Maybe a gift certificate for BBW? or Sephora? That way she can pick out something luxurious for herself. Fragrances are so personal and I bet she would enjoy picking one out for herself. Blankets are always nice as are soft, warm socks. A grocery gift card would be appreciated too. A Target gift card would be nice because she could get groceries, cleaning supplies, body lotions, a book, anything she may want.

Does anyone know if TJ Maxx or Marshals have BF sales? I have found quite a few gifts at these stores this year. I have never been to them on BF so I am not sure if they have specials or not.
-
I completely agree! The store in the busy mall in my area is always packed and sells out quickly. The store at the less busy mall has had bags for the entire weekend if not longer and the stand alone store has bags for at least a week after BF.

I missed the Walmart $50 itunes card(s) for $35. Has anyone else seen any good deals on them? My husband is always finding tons of apps for his ipad and iphone. So any discount on them would be great. Thank you!

In need of help with decisions

Target has some 42" lcd'd on clearance. -
The Le Creuset dutch oven is enameled cast iron. I LOVE my Le Creuset. I haven't used any other enamel coated cookware, but I hope you like the Martha Stewart one as much as I like my cookware.

I buy Ghirardelli chocolate chip or even Whole Foods 365 organic chocolate chips. I melt them in an enameled cast iron saucepan on medium low heat. They are yummy! My DH loves them dipped in dark chocolate. Yum!

there is a tree at one of our grocery stores and the gifts go to the local domestic violence shelter. We buy for children and parents. Their is a $20 limit and this is my favorite tree to buy for. Check and see if any organizations like that accept presents in your area.

I don't believe I have ever seen them on sale. I have them and they hold up really well. I was concerned about the button staying intact and it is in great shape. I have been wearing them for a year. I think you will really enjoy them.

My worst was when I went to Gymboree on BF to pick up at least one coat for the Angel Tree. They had them for $14 or $15 with coupon. I was so excited to be able to get my angel tree child a quality winter coat for a great price. I went to Gymboree when they opened and they only had two coats! (wrong size, 1 TOO BIG, 1 TOO SMALL) All the coats they had gotten had been put on hold by their customers on Wednesday. I was so frustrated! As I searched for a coat, (I was hoping someone put one back in the wrong place) I kept seeing customers come in and employees going in the back and bringing out these massive bags FILLED with clothes and coats. Ugh!

I bet the police hate BF. I have read a few stories here and at other places where they had to be called. It sucks that something that should be fun can turn in to such a mess that police have to intervene.

Have you checked in to any of the places that people sell their gift cards to? http://www.plasticjungle.com/pjweb/ http://www.cardpool.com/buy/bed-bath-and-beyond-gift-cards

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2010

"Can you return the 75% Halloween costumes for the same price? For some reason I am thinking they have exceptions for halloween and christmas?? Anyone tried it?? Found this on their website: Holiday and Seasonal Merchandise Refunds: Holiday and seasonal merchandise on clearance at the time of return will be refunded at the current clearance price. Other restrictions may apply." I was just getting ready to post this. I'm glad I read through the rest of the posts first. I have returned seasonal clearance (wrong size and they didn't have the size I needed. Ugh!) I bought the item at 75% off and when I returned it with a receipt they could only give me the 90% price. I was not happy, but lesson learned I guess. -
Kids are growing up so fast. I was playing with Barbie's when I was eight. The Christmas after I turned eight I received a preemie Cabbage Patch Kid doll and a dollhouse.

There is a newspaper box on my corner so I grab it when they are delivered.

I had a Barbie Camper/RV a long time ago. I think I was 6 when I got it for Christmas. I LOVED it and have wonderful memories of playing with it. I even have a picture of my Grandpa putting it together for me on Christmas Eve when my brother and I were sleeping. I hope your daughter has fun with her Barbie Camper! I believe this is it. The angle of the picture makes it look shorter than it was. http://www.gmcmi.com/mem-pages/barbie.html

I don't carry cash. I bring my credit card and make all of my purchases with it. That way if it does get lost or stolen I am only responsible for $50. I also use credit cards because my card tacks on an extra year warranty on my purchases so if something breaks after the manufacturer warranty then I am still covered. I pay the card off right away and we do not spend more then we have.

I was just thinking about your situation. Are you able to shop and buy gifts so that the original retail amount equals $150, but you have only spent $30-$50 per child? You should not have to do this, but if you are concerned that she will not agree or that approaching her about spending less will cause problems between you two. I have found some great deals at Marshals, TJ Maxx, Ross, Target and even consignment shops. This way may be less stressful then dealing with your sister especially since she hasn't been agreeable in the past with gift amount changes and is definitely less stressful then spending $150 per child. I found a great tutu for my niece that was originally $30+ for $5 and I picked up a onesie in the same color for $3.99. I picked this up at Marshalls. Cute $35+ gift for $8.99. If I didn't shop this way I wouldn't be able to get such fun gifts for my niece and nephews. Target had a bunch of clothes at 50% in the infant/toddler section and some in the older child section too. You may be able to find some movies for them during Black Friday and a few toys too. Gymboree will have some good deals for Black Friday too. Last year they had fleece jackets for $8 I believe and coats for about $15. $50 coats for $15! Just an idea. Good luck!

Since she is spending $150 in gifts then you should also spend $150 in gifts. Total amount, not per child. This way you are both spending the same amount of money. My husband and I do not have children. His two brothers do. One has 3 and the other 1. Christmas can get quite expensive for us, buying for them. We buy for his middle brother and his wife and their three children and we buy for his youngest brother and his wife and their son. We receive a gift from his youngest brother (BB $25 GC) and we do not receive anything from his middle brother. They will say "thanks" to my husband, but I never hear from them. I enjoy giving gifts, I'm just not sure that they are appreciated. I don't give gifts to get gifts, but it would be nice to get a Christmas card or a picture of the family. I have talked to DH about just buying for the kids and he still wants to get gifts for his brothers and their wives. I understand what you mean about having to spend more because the other person's family is larger than yours. It can be a sticly situation. You should try to talk to her as soon as possible so she knows what to expect on Christmas day. Good luck!

If anyone is interested in Halo Reach I would say that it is worth the price. My husband LOVES this game and will be playing it for a very long time.

I am done with my Niece and Nephews (4). Woohoo! I need to get all the pictures for the memory books I am making and a picture for a frame scanned. My scanner isn't working. Ugh! I have stocking stuffers for my Dad and need to buy his Pressure Cooker. I have one gift and all of the stocking stuffers for my brother. Yay! I haven't figured out what to get for my husband and I am still deciding on gifts for my Mom. Overall I am doing really well. I am so happy!

I don't like the plastic hair on the lalaloopsy dolls. Styling their hair was always my favorite thing to do when I played with my dolls. Are they hard plastic or softer plastic?

Has anyone used the Waring Pro Juice Extractor? Is it even worth $14.99? Thanks! -
Target to have first ever 4-day sale before Thanksgiving
Kibit13 replied to sweetdiggity's topic in 2010
They did do this last year, but I am not sure if you had to have a coupon or not. Hopefully this year it is automatic, but if it is I wonder if it will be one per person or household.
