As I write this, we are being visited yet again!this time by First Coast news and Channel 4(again). Jim, if you could only see the booms and the lights! It is absolutely crazy! They are getting scoops on our morning routines.
-
Channel 4 and Fox 30 have been on us all day today! They are here now raising their booms on the big trucks for live broadcasts. The funny thing is that Fox 30 did not ask us for a time slot, so they have to wait!
-
We were just interviewed by FOX 30 and they will be airing it at 5:30 this afternoon. The reporter was doing a segment on doorbusters and they had been filming the tents and media hub. They keyed in on the Gottadeal shirt, and the doorbuster info on the back! We talked about the Gottadeal website and they were very impresssed with the deals that can be had in the best Buy ad. They will be coming back for another segment in a few days.

I hope you feel better! I will do all i can from here at Best Buy to help all that need it. I just need to work out power issues during the day.

Drat! Scandalous! Treachery! Good luck Jim! -
If it meant getting the same advantage as i enjoy here, then yes! I used to live in Western New York, in a little town Called Marilla. It is very close to East Aurora. Some may recognize that name, because it was the home of Fisher Price Toys before Mattel bought them. I respect those who have it hard. I know how cold it can get there, and we have it relatively easy here. In respect to the northern climes, it is extremely humane to open at a more hospitable hour, and nobody has touched on this aspect. It is a very smart move considering customers over opening times. I can still remember Indian Summers giving way to blinding, lake effect snow storms off of the great lakes. I was there for the Blizzard of'77-'78. Then in March, there was an ice storm. I strapped on my ice skates and skated up and down the streets. Good times!

It is sad that the long love-affair with the $300 Sony Vaio discount has come to an end.......
-
You may have noticed mine, which is actually a small stove, but heats just as well.
-
Since I checked the weather, I did not bring out the cold weather gear, including the portable fire pit that comes with me on rare, cold BFs.

Competition can be heady at times. That is why i do not divulge my arrival time! It also pays to talk to the proper people as you stated, as it gives you a leg up on the crowd.
-
Excellent question! We have a group of people, so the camping supplies are mainly my duty and they can transport overly large items like TVs. Most friends pick up items at the store, so between us, and the two vehicles I take, it works out well. i can also borrow a church trailer if needed.

They currently have great deals running on the following with reasonable shipping charges to the US: Alien Anthology About $26. US price at Amazon $67. They run great Blu-ray deals on other sets like Life, Planet Earth, Planet of the Apes Complete collection, etc. All sets when on sale blow Amazon USA out of the water. Now, they are going to promote a Black Friday sale which will be different from their American counterparts, so stay tuned and perhaps some great hidden deals will be unearthed here!

Hello all! I am in the process of uploading a short video for those who have heard about those of us that camp, have seen the tents, but have never had the back-story to just what goes into group camp-outs. Most of the hardcore campers do so at Best Buy, so that takes a bit of preperation, especially if you bring most of the gear. The attempt here was to show you what it takes to get 6-10 people ready for Black Friday. [video=youtube_share;wll6GGuzy5k]http-~~-//youtu.be/wll6GGuzy5k I hope you find it useful! Jaymacfla

It is also nice to get rid of the mad dash items beforehand by getting them online.

STATEMENT: Black Friday Midnight Opening and Our Employees
jaymacfla replied to bigjimslade's topic in 2011
Here is my personal take on the situation: Best Buy is hurting. There are market indicators that show their market share is in rapid decline. Any person who has access to the internet can pull up this info and the myriad of conjecture stories that surround the ultimate demise of Best Buy if they do not pull out of this downward trend. Employees who do not recognize the importance of their beloved company's bottom line are only helping to contribute to that decline. Remember when loyalty meant something? Instead, all we hear is whining and complaining and petitions circulating around. I firmly believe that this now proves once and for all that Walmart and Target, coupled with the online monster Amazon are Best Buy's major competition. They can no longer fool the public and some people here to that extent that the previously mentioned stores are not major contributors to that decline in sales. For once, Best Buy is trying to show what we knew they were capable of long ago. A great showing in an economy which needs a leader in the industry with a sale that all will remember long into the next year. For those employees who are away from their loved ones on Thanksgiving, we feel for you, but your company needs you in it's hour of need and they are counting on you to help them. Do not demonize the customer as some other Best Buy employees have done. They are your bread and butter, and your very job depends upon your daily performance and your treatment of them. We appreciate all that you do, so make us proud! This part if the statement says it best: "The holiday season has always been a busy time for our retail employees. The best thing we can do, each day, is to help our company grow, so we can continue to provide good jobs through the continuation of great customer experiences." -
In Southampton county, isn't that known as a spot of tea?

You still have time to resolve this. Get in touch with corporate and report the store. You may also get a clear copy of the ad that states the policy on it and show it to The store manager before taking this step. They must comply. There is no variance on this issue, and it is lies and subterfuge when they tell you otherwise. There have been reports of certain locations using this tactic and then keeping the items for their own pleasure. You see, it is easier to say that all of the tickets were taken that way by the time they round the corner of the store. My previous store Manager, and I say previous was caught red handed doing this very thing. There are laws that prevent these stores from having less than what was advertised. You have a right to know what number is on a ticket (yes, they are required to number the tickets) , and they had better have 10 if the ad says so. If they do not, they had better have, say 3 tickets and 7 substitutes/warehouse orders. Saying, "This is a small store" doesn't cut it. I have dealt with many situations and you must be prepared to respectfully fight for what is right. A calm demeanor and a willingness to accept a substitute, can mean a world of difference to your success.

When you do get an interview, if you have an airbed, they flip out over it.
