  1. No, they were 50%. I am swamped with work, and there is so little left that I'll probably go out this morning for a bit, but I won't hit more than a couple of stores. Did you find much?
  2. They did not have the dishwasher tabs. I haven't seen the trash bags for a couple of years. They did have regular hand dish soap, but I still have some from 3 years ago! I did get the softsoap hand soap. They still have some of the cinnamon scent (red) ones at a few stores. Check the regular aisle. It rang up full price the first day, but got marked down on day 2. I managed to get Ziploc bags and LOADS of aluminum foil. I wish I had gotten more of the nonstick foil as I use more of that than the regular, but I got some of both. I had coupons on both the foil & ziplocs, so I was happy.
  3. Actually, it seems that all the stores that went early had large amounts left over. Seems more like they mark it down faster if they have a lot more to unload. Around here the stores are practically barren. No bows to be found, which is about all I wanted to get at 75%.
  4. Not sure about elsewhere but around here the cashiers don't have a clue. You can ask them, and they'll tell you their opinion (they all have one), but they are almost never accurate.
  5. anyone else check yet? I really don't want to rush around this morning, so if I know it didn't go, I won't bother.
  6. My best guess is Jan 13/14, but I will be ready the 7th just in case! It always depends a bit on how much they have left and how much they need to move. Most stores seem pretty wiped out, so I don't think they'll rush it.
  7. Walmart is completely unpredictable from store to store. Our store has nothing marked down. And based on history, they won't for 2-3 months.
  8. The thing is that it is NOT regular price $49.99. A lot of 3rd party sellers will create a "regular" price that is outrageous, as here, and then "discount" it. This sells for $10 on Walmart.com http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10082593
  9. I would return them and say they are cheap and chip too easily. Worst case they say no, but I've never had them not take something back if I had a receipt. It is not reasonable to think something would do that.
  10. Most counties & states have laws against that. If you encounter it again, I'd push and call the 800 number, but only if there is a lot of the same item in stocked under the sign. They don't have to honor it for misplaced items, but if they stocked a bunch of stuff there, they do. You can also report them to your county weights & measures (they are the ones who verify scanner prices and make sure the gas stations are giving you correct amounts, etc.). They fine them on a store by store basis when they are wrong.
  11. Most of the stores around here (I went to 7 after Christmas) are sold out of Legos, so there weren't any or many on clearance. Just depends on the store. They tend to sell out before they go 75% with just a few boxes still around for the full clearance price. They also tend not to lower them to 50% but go from 30% to 75%. Legos are one of the things I have bought a lot of over the last few years, so I watch them like a hawk.
  12. Return them before they go lower! Yeah, cheap porcelain really does chip that easily.
  13. Yes, it started before Christmas. Some stores already have stuff at 50%, so be sure to check things. I got the Littlest Pet Shop tin for 50% off at one store. At another it was only 30%.
  14. Well, I feel better that everyone found mostly similar situations to mine. I didn't expect a lot since all the news reports said it would be slim pickings because stores were ordering more carefully. I went to 7 Targets, and only 2 had much left. I managed to get most of what I wanted and hadn't hidden anything. Kind of wish I had...The one thing I always buy are the little Kelly dolls, and I had a hard time finding a full set of 3 across 7 stores!! I finally found some lights at the last 2 stores. Those in SoCal, I found that Baldwin Park & Rosemead seemed to have the most left. Toys are grim....
  15. Really lots! Varies by store, but one of our stores had a fair amount at 50% already. I am planning to use my 10% shopping day for Saturday, so I guess I'll get the gotta haves that are at 50% already!
  16. Just curious if it is only here or if other areas of the country are also seeing fairly bare shelves already. Things still looked good even a couple of days ago for after Christmas shopping, but I stopped by today and both of my closest stores are looking pretty shabby. One store has already started consolidating Christmas and moved mini-seasonal to the area with the wrap and decorations. They have started stocking storage stuff up there. They are filling a whole aisle of Christmas with toys because they don't have other seasonal merchandise. The trees are completely gone at both stores. A tiny section of lights, maybe 3 feet wide and all Phillips. Not much in toys, either. It is really dismal. I don't have high hopes for either the after Christmas nor the toy clearance. Maybe there will be more coming, but all the news reports say otherwise. Stores stocked pretty lean this year to avoid leftovers. I guess it might have worked.
  17. Ah, but are you in South or North. I wouldn't be surprised if they have it in Houston and down to toward Brownsville. But not up around Austin or north of there. But even Houston gets cold and ice storms in the winter, and we only get those every 50 years or so in LA. They are doing clearance now, but they'll be bringing in the new stuff before you blink!
  18. Lucky you. Can't say that I have EVER had a good experience at one in my area. In my mom's area it is fine. But not in SoCal!
  19. Seems to be in the warmer areas. We have it here in CA and the other poster was in FL.
  20. There is another thread about zhu zhus only, and they seem to be showing up everywhere here at the last minute before Christmas. I've seen them at my 2 stores here that I go to every morning after dropping off the kiddos at school for 3 days in a row. They are getting them daily at TRU and Walmart is supposed to have them all next week too. I think the manufacturer must have finally gotten caught up with demand. But....your kids don't know that... so you STILL get to be the coolest mom around.
  21. No, it is a ripoff. Regular price is $39.99 at Lego.com
  22. worth checking back, too. our stores have put them out 2 days in a row.
  23. no markdowns on our video games, but it looks like the Tom Toms got salvaged.
  24. had them at 2 stores here in CA also.
  25. That's funny, but it sounds like you have girls if you are going to see the princess movie. Took my 6 & 8 year old boys, and they loved it. Been looking forward to the DVD, too. They also like movies like Spy Kids, though. Ice Age they enjoyed, but I offered to buy the DVD when one of them was sick and he didn't even blink and said no way.
