This netbook has been discussed on the following thread. Check out what others had to say about it: LINK -
Your welcome. I'm glad you found something on the list that they might like. Keep in mind also to keep an eye on Toysrus sales (if you plan on buying more than one game). They often run deals starting sometime in October (can't remember if it was early in the month or late last year) up until Christmas where you either buy 1 game and get 1 half off, or you buy 2 games and get 1 free. They usually rotate those deals week to week. They also include all the new releases in the sale. This is when I usually pounce. Lol.

Ok. After talking to DS this is what I have learned. He is not fond of the racing games, he is more of a role playing gamer. He named off some of the games that he really enjoys for me. They are: Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm(surprise, surprise...lol), Blue Dragon, Enchanted Arms, Sonic Unleashed, Star Wars The Force Unleashed, Naruto the Broken Bond, and Naruto Rise of a Ninja, Dragon Ball Raging Blast, and Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit, and all of the Final Fantasy games. You can find these at Gamestop. You can go to their website and filter what you are looking at in 360 games by clicking on ESRB and scrolling to Teen. They have alot of Teen rated games. I agree with you about Target. They do not have much to choose from. I usually get all of the video games from TRU, Gamestop, or Best Buy. He added the new Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 ( released 10/12) and Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2(release 10/26) to his Christmas list today, so I figure that those are the 2 he finds most interesting on the new releases. There are lots more kids games due out before Christmas. Here is a list of some more you might consider: Bakugan Battle Brawlers (10/19) Ben 10 Ultimate Alien 10/6 DJ Hero 2 10/12 Marvel Super Hero Squad 11/09 Monster Jam 3 11/03 Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 11/08 Rock Band 3 10/19 Shaun White Skateboarding 10/19 Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2 10/19 WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2011 10/19 Tony Hawk Shred Bundle 10/19

I did a gift card from my BIL and SIL's fav restaurant and a gift card from their fav local theatre for a show. They loved that gift...thinking I'll do it again this year.

How many years have you been Black Friday-ing it?
Kim3498 replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2010
Wow. Didn't realize how long I had been going. I was 15 and went with my Mom and 2 Aunts for the first time. I thought they were nuts for getting up at 2 am to go to Sears, until I saw the madness, and of course I was hooked after that. Wow....now I'm seriously feeling old. -
I know what ya mean. I can't go in any Gamestore without DS right there with me. I reserved the Kinect while he was playing the demo, but I know he knows....Lol. He just trys to let me think he might get a surprise. It's so hard to shop for kids at this age. I will ask him what his favorite games are and which ones he thinks would be most interesting that are coming out and let you know tomorrow. I know the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 that is soon to be released will be the first one named off the list. He has the first part and that is still his favorite game for his 360. Are you looking for older games or new releases? Also wanted to let you know that I got his 360 at a great price from Dell.com. They ran a nice sale about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving, so you might wanta keep a close eye out on them. They actually took $50.00 off the system price (it was the holiday bundle with 2 games) and free shipping. That was far better than any BF deal that year. Course, the deals might be better this year since it has been out longer now.

Most of the games that I have a list of coming out for the Kinect seem to be kid friendly. The game that comes with it is alot of fun. I sat down and started to check ratings on them yesterday after reserving it. Unfortunately there are not a whole lot of games out for it, but that is always a problem when a new system comes out. DS had a ball playing with the demo yesterday.

A new Marvel game comes out for 360 11/09. It is called Marvel Super Hero Squad. Anybody need any release dates for new games your wondering about? I have the most current list with release dates from Gamestop printed yesterday, if so.

Totally agree with ya on that one. DH has a friend that is the manager at our local Gamestop and he told DH not to play these two games or Modern Warfare in front of DS12. He is a avid gamer and said he could barely stomach some of the graphics in these games himself. DS12 has had the Xbox 360 for 2 years now, and there are lots of really good games that you can get for this age group. He really enjoys the Naruto and Dragon Ball Z games (He loves fighting games, and these shows are very popular with this age group). A new Naruto game is due out 10/12 just in case your interested. It is called Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2. He also enjoys the Legos Indiana Jones, Indiana Jones 2 and Legos Batman games. DH actually likes the Legos games himself. So much so that I bought him Star Wars complete set for his PS3 (which they have had loads of fun with). DS is getting the Xbox 360 Kinect that is due to be released Nov. 4 for Christmas to go with the 360. Sortof works like the Wii only you don't need to use a controller. It picks up your body motion.

Thanks for that info. I found an article last night that said a Japanese store had leaked the release date to be Nov. 20th, but did not say for sure if it was just Japan or was coming out in US too. I'm guessing April since that is when the DSI and DSI XL was released in the past, along with those stupid Pokemon games. Never March (DS12 birthday), always has to be April. Game Stop does not even have the option to reserve them in their computer yet. Can you reserve them in Japan now?

Target is out of stock online, but all of the local Targets in my area have them in stock. You might have luck at your local Target.

This does work very well. I buy a gift every week, also and have a hidden area in the house where I put extra money aside for DS and DH gifts. I don't bother with a budget, because we never stick to it. I don't even want to think about what I have spent so far...but have gotten a lot of great deals in the process thanks to this site. We always go way overboard for Christmas. DH and I always pledge to keep our gift under $250.00 each but we never stick to that. He has already broke the rule this year by asking for a gaming laptop. Lol. I buy for DS12 (so far all he wants is video games, video games, and more video games, and the new video game Kinect that goes with XBox 360) , DH (wanting a Laptop of his own, so I guess that'll be my BF big purchase this year), Mom-$150.00, Dad-$150.00. (I am an only child, and DS is their only grandchild so they spend way to much on us, and I try to at least get em something they will love). On DH family we buy for my MIL, SIL, BIL FIL (we try to keep our gift giving limit at $50.00 each on DH family side or less considering MIL has 3 grandchildren and she wants to keep it a little lower), 2 adorable nephews (they are 24 months, and 10 years). Their ages make it a little tricky to buy for considering younger toys are sooooo much cheaper than video games (that of course the 10 year old always wants) and make the gift giving look fair. I usually try to keep their gift totals around $75.00 each. The 10 year old doesn't care (or even notice)that he got 2 gifts to his little brothers 4 cause he's too busy gushing about the cool game he just got. DH's grandma, and uncle, and my 10 cousins 17 children. For cuz's kids I find things I know they will love on clearance or deep discounts. For example about 3 weeks ago I came across Aeropostale clearance sale with additional 30% off. Bought all the tween and teen girls Aeropostale zip up hoodies regular $45.00 for $11.49 each. Couldn't pass that deal up. I got an e-mail this morning from Toys R Us with Wii Video game Nerf n strike for $9.99. Went and grabbed some of those for the boys with the Wii systems. I look at it this way...Let em think you spent more than you actually did.

That would be so awesome. Keeping my fingers crossed that TRU employee is right. I've heard mixed stories about the release date as well. Nintendo is suppose to announce the exact release date late this month. Thanks for the info. Maybe I will call our local TRU tomorrow to see what they say.

Has gamestop told you that it is definately coming out in November. I have been told by my local Gamestop manager that it is released in Japan in November, and in US in March or April of next year. Totally bummed about that. DS12 is really wanting one. Yeah, I would definately say with the new one coming out that you will be able to get a great deal on a DS Lite on BF this year. We bought DS Lites last year and stood in line starting at midnight at our local Walmart. They went really fast, so get there early, early, early. But then again, that is all the fun in BF shopping isn't it.

Have they saw the new Xbox 360 Kinect? It is due to be released 11/4. It is motion activated and sort of works like the Wii, only you don't have to use controllers. Just connects with your 360 and works with your body movement. My DS12 wasn't at all interested in it until we went into Gamestop today. He had lots of fun playing around with the demo. He had originally said something about possibly wanting the Ipad, but after leaving Gamestop he looks at me and says "That looks awesome. Gotta put it on top of my Christmas list." Aaahhh, reserved and already taken care of....Lol.
-
Hhhmmm. I had decided to go ahead with the Ipad idea myself, until I spoke to my 16 year old cousin tonight. She had originally ask for one for Christmas. After one of her friends got one, she has changed her mind. She says she is not at all impressed with it, and likes her Ipod Touch much better. I think I will take DS to BestBuy and let him play around with the display to see how he really likes it before we go that route.
-
I don't know....I've got the same problem. DS12 does want the new Nintendo 3DS. Unfortanately, that is not due to be released until March (Gamestop manager told me today that the exact date will be announced September 28th, but will definately not be out this year). I was actually thinking about the IPAD for him too. DS12 has a PS3, Wii, DS, DSI, XBox 360,PSP, laptop, and 32" flatscreen tv for his room, so I am looking for ideas too. Comeon guys, keep em coming....

What are you hoping to see on sale this Black Friday?
Kim3498 replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2010
Has Nintendo announced a set in stone date for this release? All the info that I have found online is saying due out before March 2011. That is so like Nintendo. Last year, they released the DSI XL around March I do beleive. I had bought the DSI for my son for Christmas. Of course my son then wanted the XL. EDIT: I just called my local Gamestop and the manager there tells me that the exact release date for the Nintendo 3DS will be announced September 28th. They are expecting it to be released sometime in March. Looks like that'll be DS's Birthday present next year. That puts me back to sqare one on his Christmas shopping. :no:Was gonna buy him the XL this year, but now that seems a waste. -
I ordered most of my major items on my shopping list online last year. Seeing as both of my guys are electronics junkies, everything I bought was from BestBuy. I sat up all night until the BF items finally went on sale. I think it was around 3:00 am in my time zone. Made for a LONG night, but I did get everything that I ordered.

Help buying for niece and nephew item ideas?
Kim3498 replied to davephillyj's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
There is a new Pokemon game coming out for DS October 4. It is called Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs. Toys R Us run their video games Buy one get one 1/2 off alot. That is when I usually buy my son and nephew's video games for Christmas. They are both asking for the Pokemon game and the Beyblade Medal Fusion for DS that is released 11/9. I also got some great deals on DS games on Amazon during their Gold Box specials the week of Thanksgiving. I would definately recommend checking that out if you are not finished shopping by then. Yes, I'm sure your neice would love a barbie car or jeep. -
Yeah, I had never heard it put that way either. "High quality factory copy". Lol. I had to ask twice before they answered the question, but she did answer truthfully. Thanks for looking for reviews. I looked for that as well and could not find anything, either. That is another thing that worries me about this company. Personally, I would not be comfortable with making a purchase from them. I am trying to sway my friend to buy from Dooney.com. You don't really realize the quality of a authorized Dooney until you own one.
-
Has anyone ever purchased from this store? A friend of mine is considering ordering from this company, but I am very wary of them. They are based in China. They have a live chat button to talk to a live operator, so I did that. They were very open in answering my questions. The operator I spoke too confirmed that they are "high quality factory copies". I guess that is their way of saying knockoffs without actually saying it. She also said that all shipping is free with no minimum order. Here is a link to the store. What do you all think?

Ipod for my Hubby. Please help! :)
Kim3498 replied to rhirdahn's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
DH has the Ipod Touch 32 gb. I bought that one because he travels from time to time and wanted something he could watch movies on along with listening to music. I'm amazed with how much music you can put on it. Amazon has the 8gb for $179.99 here. They have the 32gb for $269.99 here. Just depends on how much memory he would want. Sorry, we don't have a Nano, so I can't offer any info there. -
I did well....until Christmas Eve that is. DH wanted a motorcycle, but we decided that was not possible this year. It must have been meant to be, thought. My Dad has a friend who had a really nice motorcycle slightly used, that was a bit too big for him to handle. He offered it to me for a GREAT price. I couldn't pass it up so needless to say when my Dad pulled up in the drive way with that bike on the back of his truck DH was all smiles. I went a little overboard on DS as well, but it was within reason.
