day and we got stuff then too--never anything really big, usually just candy and fruits and smaller toys or a tape (probably a cd now LOL) as we got older.
  2. Ok, you freaked me out a bit and I had to run and check it out LOL My order status shows the Neon Genesis DVD set, so I'm good on that. I hope they fix yours too.
  3. My son just turned 16 and he wants new surround sound for his room :-) Finally something on his list that isn't a CAR or Money!!
  4. How do you do it when the PO Box and the physical address are in different zip codes? For example, my MIL's box is by her office,(and in one zip code) but her house zip code post office is about 7 miles from her house the other direction? I will definitely need to do this again this year LOL
  5. The washable crayola marker washes out completely and hers still aren't lumpy. They are about 10 years old or so now. The permanent marker does NOT wash out though. She used one as an autograph bear for a summer camp LOL
  6. My daughter has about 4 of them from when they came out the first time. She's 13 now and she still writes on them occasionally
  7. Woah! Didn't realize exactly HOW cheap it was!! Wow, Great Find!! I looked it up on Deep Discount DVD
  8. I haven't seen it on sale anywhere yet, but toysrus.com has it in stock for $69.99 Probably outrageous shipping though.
  9. Thanks a lot for this--looks like a neat present for my son!
  10. Me too--I've already ordered them for the 7PM IMAX showing :-)
  11. If you mail to a PO box, make sure that they have paid up their annual dues though. A few years ago, My MIL didn't pay for her box and the package was returned to me 3 times before she realized it was HER fault and I didn't get the address wrong. Then it was still MY fault because I should have just sent the box to the house the second time instead of being fed up and doing it the 3rd time. GRRRRRRRRRR she told me to send it to her box!!! Even after all of that, they still got their package before Christmas (and before we received the package from her)
  12. I really don't have a theme or color scheme. I have the dark red bows and silver beaded garland, but other than that, just the ornaments that we've collected over the years and whichever colors of lights I bought cheap last year. I don't remember if they were white or colored.
  13. Baking cookies, wrapping gifts for friends, making an ornament. I liked the foam ornament kits when my daughter was little. The kits made enough to give one to each grandparent too and they loved them. Especially the wreath one that we put the picture in the center of. simple coloring sheets, shopping for presents from her to whomever she needs to buy for.
  14. I have one in the living room, one in each of the kids' rooms and we put up one in the band room at school that they have to take down before spring break. I have 2 woodwinds, so the tree goes in the corner of the woodwind section of the instrument storage room (AKA the kids' other locker area)
  15. I used to hate going to my MIL's for any holiday because both her and my FIL lived about 6 miles apart and when we'd go to his house, she'd act like we were betraying her. She also can't remember my kids' birthdays and is a PITA most of the time. Now, we live 15 hours or so away. My FIL moved about 6 hours from us, so we go to see him a bit more often. I like going to see him. He is such a sweetheart!! I still haven't gone back to OK and I don't want to!! I liked his second wife--she was my favorite MIL, but now they are divorced. She till sends cards on time for the kids' birthdays!!!
  16. a portable DVD player--my daughter loves to take mine on band trips. She also wants a sewing machine and a digital camcorder for christmas, along with jewelry and bath stuff. She'll be 14 in January. Today we went to Ross and she got a pair of gauchos, 3 shirts and a pair of boots, so clothes would be a safe bet, too LOL
  17. The year I was sick and my husband made christmas dinner (lasagna) AND cleaned up!!
  18. I like teh picture Idea--but my mother in law feels that those aren't really presents and I should just be sending them anyway. She's something else (She still hasn't called DS for his birthday and it's been 2 weeks, but she called my husband today at work to give him hell for not calling her today because it's her birthday--I sent a card and and email!!) Anyway-- this year I saw moon property LOL I'm going to get her a moon acre. I think its cool, I don't care if she hates it--it will be cheap to mail to her.
  19. I don't do much around Nashville other than the Science Museum, the Frist Museum and the like. Most of the other stuff is Country music hall of fame etc, but the Titans do have open practices/training camp and autograph sessions. Those are very cool!!!
  20. Thanks for the insight Will :-) I've never had any trouble getting what I wanted from Wal Mart.
  21. I don't shop for clothes for myself on BF and only buy clothes for those I know the sizes of, like my kids. It takes too long trying stuff on for me to shop for myself, but my daughter is easy (small) and my son is easier (large)
  22. ours still has desks and entertainment centers and bookshelves and stuff like that, but all the outside lawn furniture went cheaply. The desks and stuff is inside by the candles.
  23. Furniture as in inside house stuff ? or lawn furniture type stuff? Ours was clearanced in August. No more and the garden center is now the Christmas Shoppe. The grills are on clearance now but they only had a couple left.
  24. Last year it was available when it came in the mail--I think I got it on Monday or Tuesday and the stuff I wanted was already priced for the "regular" part of the ad.
