While generally not funny, some pranksters are willing to try to push the buttons:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ND_dufZ5cJ8

Those universally disliked line jumpers! All too often they appear solo, or in groups. Let's discuss our best strategies on how to deal with them. Do you have horror stories? Nothing is scarier than having your coveted spot stolen by a line jumper and lose out on that big ticket item. Did you make friends with people in front of you only to have them disrespect you by having their whole family arrive at the last minute? Sometimes, the worst betrayal is from line mates who lie to your face and take everything from you. There are also funny stories that come out of the unsuccessful line jumper's attempt to steal from others. Lets hear them! Time to wake up the boards and get on your soap boxes! http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/82138912/

There was a lady who didn't like the idea of me being out on the line all week without a thanksgiving dinner. I told her that I appreciated her concern but i would be fine. She said that on thanksgiving, her son would deliver me something, and sure enough, a couple of plates of the most delicious food arrived! Her son said that his mom has always been a person who had kept her word, and I will always remember her kindness and love of traditional values.

We have the friendliest people here and although many on other BF sites do not say it, it is obvious in their chosen words to flirt with the idea that the campers are somehow to blame for this sudden shift in shopping hours. Our willingness to shun traditional dinner with cousin Meg, or uncle Paul only stiffens their resolve to place us literally at the scene of the crime, due to our location itself being the evidence against us. I, for one, started out trying to please everybody. Thursday just did not work anymore, as the relatives would lie around the house, refusing to leave at a decent hour in order for us to get out to the line on time. I remember when 4PM on Thursday was good to go. then it was 8 AM. The next time was The day prior. We tried every possible way to please the family. One year we finally had enough when a certain relative showed up sick, after coming in from a dialysis appointment. If you have ever been through this type of treatment, you should not be dropped off at a relative's door running a temperature and expecting to be fed a feast! Needless to say, our relative ruined the day for everyone, and had to be taken away by ambulance. My wife and half of the family spent the rest of that day in the emergency room/hospital. The next year, I held dinners on Saturday, and it was a move that I have never regretted. Lie around the house. Spend the night. Marvel at the new BF electronics. Eat until you can't move, just come happy and healthy is all we ask of anyone. We still find time to do Thanksgiving dinners at Best Buy from time to time. I have a Youtube (Ray McCarty)channel set up where you can view our videos. One video shows last years Thanksgiving meal on the line.

Steam is a solid choice and value. Any deal from game stop should Be scrutinized.

Amazon.com has upped their minimum shipping requirement from $25 to $35

Not a big fan of this price increase. They must be wearing their bravado hats to expect more when others in the industry are coming down to help the consumer. -
They did a much better job last year of beating digital distribution competitors like Steam, which happened after Black Friday into December.

Excellent! -
That sounds like an expensive way just to pick up a Chihuahua!

Gottadeal is in the lead by a rather wide margin!

I feel bad for those who do not or will not change their shopping habits. Old traditions are hard to break. Those that stick to old traditions also seem very quick to jump on those who embrace change and the opportunities that it offers them. I wish the times had stayed the same so their would not be such discord. We are generally congenial group here and I hope that the emotions will not get in the way. Some of you will find other ways to shop, like online sales. Others will get someone to score deals for them. Eventually, most of you will forget this bump in the road over time and realize that time with your family can be what you make it and when you make it, not just some mystical day that the Government says you have off. Being from a Military background, adjusting to adversity is a way of life. Often, a holiday was subject to change or skipped altogether. Our reunions were the holidays and weekends became precious. I invite some of you to consider that change and move your celebrations to Saturday. This works for us, even though we still find the time (every other year or so 2010/2012) to prepare thanksgiving meals on Thursday and transport them to the line at Best Buy for a friends and family feast.

At first, I thought it was 6th ave electronics, but sadly, it is now closed. I bought a TV from them in 2010.

But you WILL be in the news here! We are the guys who attract the media like flies. Your kids will love seeing their dad take care of his dad and at the end of it all score some deals and keep the tradition going in some way. My son is in the Marines now, so although BF isn't the same without him, California just gained some serious BF competition in Oceanside!

The Dvds may be the ONLY reason to go there. This ad is atrocious. Last year they gave $30 style discounts and this year they will not even show up to play fair. The batteries are ok, and the rest is a meh....................................

Sounds like eating a massive pile of syrup laden cakes in a rental car!

Way too overpriced for the quality.

From time to time, Best Buy allows vendors to serve the people food and drink. On one occasion, my wife was anxious to get some boiled peanuts(southern thing) and some hot chocolate. Both items were cold. The vendor did not have a heating solution for my wife when she found both the peanuts and the chocolate stone cold. I then witnessed my wife yelling at the line "You might as well go back, it's all cold"!!! The line immediately dispersed and the vendors packed up in disgrace and sped away. We then offered people in line hot chocolate throughout the night. This scenario would serve us well in later years to keep the goodwill going and make it memorable.

The shirt you see as my avatar is my own design. We will be wearing this and Gottadeal shirts.

That's what I do, share the older shirts.

When did you move? I see you are in Redmond.

Hello all. I was recently talking with other groups that either camp, line up, or shop together as a group. I have always wanted to do our own custom shirts, but was worried about the cost, design and what our defining statement would be. One great point that was brought up was to have a group name for ourselves. After much thought, our group name will be the "Black Friday Vacationers". This is because in order to remain competitive, we must take vacation from our respective jobs. I have already designed the shirts and we hope to get enough interest to make the overall cost go down for our small group. Our objective is to market them to close friends and family members who support us. In addition to wearing the custom shirt, the Gotta-deal anniversary shirt will also be worn during newscasts (like previous years shirts) and hopefully during live-stream events which are in the planning stages right now, so keep your fingers crossed for us! Do you plan on making custom shirts or will you wear the anniversary shirt? or both? I have added a poll to see how you are leaning on this subject. Have fun! Edited poll to include previous edition Gottadeal shirts!

It is still early. perhaps there will still be comparable offers. Walmart should price match bogos: We gladly match the price in the following types of ads:*Buy one, get one free ads with a specified price Example: Buy one for $2.49, get one free (BOGO)Competitors' ads that feature a specific item for a specified pricePreferred shopping card prices for specific items that are in a printed adFor fresh produce and meat items when the price is offered in the same unit type (lb. for lb.; each for each)
