I've seen several of these on end caps in electronics in various stores.

We downloaded the ones our 8 year old takes, and we made it the screen saver for the computer they use in the living room.

started a month or two ago. printed in the center of the Sunday circular. now they are putting up more signs. I've done it a few times. you just have to go to guest services.

Wish there was some way to use up all my points on the old system if they do!

Was doing a MAJOR set of returns today and ran into something new. They limited the total value of what I could return to $500. I had just over that, and they cashier suggested taking it to another store, but it was pretty annoying. Anyone else ever have that? It isn't like it is a regular issue, but if I can think of a couple of items in garden that could put you over that in a minute.

Eek! Going to have to check mine. I'd just take them back and tell them what happened. You can't prove it, but just point out that even though they were only $12.50 (they already got the $10 for the mfg coupon, so they'll refund that to you), you can't use them because the main piece is missing.

Oh, I agree. And that is why I have gone round and round with them. It makes me crazy that they don't simply train their employees and have it applied across the board. Of course, my own preference is to get it as cheap as possible, so if it just was on clearance, I'll push them to look it up, since I know what the price should be. But if it has been very long, sometimes they put the price back to full in the system, and it works against you. So, more often than not, I try my best to pick a cashier I think will just ask me the price. I sympathize with what happened. It is the inconsistency more than anything else that makes me crazy.

It actually is their official policy to enter the last price they have in the computer if they can find it. If it has a red tag on it and it rings up NOF, they are supposed to enter what is on the tag. It stinks, but that really is the official policy. I've gone round and round with a manager or two and phone customer service on the issue. Some have suggested removing the red sticker, but it is illegal and tantamount to shoplifting in most states, so not recommended. I forget what they call it, but basically something to the effect of trying to hide the actual price - yes despite the fact that it might have gone cheaper... Oh, good call on the funtainer, IMHO. We went through about 4 of them before giving up because they all leaked. I bought one and returned it 3 times thinking there was a bad batch. I finally decided they just leaked. Made a huge mess in DS' lunch box.

Yes. This has happened before. Remember when all those toys got recalled? It happened a lot then. It has also happened to me with some of the Smith Hawken stuff in the past. Usually it is because they have found something wrong with it, and the manufacturer wants it back. Sometimes it is lead levels, sometimes something else.

They are considered sporting goods, and they've already clearanced that department, so yes for the clearance question. However, they always seem to have good deals on those around Christmas time each year, so I would expect to see some good deals for Black Friday if not before. 2 years ago Target included a $10 off coupon in the toy coupon book for them. So, I'd wait and see. Of course, if you are worried about them not having them left, you could always get one and hold the receipt. You have 90 days for the return, so at least you'd know you had it.

anyone who has bought the HSM/POTC or Hanna video cameras...if you open it, can you confirm whether you can change the face plate to anything you want or just leave it empty? I was thinking of giving this to an older child, but am a bit hesitant. I'd love to hear if someone has bought it and opened it already.

Yes, those are the ones. The HSM one has an interchangeable face plate with POTC. The Hannah one, I think, says you can put in your own photo, so probably you could for the other one too.

Our Kids Video cameras still have not budged!!! I had her scan them to be sure. SO FRUSTRATED!!

Almost forgot, they were marking the majority of the cordless tools down yesterday. Not everything, but a substantial part of the department went 30% off. Drills, sanders, multi-tool sets.

This generally happens where one store has less selling space (smaller store) or has more local competition (Walmart & Home Depot across the street) in a particular department. We have one smaller store that simply closed the garden center entirely because they had Walmart & HD around the corner and could not compete in that area. The same store has a smaller foot print in general and often puts stuff on clearance that other stores are still selling.

They have done the same thing the last 2-3 years. They typically just stick a new bar code sticker over the old one.

Yeah, that just screams class action lawsuit, but the 5% all the time thing might be nice given how much I obviously shop there. I guess we'll see if it happens here.

It could be test marketing or a state law change. Just curious, did they say how they would credit customers for existing points? I have 35,000 points on my Red Card as I use it for my business.

Post It Note cubes that have 20% extra or 20% more on it are part of the BTS clearance. Many, many found in the regular office supplies aisle. They are $1.12 at 75% off. If they ring up $3.23 and the rest of BTS is 75%, ask a price change team member to scan it. I got about 20 at 3 different stores. My entire trunk is full of paper, pens, highlighters and scissors for my boy's elementary. Now I have to find a way to get over there with it since I don't do pickup for the car pool till Friday, and I know it is killing my mileage! I want to give our teachers first shot at what they want. :-)

Either that is local or a new policy because I don't get that when I bring in mine!
