1. I went to Target in central Iowa today. (Ankeny) and Xmas was still 50% off with TONS left. I didn't bother to shop it. I don't need anything so won't buy above 75% off. I did have a run in with customer service though. I was returning a skate helmet my MIL bought. She gave me the receipt. I had it with me. Turns out she bought it with a debit card so customer service said to return it it had to go on my drivers license and count as one of my returns with no receipt! I was MAD and argued this. I had ds7 with me and I kept my cool, but was not happy. I did not do this, I had a receipt and had to stoop down and ask her to mail it to me as I knew Target is psycho about this. So I went and got my replacement WallE Leapster game to exchange for the broken one (bought on my debit card) and when I got back to customer service I asked for a manager. He said it was no problem to return it and gave me cash. I told him what had happened and he said it should have been no problem at all and he was sorry. I was so glad I had kept my cool but I was about to not when she was so irritable! I had even said that she could just put it on a gift card and that was fine... Grrrrrr
2. I know this is late, but I just found this in green for $270 at Sears.com http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00855601000P I am looking for one of these now, flexible on color. Any great suggestions?
3. DH just told me he wants to buy me one of these for my birthday in a couple of weeks. The price is now $299 after rebate. Should I still get it or will I find a better deal somewhere else? I know very little about these, just that I have wanted one for a long time... Not sure what to look for, the difference in models etc...
4. I went in to see about shipping, in case that was some error. At the end of check out it said "Freight Quote ($97.95) " Wow!
5. http://www.sundancecatalog.com/PRODUCT/Outlet/Seasonal/47265.html They also have lots of other cute things there!
6. You don't have to use it all at once, it is just easiest if you do. You only have whatever amount is on them (kind of simple to figure that out...) The thing is... say you spend it down to $6.22... you have to know exactly how much is on it so you can spend it. How I have done this, dh work gives us a $40 one for Xmas each year. I just spent it. I spent $65 on the purchase. I paid $15 in cash which brought my total down to $40 and then I used the card, and threw it away. I have noticed at Target when I check out it asks me if I want to put the whole amount on that card, so there I could just check no, $40. So, as long as you KNOW how much us on your card, you don't have to spend it all at once. But to finish off the card, just call the 1-800 number and get your balance and do these steps above... I think I made that way more complicated than I should have!
7. OMG, Artrageous, I have tears streaming down my face!!! I can completely visualize that whole thing! I want to wake DH to read it to him (but that is a bad idea... one I can see with 20/20 now!)
8. I had no clue about this!!! I did run into that at Target if you return seasonal clearance you get the cheapest price, even with a receipt. It does have a big sign that says that, at the return window.
9. Ours were all a waste of time too! I only bought one thing, a specific tree skirt I wanted at Walmart, so I got it at 50% off. (There was only 1) The newspaper and tv all were calling it another Black Friday. That was SO not true. I had one small thing in my cart at Target but it wasn't worth the wait in line. So I didn't get it. I do have to go to Walgreens now to look for the popcorn, I Bought a set at $10 as a gift. Do the gift cards on the box stack with others?
10. It is 32.75"H x 22"D so if that fits well in your ceiling, I can't see why not. We are just getting ready to do ours in this finish also (but we have standard ceiling, so this is a no go there!) Did you find any specials on fixtures? This project is going slow as I refuse to buy things at full price!
11. Like others, the Wii wins hands down, and many of their presents were wii related, wireless nunchuck things, rechargable battery packs, mari kart, 4 wheels, 4 remotes, cooking mama, wii fit, wii ski, diego safari, Tiger Woods Golf (dh is playing it now, he loves it) I Spy, and I am sure other things wii... Other than that, the santa bags were a big hit to ME but the kids didn't notice. They love their air guitar Guitar Hero, but I think DH and I will put ours in the gift closet (we never opened them) but keep the expansion kits because more than 3 playing at a time is a headache (heck ONE playing can be!) They are fun too, I've been using them. The Me2 is big with all 3 boys, 10, 7, and 4. My SIL liked them so much they bought them for both of their kids, girl is 6, boy is 9. The boys have been doing jumping jacks, running up and down the stairs, etc... with them on to get more points (like a pedometer) We are looking forward to playing Totally 80s Trivial Pursuit at New Years. No one was thrilled with clothes and I bought 3 pair of Crocs Axles (they are more winter friendly) and they are TERRIBLE!!! The opening to slip your foot in is so tiny they can't get them on without SERIOUS force from DH or me. It HURST them to get them on. I am so mad about this. DH favorite gift was the big Shabby Chic blanket (from BF) at Target. I got it based on GD recommendations. He has a ratty twin blanket he uses in bed so I got this nice big fluffy king one for us to sleep under together. He said it was the most thoughtful gift ever. Awwwww The least favorite gifts are still coming... we get them at a Christmas next month. They are always the same, boys always get a case of football cards. Girls get Bitty Baby furniture (they even get to pick it out) I have all boys. Every year. I might as well list them on Craigslist now. Last year we sold them for $10. We returned them to WalMart one year for $40, but that is much harder to do these days!
12. In Ankeny, Iowa, the ponies were marked down to $135 or real close. Some toys were 30% off, not many, none more. Xmas decor was 50%. I almost got wrapping paper, but there was a bunch, I don't NEED it, and so I am waiting to see if it goes cheaper.
13. I had used Item Not as Described, which it wasn't. But I had opened it (as I didn't KNOW they weren't as described) and had customer service call me and they sent me a return label. They said there would be NO return shipping charge, and I checked on this several times in the conversation. It came through today, deducting $1.84 for shipping. I called them and they said they'd give me a $20 credit for the problem!!! OK!
14. Just a note, they also now have the tags shaped as a dog bone and as a heart, they are on the email so should still be the same price. As for pictures... I put pictures of us at the pumpkin patch, one of all 4 boys, and one of each child. I plan to use them as embellishments on scrapbook pages. I wish I was more organized so I knew what other ones I needed!
15. I got an email today Thank you for your purchase of dog tag from us and it should be arrived to your place already. The shipment delay was due to the crazy promotion of $0.99 dog tags, over 8,000 orders received within 2 days (10/30/2008 & 10/31/2008), and over 5,000 orders followed afterward in 2 weeks. That came to a total of 100,000pcs dog tags needed to be produced. (All these 100,000 dog tags were with different photos). Our regular daily production is around 1,000pcs dog tags ONLY, this sudden increase of dog tag orders make our "Print on Demand" business model almost crashed. Thanks to our 60 regular and temporary staff overtime working, we have overcome the most difficult time, and all 100,000pcs dog tags were shipped before 12/10/2008, and 99% of dog tag orders can be arrived before Christmas for stocking stuffers. We apologize for the shipment delay for dog tags, but that is an incident. In generally, orders are expected to arrive in about 8-12 business days after they are placed. As to show our sincere apologize, we are now offering a new compensation coupon code. It is for $0.99 dog tags with free shipping, just for you to re-order in case you love our dog tags. Coupon Code 99TAGS expires 1/16/09 http://www.artscow.com/diy/tags The coupon code is applicable to any dog tags styles (regular, bone and heart shapes), $0.99 for single side, and $1.99 for two sides. We all know it is too good to be true to have ArtsCow offering $0.99 dog tag with free shipping, and our staff and production line are ready to take this impossible mission again (No more delay). Applying the new production technology and the dog tag will be even clearer since now. Best Regards, Berry Chief Executive Officer ArtsCow.com
16. I'm waiting for 2 Me2, The Rock Band air guitar sets plus expansion sets, air mattresses (WalMarts are cheap!) Hmmmm.... I think that is it. And the air matresses are for New Years Eve so I am not in total panic yet
17. You can get a free 8x10 picture from Walgreens through 12/20 at www.walgreens.com with the code FREEGIFT
18. WalMart photo center has some packages and I've always been happy with their pictures.
19. Here is a link and pic (I am finally figuring out how to do all of this I think)
20. My UPS guy has ignored my REFUSED SHIPMENT package 2 days in a row, he puts the new package ON this one, so you KNOW he sees it. What do I do? I never see the UPS guy.
21. If she still takes care of herself, single serving meals that are easy to prepare. My grandmother's both lived at home into their 90s and started to eat pretty poorly because they didn't want to cook a meal for themselves. Like some Lean Cuisines, or other lunch style single serving meals at the grocery store. You could make them yourself too, just put into single serving size containers. My one grandma LOVED pedicures. LOVED them. So we'd get her a gift certificate for a pedicure and take her (she couldn't drive anymore) If she can still see well, perhaps a subscription to a magazine (my one LOVED tabloids and People)
22. That is cute too, but OOS... DH just told me no anyways He is such a party pooper!
23. I just want the snowman kit part, not the goodies! LOL I think I will wait. We have a hat and scarf and I could see this one getting stollen.
24. each transaction would have a Paypal transaction ID# and a walmart order #. it's very easy for them to automatically find orders that were returned and debit that $ from the person's PP account. and if the PP account doesn't have a balance, they'll take it from your CC or checking account. Thanks for that, it makes sense. I have thought about getting another Wii game, one that is $50 or something, but I am trying hard to not buying random things just because they are on sale (dh has been snooping into my purchases lately... he doesn't complain about the money, just that we don't need the stuff!)
