Happy New Year everyone! Where did 2017 go? It flew by this year. My resolution this year is to purge unused and unneeded stuff and to organize what we keep. I'm sick of clutter! I went out to Dollar General to get storage tubs(organizing our closet) and the Christmas clearance was 70% off. Why did I look? I knew what would happen... Got a ton of craft supplies for my Sunday School class for 30 cents each! We are well stocked on pipe cleaners and glitter glue now. And the best thing besides a whole new set of Christmas glasses (2.40 for 8) was my new scissors! They're covered in a Christmas light design all over the blades and handles, they are my wrapping scissors and no one shall borrow them for any reason. MINE!!!! (Can you tell people borrowed my scissors a few too many times this year when I was wrapping?) Who else to share happy finds with then my fellow GottaDealers?

I'm going out the day after Christmas for the sales... And taxes. Really won't have any extra money when I'm done. I found a lamp post decoration that I want to spray paint green and turn into a Sesame Street sign for my son's birthday in February. I thought about getting it today at 18, decided to wait and chance it to see if I could get a bit lower. I'll survive if I don't get it though, have a DIY version I can do.

Awesome deal on the AG doll. Kit was my first doll, still have her. I love her books to this day.

Here for December! Only have 3things left to buy, PJ's for my DH for our new tradition, doing the everyone opens and wears new pajamas Christmas Eve tradition for the first time. Trusting him to buy me some, hope that doesn't backfire on me. He's a procrastinator for shopping. Then he has to get a gift for his brother because I have no clue what to get him. And maybe one more thing for the baby. Would have been done this week but the baby got sick, then made everyone else sick. Haven't left the house all week aside for the doctors office. We're supposed to be caroling at the nursing homes with our church today but stayed home so we didn't make someone sick. Made me sad, I love caroling for them.

Ours was super organized this year. Checkout was horrible as always but went fast, just huge lines. Got everything on my list, including electronics that usually would have been gone.

My husband went Black Friday shopping with me for the first time this year! I think we may have started a new tradition, brunch/lunch at Cracker Barrel on the way home. We had a good time and it was nice to sit and relax. They weren't too busy either. And I forgot, my mom and I usually stop at McDonald's after Walmart to get coffee. Started doing that the first year we ever went shopping together. My sister used to be the store manager so she either had to be at work to close it down or she went to check on them while we were all out shopping. We always went to her McDonald's so we could see her for a few minutes or let my niece tell her mommy good night if my sister was working.

That's what I thought. My brain was completely fried yesterday, nothing was sinking in or making sense. Too much shopping and turkey. Thanks!

My husband ended up going with me and our 9 month old. It went well, got to TRU at nine am, got what I needed. He dropped us off at Bath and Body Works. DS got a little overstimulated while we were in the checkout line, it was packed. As soon as we walked out he fell asleep and was fine. I call it a success. The amount of infants in baby carriers at Walmart was ridiculous. Opening is not the time to bring young infants, I saw one who was maybe a month old. There were quite a few ten year olds and up, but mostly well behaved. Did have to snag a runaway at TRU, teacher voice still works even if I'm not one anymore. Her mom thanked me and then the child went in the cart.

So is it this specific thread or is it the Black Friday forums/sub-forums in general? My brain is on 3 day shopping marathon/turkey coma so double checking. I'm in!

Kiddo finally asleep so I can post. Started on Wednesday, went out to scout and most of what I wanted was already on sale. Got the coordinating shirts for myself, DH, and DS from JcPenneys, my jeans and a hat for the hubby at Bass Pro, and spent way too much at Teavana and their BOGO sale. Then we had lunch on Thanksgiving at my brother's house who lives twice as far from the Walmart we BF shop at as we do. So we got there at five til(which was not the plan but oh well), my mom dropped me off at the door while she tried to find a spot to park. In the first five minutes, I saw a fight over towels, got my sheets, pillows, a cart, the phone my mom wanted, etc. Got everything on my list! A ton of movies, the PW gadget set that was the hot ticket item at our store, socks, jammies for the baby, Fisher Price toys, and a Roku. This morning dragged my hillbilly hubby with me to TRU and the mall. I was going to go by myself with the baby but we've had a big uptick in violence in general in nearby city so it made me feel better having him with me. He was hilarious, told him the croeds weren't as bad as usual and he couldn't believe it. Got more toyss for DS at TRU, found Lion King in the BOGO movies so got it and an Elmo Christmas DVD for kiddo's stocking. Bath and Body Works was swamped but had four coupons they let me stack so I got 90 dollars worth of stuff for 20! Made me very happy.

My DH stopped to get one for me, they told him they only got five papers!?! Why?????? I wanted a paper ad for Walmart. Only place I have left besides Bath and Body Works, knocked the others out yesterday when I was doing recon, all the stuff I really wanted was on sale already!
-
Question, actually two. Would you be able to use a Free item with 10 dollar purchase coupon, and get the bag too? And will they let you split transactions to use two of those coupons?
-
Thanks for the reminder; need to wash mine too!
-
Don't know if your Walmart would have them but at ours, the dream tents are on clearance for 12; they had at least 30.
-
I can see mine but it won't let me download the map. Everything is in its usual spots for the most part though so not too concerned.

I want the activity cube for 15 for my DS. Buying toys for his birthday in February at this point. Christmas is done for him. May have to pick up the emoji pillow and blanket combo for my mom, niece wants it. Will look at some other things in store this week to price them. I hate percent off sales when they don't list the original price. Carter's bodysuits for 5 isn't a bad price.
-
I really liked the ad. Going Friday morning, so hope what I want will still be there.
-
I didn't figure they'd let you switch stuff out while you were there. Someone told me you could do that, thought it was a little weird. I'm allergic to most of the scents that are in the holiday stuff and some of the regular scents. Would have to open and exchange probably... Now is it worth it, hmm. Must decide.

Toys R Us, where are you? Come out, come out wherever you are!!!! Only one I'm waiting on and its driving me nuts!!
-
Walmart has one for 15. Wouldn't recommend it though, checked it out in store and it was very cheap plastic.
-
Do they sell out really fast? And I heard something about being able to swap out scents? Accurate or nope? I really like the bag, probably won't get there in time to get one though.

Where are you going first this year on Black Friday/Thanksgiving?
MariahA replied to Rockfordmom's topic in 2017
For the first time in four years, I will NOT be first in line at Dollar General. First stop will be Walmart after Thanksgiving lunch, then home for the night unless Ace Hardware is open, will stop there if they're open. Sleep, get baby, and then to major city for Bass Pro by 8am. Followed by TRU, a stop at Einstein Brothers for breakfast and coffee, then the mall. So Walmart first Thanksgiving night, Bass Pro first on Black Friday. -
Any idea what time Ace Hardware usually opens? Do they open on TG or are they one of the ones holding to Black Friday being on Black Friday?
-
Toys r Us, where are you??? Last one I need to finish lists.

Samsung J3 Mission. She wants to stay with Verizon, better service and she should be able to keep her number according to my uncle who does phone activations and is the assistant electronics manager. Small town supercenter, not the best area but no where near as bad as the large city Walmarts.
