I was hoping for some things that they usually have but not this year, saw a few things that I could use but probably not my first stop.

I know the feeling DD11 wants the 3D doodler from Michaels but I am not sure it will even do what she wants it to, its expensive and I would have to buy refill packs. There are enough other things on her list so I probably won't do the doodler. For your son, I would be surprised if he noticed he had other presents after he sees the dirt bike. If my boys were young again they would love the dirt bike!!!

Any clues what they will have??

Maybe I'll get more than a $10. card this year but I will be happy with the $10 Maybe a free chair too.

I am happy with a deal I just got I just bought DD 2 pairs of boots and two infinity scarfs from Payless. I used the code from here and saved 20% even on sale items and I bought an e-card from Raise.com and saved another $18.00. If I went by original prices I would have spent $148.96 and I got it all for $60.00 ( the price I paid for the gift card on Raise. (I tried all the raise coupons on here too but they are all for new customers even if I added more gift cards to get to $75.) Anyway, I was excited and wanted to share!!!

I picked up a few things for DD11. So far she is getting the a 24 piece double tipped marker set by prismacolor and one side is like a paint brush I used my 50% off coupon for that plus I used the Michael's card I bought from Raise.com which also saved me money. I am seriously considering getting more gift cards through them. I have bought her a birthstone ring and and instead of a bracelet we got her the leather necklace and a few charms. All jewelry was 60% off and an extra 10% during a Kohl's power hours and we used a 30% off coupon. Grandchild are almost all done thanks to Target during the summer. I did buy a train table for one family of grandchildren off of craigslist, but it honestly looks brand new and had lots of trains included. Most of my family lurks around this sight during this time of year so that's all I can share

What would you like to spend??

I like the idea of getting the kids involved to make the new traditions. May be you could ask them each to come up with suggestions of things they would like to do. If the ideas will work put them into a dish and draw out as many as you would like to do. This could be once a week or the few days before Christmas. Another idea that friends of ours do is a Christmas puzzle. They enjoy working on it and if you visit them during the holidays the like for you to add at least one piece to the puzzle.

Mom, me and my daughter share in the cooking. We also divide up all the leftovers to those who come and eat. Turkey, ham, green beans, succotash, collards, baked mac and cheese, mash potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, deviled eggs, watergate salad, old family recipe for a fruit salad, rolls, candied yams, maybe potato salad (mom varies on this) coconut pie, chocolate pie, lemon pie, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and probably a few other desserts, I think I am forgetting something???? I think we will have 17 people this year maybe a few more.

Years ago when DH participated he was great about ideas for the kids and even bought them 1 gift for each child from him . They would open that gift on Christmas Eve. Now my sons with children are carrying on the tradition. My parents and I buy for DD11 and always discuss what to get her, but in the end my mom says whatever you want to do....

My Dh decided about 9 years ago to stop doing Christmas with the family (long list of reasons) none of us were happy about it but we just keep doing what we want without him. I am sure your family would get over it and eventually just say oh they stopped celebrating with us a long time ago. I still spend Christmas with my kids and parents. I will go to my parents on the 19th of Dec. this year and stay until the 27th I think. I even go to my In-laws house (I have great in-laws) With the kids grown we do a gift exchange NO ONE is required to participate in the gift giving and we keep the budget $15 to $25 Some years the kids participate some years not. We do all gather to be together and see one another . My family knows I love to give to them so they are great about telling me what they want. I am also good about giving gift receipts in case I mess up and something needs to be returned. I would be disappointed and hurt if one of my kids that could come for Christmas did not come but not about giving gifts just because I want to see them. I hope you work things out so you can enjoy the holidays

I have a fake one for DD's room we then spend the week of Christmas at my moms and she has a fake one as well.

I always bring an extra pair of shoes with me changing shoes helps my feet to keep on going. Pack snacks and drinks to save time when I need a pick me up

People who take things off of the pallets before its time to shop and the employs watching the pallet letting them. People cutting in line no matter how or what the time ( in the store we have had someone get in line and bring things to the cart so we can check out faster but it is one check out if our person reaches the front of the line and we are not done yet they just let others go ahead of them ) I am sorry the smaller children bother some, my DD will take 2 of hers to her MIL but the baby will be with her (nursing) Her and her DH will go but they would never have the baby out in the cold. My DD11 will go with me but I would never leave her at a store by herself. I also miss the Friday openings!!

I checked last years ad and it looks like they had it for $14.99 plus the coupon. Not sure they will have it this year. Currently it is on sale for $26.99 with another 30% off. If you need 2 of them or spend 50 in toys you can do the $10. off then the 30%.

They emailed me the card is on the way. I hope this works just buying the giftcard saved me $30.00 so that will help. I'll post after I use it in case anybody else is interested.
