  1. A couple of years ago, the electric stove style heater was $10 cheaper.
  2. Two of my favorites are, "My Bollywood Bride" and "When Harry tries to Marry".
  3. You do realize that you can join me here in Jacksonville, don't you???? I am sorry to hear about your dad. The mayo clinic is the best, they will take good care of him. The possibility of you joining me makes my day. I have extra gear, so the camp will already be waiting!
  4. It was not meant as a lecture. I was just relating a story to give you a child's perspective of gift combining.
  5. First of all, thanks for the ad. With that out of the way, now the bad. The ad is absolutely atrocious. Now the good. I expected this from Gamestop, and now you have the option of price-matching anything you absolutely need at Walmart or other places. I believe that you will see real deals on the PS3 and XBOX 360's from Walmart and Best Buy, so this ad can be picked clean for the matchable items and then largely forgotten. The only thing worth noting is the Battlefield 4 offer, which most of the kids will want. I played the beta, so it is a good buy, but please get it price-matched if you can.
  6. It is amazing how incredibly stupid this move is!!!
  7. Yeah, saw this over at the other main site. The last 3 items look interesting....now for pricing.
  8. As I recall, they employed the additions at Best Buy online and those that brought the list with them didn't have to wait for the supplemental list from store management to be printed out. It gave us a bit more time than others had to make up their minds which items we were going to get, or change up on. I remember in 2006-2007 we were busting on silly items like Justin Timberlake CDs or High School Musical game, but they always seemed to draw some that just had to have them!

  10. Here is another funny one http://theawesomer.com/mega-mart-black-friday/
  11. Two years ago (2011) we had a bad rainstorm which flooded some people out. They went away for the night, and later in the evening, about 11PM a guy walks up and starts inquiring about the tent and whether anyone was staying in it. I heard someone say that "they left, but were coming back tomorrow" and didn't think much about it that night. When we woke up in the morning, the tent was gone! Sure enough, the owners of the tent came back with fresh supplies and asked where the tent was. I had overheard the guy say that he was going to meet up with some friends at the other Best Buy in town. One of the members of the affected party made a trip over to Best Buy and sure enough, the tent was there! The funny thing was that it had rained hard again that night and the guy who stole it had to abandon it also! Being principled people, they picked it up and later threw it out at an undisclosed location.
  12. We will be pulling for you to get your dad the help he needs. You are always welcome here if you need to take a few days leave if you can. We now have a few items to discuss, namely Walmart's big gambit, The strike, whether real or staged, and what best Buy will do if Walmart pulls out all of the stops.
  13. I am hoping Walmart will commit to the secret sales early. Best Buy usually caves when Walmart does this. I remember the arguments back in the day that Walmart was not a major competitor to Best Buy. From 2006 to 2008, we saw that Best Buy was indeed concerned about it, even if some Black Friday shoppers didn't think so. After 2008, we saw Best Buy release a few secret items(remember the secret laptop?), but none like the previous years.
  14. http://www.examiner.com/article/black-friday-2013-predictions-walmart-prepares-for-biggest-sales-deals-day-ever Pretty much the same, but notice the strike plug.
  15. http://www.mediapost.com/publications/article/211276/walmart-plans-biggest-black-friday-ever.html#axzz2hxsQS0yZ Can anybody say secret sales?
  16. As I recall, your mall management company has a strict rule concerning line up times and even camping.
  17. I think that Best Buy will continue to employ the 12:01 tactic to technically say that they still open on Black Friday. It also keeps them out of the media in a negative way. We are now a couple of years into the time adjustment, so people are gradually coming to accept this and either stay home, or go out anyway . It does give people who never had a chance a fresh perspective on the deals though!
  18. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed this!
  19. I really like the winch for my 2 story barn!
  20. I was beginning to worry about you!!! Welcome back friend!
  21. Spot on people!!! Congrats!
  22. There are so many, it is hard to decide on just one! I am enjoying the TV deals, Blu-ray's, and electronics or techie item that I can get my hands on for a great BF price. Since I build my own computers, getting parts on sale is a big plus. 2 years ago, I got comped(upgraded) on 2 ticketed TVs so that would be the best deal next to the 2 Toshiba deals from last year.
  23. Being a child born on Thanksgiving,(November 26) I had to endure the "Since it is so close to Christmas, I will just combine your gifts" statement from relatives constantly This usually meant that they would come over for cake and ice cream but stiff me on the gift until Christmas, when I usually got a shirt, or some other lame gift. Now, couple that with a Grandmother who already combined gifts into one for 5 boys to share, and you can see how that can make a kid feel like growing up. I raised 5 children, and they never had to share any gift. One of my boys was born on November 30th, and the first wife's birthday was on December 1, which made it tough, but I learned to lower the gift values and teach the kids patience. Although they never got a first edition or launch day item, they learned that eventually all things will come to those who wait, and usually any bugs the first editions had were worked out by the time the price fell into the affordable range.
  24. St. Pete is very competitive. Do you know Klownicle? Are you a best buy shopper? Just like bigjimslade, this is a shout out to all those who would want to join our camp. PM me for details. I also bring extra tents, etc.
  25. Most will have an hour, then the Walking Dead comes on.... :gd_domoku :gd_domoku
