  1. We usually get the teacher's a candle and a $10.00 GC to a Teacher's store.
  2. It really depends. Right now I have four kids ranging from 21 months to 6 years. The two older ones are asking for the Wii's and the Ipods, but also asking for things like Etch-a-Sketch and Candyland. I try to keep it simple 10-12 per child with a movie in the stocking and I'll label the big gifts to be for all the kids. (Wii)
  3. I started thanks to my kids. They watched Santa Clause 1 & 2 twice this week, so far. And also an real old one (early 80's) called, A Sesame Street Christmas. It's real old...Kermit's in it as is Mr. Hooper (No Alan). Gordon's still thin as a rail, Maria's with some skinny black guy, not her hubby and most of all....No Elmo!!!!!
  4. I think it's safe to say we have four Christmas Traditions every year in my family. 1- Shop BF!! 2- I read "The Night Before Christmas" to my kids before putting them to bed. 3- My wife wakes me when she gets home from work. (usually around 3am.) and I play Santa. 4- My dad's family usually has a Holiday get-together every year. It's a pot-luck dinner/dessert. We bring a polyana gift ($20-30) and throw them into a pile, then pick oldest to youngest. Sometimes we make games out of it. Kinda dorky....but it's the Holidays..what do you expect??
  5. Hey Y'all!! I'm @ work now and can't really check into it, but can anyone telll me if you can still use the 10/75 coupon if you buy a $75.00 GC @ TRU?? Any info will be helpful. Thanks.
  6. I started with some of the stuff that's been hard to get a hold of, (A Wii, Pat-Pat Rocket, Rose Petal Cottage w/ accessories.) but I'll do 65-75% of the shopping on BF! Problem is this year.....my wife is going with me. She doesn't have the self-control that I do!!
  7. How do you know they're sitting on them til BF?? Just wondering? As for the topic.....I agree that it sucks, but it the store has a certain quota to meet during their biggest sale time of the season, then there's really nothing that can be done about it unless you want to call corporate and complain.
  8. Depending on what time I get home on BF!! LOL!!! Usually, BF Night or that weekend.
  9. Forgot about: A Simpson Christmas! Original SouthPark Christmas
  10. It's sad that in three pages.....only two responses held my all-time favorite Christmas Movie.....and one of them was a Muppet Version of the story. The original version of "A Christmas Carol." Others NL Christmas Vacation A Christmas Story Santa Clause The Movie (hate #2) Polar Express It's a Wonderful Life Charlie Brown Christmas

    Disney Store

Last year they had the 20%, not to mention a sale on PJ's and movies. They also had a flier in the Sunday paper this weekend with a 15% coupon to be used on the entire order. (Online or in store) And a 15% for a "friend" coupon.
  12. Deptford, NJ and no I won't be wearing the GD shirt.....srry. Gotta save my $$$ or gifts for my wife and kids!!
  13. Someone did that to a friend of mine two years ago at TRU. I ran into her and she was carrrying a bundle. She said someone dumped her items and took off with her cart. I felt bad for her since she was recovering from back surgery and talked with a manager, then ran out and got her another one. (They were only letting in a few hundred people at a time back then.) She gave me a 20% coupon as a reward.
  14. Christ!! They stare at me like I'm about to rob the place when I walk in!! There's always about seven people in the single check-out they have open, with the eighty year old cashier taking forever to get a price-check because the three teen-agers working the service desk are outside drinking red-bulls, talking about how K-Mart sux!! Anyway.......what was the question again??
  15. Most of you know what I;m talking about. You either go out early to get that "Gotta Have" toy of the season!! You rush into the store and get it early, then continue shopping, only to go to the check-out and find someone lifted it from your cart! Never happened to me, but my wife swears she caught someone eyeing a toy a few years back at TRU. Anyways.....discuss.
  16. What about the Home Depot section? They have small builder's kits. (Birdhouse, Firetruck, etc.) My son got one last year and it held up til my youngest DS shoved it down two flights of steps. Most of them can be put together with a screwdriver and usually takes someone a half-hour to bulid it. You can paint them as well. You can also look into model cars/planes, science discovery toys, small model rockets, or chemistry sets.
  17. What about a portable DVD Player. (7-9" screen) My neice got one last year and loves the fact that she can go to her room to watch her fav. movies in her room in peace w/o her younger brother changing the channel on her. The're about $50.00-$70.00 this time of year. GC's to the mall/shopping center work too. Let's them choose the stores they actually like.
  18. Best- Too many to great gifts to name. Worst- Christmas of 1996. My mom, being the Queen of dropping subtile hints." Wanted to tell me that I was packing on some weight. (I balooned up to 230 from 215 during the holidays that year.) So......that year, she gave me an abflex, a GC to a Big and tall shop and a three month supply of weight-loss products from GNC. Thanks Ma!!! I got her back about three weeks later. She had friends over for lunch and I went and got a pr of the biggest pants I could find at the B&T and modeled them for her. She seemed surprised as I threw up my hands and gave her a big thank you and let them fall, revealing flesh-colored boxers with 2 grapefruits painted on the front. She didn't talk to me for a month.
  19. Or do you take advantage of the deals (like TRU weekend doorbusters) prior and after?? Discuss. I'll answer later.
  20. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My kids got to the paper and took out the ad!!! I can't find it!!!!! M'eh!!
  21. What's the disappointment about?? It's not like it's the BF ads. They're trying to move some of their product prior to the mayhem of BF. Every store is doing the same thing.
  22. They always open @ 7am on BF. Most stores open @ 5am. Me and the missus usually make Target the stop after TRU and BB!!
  23. It depends on how I do playing poker the night before. Seriously!!! My Dad's family get's together after Turkey and play poker for two hours. (dealer choice) The last four holidays, I've walked away with up to a quarter of what I spent on BF! ($100.00-150.00) We start off only playing for quarters, but by the end of the game, my uncles are breaking out the twenties left and right. LOL!!
