  1. Yea knew about this a while ago and the stores here were kinda shocked and dissapointed. Then again my gut told me they might wait till the yen gets weaker. To launch it now in the USA would be bad business. They would have to sell it for about $350 USD which would be a hard sell considering he poor USA economy. Though why not just launch it here in December? I mean most stores here are only allowing residents and citizens to buy the 3DS at launch here. They do not want tourists flocking here and buying them all up only to sell them when they get back home.
  2. Yes about 92 in all but I would say about 15 of them are way too young to have candy and such things. Yea I have access to a copy machine it is 10 yen a copy.
  3. I've said this before but my best deal I ever got was at Best Buy. I got there 2 hours before open. I had a $50 giftcard and I wanted the HDTV they had on sale. Long story short I got the HDTV (not a big ticket item). I got to the register and showed the cashier the ad. She gave me the $200 rebate. I got home and saw the receipt said it was a mail in rebate for $200. Thus giving me $400 off the HDTV + the $50 giftcard I had so I paid about $45 for the TV.
  4. I have 40 older kids that can do a craft. Ages are 8 to 16. I have 52 little kids 1 to 7 who are cute but crafts are just coloring.
  5. Great thread as I NEED craft ideas for the kiddies!! Snowmen they can do. I like the marble magnets but the instructions are impossible to understand and where can I get those marbles? Not here.... unless someone wanted to ship me a bag or two... What else can Japanese kids do? It has to be safe, I do NOT have an oven so no baking, it has to be something they can do in 10 to 15 minutes tops. It also has to be something easy to explain or demonstrate. My Japanese is limited and their English is a work in progress.

  7. Never camped. Stayed in line 4 hours with friends once. That's about it for me. My memory is not great but last year I think I got a camera at Best Buy for my long vacation I took (was in line 45 minutes), year before that I ummm was in line for 4 hours with friends? I forget cause there was one year my Japanese ex visited me and she was shocked about BF and did not like it. That is a whole other post.... This year of course I will be too far away and might shop online if shipping prices are fair. Though I am sure midnight USA time is about 10am here so I will be at work of course.
  8. I think there are better deals to be had year round just from looking on this site!!!
  9. I would like to help but... - I am 14 hours or so difference time zone wise - I have very little computer skills
  10. It's November for Japan. I was told by the Japanese game store they won't be selling any to non residents and they require proof of residency. If that is the case then it sounds like it won't be out in The States till later as why the requirements? Or they just want to make sure residents (who frequent the store more often than some tourist) get a 3DS first
  11. You can get one here for cheap. Though the exchange rate + shipping it comes out to about $100 USD
  12. "Searches for the popular collectible Japanese erasers called Iwako erasers shaped like cute animals, fruits and vegetables are getting stronger on Google. " Wat? How are those popular in the USA? Of all the things here in Japan the weird erasers are popular?
  13. Those coupons from the fast food coupon books from a fast food place are good to compliment a gift. I used to buy the BK books for Halloween and hand them out for treats and use quite a few myself too..
  14. Ok these Squinkies would be GREAT for my kids I teach. Small (chibi), and cute (kawaii). How much are they? What do they do? Are they like pencil toppers? the homepage tells me nothing!!
  15. I am waiting on the ads and seeing if there is anything cheap. No need for electronics as daily prices here are far cheaper than anything I have ever seen on BF. Also wondering if online shipping extends to Japan for cheap. If not oh well... November 11th is the launch date for Japan. i suspect the same day for the USA based on the fact that the games are due to launch on that day http://www.play.com/Games/DS/4-/15573453/Dragon-Ball/Product.html
  16. I am going to say maybe as I have noticed netbooks for 12000 yen here new. I am also going to predict HD camcorders will be cheaper than expected as well. Also 3D TVs as the prices here are getting decent.
  17. No BF for me this year. I am going to live vicariously though a few GDers on here though!!
  18. The album is screwy! I tried to upload a few pics to my private album and once I got past the new format I realized I can not change the order of the pics. I re-added a pic and now the pic is moved to the front. I shouldn't care but I wanted the pic in the same location it was.
  19. The green stands out now. Much better! :)
  20. I see it now but yea make it another colour as it blends in with the orange bar on top. I mean you don't have to change the colour as I now know where it is but that is my two centums.
  21. How do I know if I have a PM? I was used to the green highlighted thingy. Now I dont see anything and if it is there you have done a mighty fine job of making it subtle. :)
  22. I got my Westinghouse 27" HDTV on BF years ago and it is working great. I do agree about the audio so I bought a set of speakers and hooked them up to the TV and it sounds great.
