  1. Generally it is organized, but one store I go to is perpetually understaffed, and they are often like that for clearance. They don't always tag the stuff, they just hit the price sheet they work from and move on. So be sure to scan some stuff you know is on sale.
  2. NO, NO, NO!! Absolutely untrue. That is ONLY true for seasonal merchandise. You get back what you paid for all other clearance items. And in some states you get it back for seasonal. I do this all the time, and so do several other members of the group. Read the return policy next time you stop by the store. It is posted in Guest Services. They won't price adjust it for you. And you cannot (generally) simply re-buy it for the lower price on the spot. They have a corporate policy that items have to be re-shelved before they can be re-purchased but some stores break that rule.
  3. I lived in the midwest as a kid (all those blizzards in the 70s) and in Harbin, China (up on the Russian border - 40 below zero Christmas day), so I have had my cold experience. No thanks!:yuck:
  4. Okay, I don't do this often, but a little gloat is good once in awhile. Today was sunny and 85 degrees. Tomorrow should be the same. I have 2 Targets within 5 minutes of my house (opposite directions). Another 4 within 20 minutes and another 7 within a 30 minute drive..... Maybe we can't afford to buy a house in this insane state, but there are SOME advantages!!
  5. The philosophy body wash (only one sent) and a couple white cabinets were 30% two days after put on the floor! About ten days later and those few things are still the only stuff marked down. They just marked the rest of the merchandise today, so you might check back. We had 2 sets of the body wash here.
  6. they were marked down before the rest of the stuff.
  7. The Target Home Design Event merchandise, formerly known as Global Bazaar, is already at 30% off!! It has only been 2 weeks! The bad news is that they red ticketed it, which means no 90% off this year!! Booo!! Still, there are some nice things in there I intend to pick up. Even the employees were shocked that it is going so fast. I guess they want to push Garden stuff into the stores. Also, they were starting to move the bulk stuff, without markdowns, to the regular aisles to make way for Valentines.
  8. For the after Christmas Toy clearance, they often do that.
  9. if your store usually does it Thursday, it will probably be Thursday. They vary slightly by location.
  10. no. they do their online clearance completely different. Sometimes items clearanced in store will still be full price online.
  11. I've had that experience as well. A number of times items scan NOF and then full price at the register. I just say, "Oh, I thought that was cheaper, I don't want it for that price." I have also had them able to pull up a price. So, as long as I know that I may not get it for a good price, I just don't sweat it.
  12. It is funny that sometimes it goes back to full price, and other it is just Not on File. Usually it is easy to get the items that are NOF, but when they go back to full price, you are usually SOL, even fussing. They just say sorry. At least in my experience. I was lucky to get the Coke today since it was already NOF.
  13. Christmas has now gone salvage....but I found 12 of 4 bottle packs of Christmas Coke right on the shelf. I couldn't remember the price, so I named $.39 each and got them for that. The cashier (who knows me pretty well) had to ask the manager, but she told him I would pitch a fit if I didn't get them, so he ok'ed it. :) So, now DH will have plenty of Coke for awhile.

  15. The mark down team only works M-F and they work hours like 5-3 or something close. Holiday/Seasonal clearance is not done manually by them, it is done through Corporate so they don't need to scan things item by item.
  16. Absolutely. They have the big S'Mores pony on clearance too.
  17. Do you happen to have the DPCI? I bought one for a gift back at full price, but can't find the receipt. I'd like to try tracking another one or two down.
  18. Gotta say, they are so full of it. The mark down information comes through to the mark down team on their PDAs from corporate. They don't know the day ahead of time what is going to be marked down. I have gotten to know the team at my primary store pretty well, and they really don't have any reason to lie to me. I buy them coffee and pastries from time to time, and they are very friendly. They have told me that they get surprised a lot of times expecting something to get marked down on a particular schedule, and it doesn't happen. Or it gets marked down faster than usual. So, honestly, I don't think anyone at the store level has any more idea than we do when it will be marked down.
  19. The radio just said that the markdowns start in a week. I'm in LA so it is part of the news.
  20. the special packaging ones that came out a bit before Christmas. There are 2 different 2 packs of the medium/large ones, and 2 different packs of 5 small ones.
  21. I've kept it from Christmas till Easter for Bdays and it was still good for months after. I would just keep it sealed up in the manufacturer's packaging if possible. And if not, ziplock it to keep air from it.
  22. Oh! SO JEALOUS! I meant to grab a couple of the lawn chairs they had with those, and now they are in the new spring garden set and back to full price!!! So, if you want those tables, grab them quick!
  23. I keep forgetting to mention that one of the Kone & Kurv vacuums are on sale. Bought the Kurv last year and found it was a piece of junk with no suction to speak of, but others on here liked it. However, to Marypat58, everyone who bought the broom last year seemed to think it was useless. If anyone feels otherwise, please feel free to correct me, but that was what was generally posted.
