  1. And there you have it, possibly a new record!
  2. Best Buy had better do something. They just put the 4k TVs on the Friends and Family sale online at Sears, and they have layaway.....I have an itchy trigger finger for that 55 inch!

    Dunhams?

This gets asked every year. I promise to not add a picture of Jeff and the gang this year...
  4. See if Walmart carries it. Take the target ad with you and price-match it during the hours stated in the ad.
  5. In accordance with riven3d, the scans are not high enough in resolution to determine which seasons are on sale. Someone else has volunteered to make the educated guesses, based upon the covers and side artwork. This will take some time.
  6. We will consider this question answered. Closing thread.
  7. My son actually ended up like Eric Cartman in that episode! It took him 2 years and 175 lbs to recover from the World of Warcraft. You can actually see his transformation from WOW (addicted) player to U. S. Marine in the pictures I have posted online. BTW, he still loves Hot Pockets! I thought it was half of a story! Can't wait!
  8. Is your son a grown man, or living in the house? If he is still under your roof, as research have him look up the following brands that Walmart usually sells for a song: Hisense Seiki Funai Sceptre Cielo Element Emerson Your $98 TV should be in this group of contenders. The reviews will tell you all you need to know about a $98 TV.
  9. They should be handing out Febreeze spritzers that attach to the shopping cart, or if you are in the south, your buggy.
  10. I am going to recommend the spreadsheet that Stationchief puts out. Appliances are unfortunately not considered hot items, but are valid necessities when one needs to be replaced.
  11. Closing thread due to inactivity.
  12. We had another great after show chat. I am going to see what i can do with the connection outside of best Buy(when I camp) to bring any last minute details to you if they surface. I will be here this week if anyone needs help with the ad items or any hotter than black Friday deals you find.
  13. Now that the Gottadeal Tee shirt contests are over, here is a chance to win one of two Black Friday Vacationers Tee shirts, officially sponsored by Gottadeal! The Gottadeal logo is proudly displayed on the back of the shirt, along with other sponsors who helped make this and the banner that was produced a reality. The color being offered is gold, and the size will be your choice of either a large or XL. Here is how it is going to work: One shirt will be offered to the first person who catches us camping at Best Buy by walking up to us and saying, "Gottadeal sent me, where's my shirt?". You will be photographed with members of the Vacationers (at the banner)and the picture will be posted back here for all the members to see. Taz, a Gottadeal member who is already in the area from New York and will probably camp with us, is not eligible for a shirt. He will already be wearing the group's blue shirt. The other shirt will be offered to the first person who can catch us camping at Best Buy via the news media outlets. Acceptable reports are official news stories featuring 2013 newscasts of our location and identifiable members in the story. The easiest ones are the national networks ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX and even CNN. We have found our stories all over the country from 2010, 2011, and 2012. Post your link on this thread as quickly as possible. upon confirmation, We will get your address, and priority mail your shirt to you. PS. There is another way to get a shirt. You can join us! Let us know what you think of this promotion. have fun in the hunt! Many thanks to Brad for supporting us.
  14. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-BDV-E3100-Channel-Blu-ray-Built-In/dp/B00BI22U3O/ref=lh_ni_t?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Although not wireless, for $247, this could be a great alternative if you can splice wires to adapt to your needs!
  15. Soundbars are fine, but not for surround sound. You may just have to wait for a few more ads to come out, especially Newegg, Fry's, etc. I built one from the ground up using different stores to find what I needed. Best Buy used to have great deals on the receivers, but this year, it misses the mark by $100. I actually have two 500 watt systems, but the other is run by one of my computers. You can snag some great deals on piece-meal items to build a great system if you shop around.
  16. Of course it is! Insignia TVs are made with LG internals. I own both Insignia and LG TVs. (And Toshiba s from last year!)
  17. 5:00 sounds like a gamble to me. You are basically betting on the clientele who shop there to fall for the least expensive sets. Good luck, and let us know if you get one.
  18. LG 55-Inch LED Smart TV - 55LN5790 HDTV and Sound Bar with $200 PROMO eGift Card http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/category.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&category_id=6816&~ck=bt&sort=price&p=2 You got me started! here is another great deal! $850.99 The model at Dell seems to be a slightly newer run of the Best Buy BF deal(which does not include the sound bar and gift card).
  19. Personally, this is the best way to do this. Print, and go. No offense to spreadsheets, but I need a battle-map, and this is just the right format! Thank you for doing this. The TV seasons are also very popular. I was fortunate to get the entire BD series copy of Weeds at Walmart.com, now I am going to have to get rid of my single season sealed BDs!
  20. By now, most of you have seen what the major players have to offer. The reports around the web are not favorable for my favorite store on Black Friday. Even my overly-excited, front page popping TV offering euphoria has worn out it's welcome. It seems like they are not willing to even play the last minute addition game that Sears is going and doing right now, with supplemental flyers. Did anyone see the latest offering by sears? A 4K HDTV 55 inches for $849? Only 2 per store, but at least they have to be given credit for offering it! Now, let's flash back to 2006, 2007. Best Buy was being ridiculed for having mediocre ads. I remember the complaints on the line in front of the store, until they passed out a supplemental flyer that saved the day with some last minute great offerings. Could Best Buy do this again? We have heard talk of this revival of the competition between Walmart and Best Buy, even though many did not seem to think they were even in the same category to compete. Now, back to the 4K TV. This was "predicted" and then just magically surfaced. My question to you is then, "Where are the cheap Plasmas, and LCD TVs which are missing from the predictions?" We have heard that Plasma is on it's way out. This should not be construed as a "Pass" by retailers who want to get them cleared off their shelves. What I am hinting at is the possibility that we may see these in the form of "Secret sale" items, and possibly in the cards as ticketed items in supplemental flyers to be handed out. I know that we have employees from Best Buy and other stores that frequent these boards. If you are hiding these items from us then I salute you. Good play on your part and put out the best jab when you swing for the shopping dollar this season. On the other hand, of this is all we can expect from the ad, this should be considered a 4th quarter challenge to bring out the best you can, and compete like no other electronics retailer can. What is your prediction for Best Buy? Do you think they are hiding anything? Let's hear it from you, the forum members!
  21. If you are in line, don't forget to grab those 24 (2011's offering on a 24 inch was an LCD for the same price!)and 39 inch LED Insignia TVs! people do not talk them up, yet they sell out in minutes! The 39 inch may be ticketed this year. It is not getting a lot of love for a couple of reasons. First, it is not what many consider a brand name. Secondly, compared to last years offering, at first glance it seems like a downgrade. Last year, we had the $179 Toshiba LCD. This years offering, although an inch smaller, is an LED. Both are 60hz. If the LED panel turns out to be an LG, this could be a great little TV for the price. Update: LG is the manufacturer of Insignia branded TVs. All of the internals are last year's production run. There are different manufacturers of panels, so you may get whatever compilable panel they can put in the set to finish the order for Best Buy. Overall, the success of the brand is largely due to LG reliability.
  22. I am going to assume that you are talking about items which would have an hour guarantee. There are a couple of things that you can do. First, there should be a person or persons running the line. If the line is properly managed, it should not take long to pass out tickets. If the line is backed up, politely tell them you are there for a ticket and note the time and even take a picture of the employee so that they remember you, "Say cheese!" This has worked remarkably well when trying to get a ticket during hectic times. Above all, before the sale starts, get with your manager over the store that actually knows the procedure and they will probably tell you that the line will be blocked off after a certain time. In other words, you are good to go if you are in line BEFORE the hour is up. Good luck, and great question BTW.
  23. You have a really good recap of our price matching thread! Walmart does not honor ANY online match, even their own online component. Bring an ORIGINAL, authentic ad from the newspaper with you.
  24. 4.6 out of 5 94% of reviewers would recommend this product to a friend (46 out of 49)
  25. I know that best Buy is doing this, but Walmart is typically the type of store that doesn't deliver from the store via delivery truck or van. I bet some opportunistic teenagers with pickup trucks could offer Black Friday deliveries if they put the word out in time.
