  1. FINALLY got some school supplies 75% off. They were actually just marking in the regular stationery section, but I slipped a few items in that I wanted, and they got marked down. I was glad because when I asked, the girl said maybe Wednesday. So now I have trunk full of stuff to tote over to my kid's teachers and the office.
  2. Just my $.02, but this is where it really pays to get to know which cashiers will simply ask you the price. I have 2-3 at my primary store who will always just ask if I know the price and sell it to me. It doesn't always work at other stores, but if you can scope them out and see if they seem to know what they are doing it helps. If they look like a pro without an attitude or if they look like they don't care, then I'll go there. I will often go through the garden center checkout with these kinds of things too. Less likely to call a manager. I have generally found that on busy days when the cart attendant (wearing the tell tale reflective vest) is called to cashier duty that they will almost always ask me the price. I have been known to get in arguments with the "managers" from time to time over this. I always call and report it to the 800 number, though, as they shouldn't have it on the floor if they won't sell it. Ticks me off.
  3. Yeah, ours are all still 50%. Those digital cameras you mention are also 50% at $24.98
  4. Those are the ones I was watching. I waited a full hour for the price change team to get there and they checked them and they did not drop. I will be swinging back by another store later this afternoon as they have switched to doing electronics last in the day. Maybe they'll have done it.
  5. Growl! I wasted an hour waiting on these to be marked down this morning and they stayed the same price they've been for 3 weeks!!!
  6. Walmart isn't even an option for us here. There are so few stores that you have to drive too far to get there and the crowds are like what they had in NJ when that poor security guard got killed last year. It just isn't worth the time and effort needed for me personally. They have never had stuff I was willing to fight that hard for, particularly and not get it! So, I'll line up at Target early this year. Too bad I won't get to hit TRU first, though. That's what I've done the last couple of years.
  7. anyone see movement on the video cameras yesterday? I was hoping to see them marked down, but ours stayed the same. They FINALLY marked BTS 30% this morning.
  8. Last year they were part of the College stuff, and I think this year too. I bought one last year for DS room
  9. One of our stores marked them 50% today, late morning.
  10. unfortunately, the walmart's do their clearance store by store, so it is hard to know if a deal is available elsewhere.
  11. yes, they do. the new ones simply hold more books than the old ones. leapster is great about backward compatibility, too.
  12. They generally seem to mark it all down at roughly the same time nationwide anyway. We all moaned and complained last year about this as well. But it is because other areas of the country haven't started. Our kids don't start back until next Thursday, the 10th.
  13. None of the books are on clearance, just the TAG system itself. The books were on clearance during the big toy clearance last month. But someone reported that Kmart has some on sale. Plus there is a $4 Q for them.

  15. " Thanks for posting this, my Target had 2 left! What a great deal! I also scored a Tag system, now waiting on the books to go on sale!!! these are full price around here.
  16. Don't know about the TQ for Leapster. Where is it from?
  17. Yeah, they were late marking at our stores today as well. Toys are usually done by 8am, but it was late afternoon when I was able to swing by, and they'd just done it. One store still hadn't done theirs yet. Maybe tomorrow. They were the only ones with swim stuff left.
  18. I got 6 of the TAGs for $1.40 each after mfg Q & $10 off $100 store Q (I had a couple of other things). I also got some Swiss Army Knife gift sets with a standard & keychain knife. Our Cub Scouts need to learn whittling, and most of the kids don't have knives, so it will be a nice treat. They were $5.XX each. School supplies still full price.
  19. Target, OSH & Ralphs (Kroger) have it out here
  20. the minute maid deal is gone. they figured it out.
  21. Based on what I hear from people working for manufacturers & wholesale distributors, this is happening more and more with the downturn. I was just reading in a toy industry magazine that they are expecting to see a lot more "hot" toys this Christmas season because stores aren't going to be stocking as much merchandise. They simply don't want to risk getting stuck with excess merchandise. So until the economy turns around, we may be seeing less available for clearance. And, if the stores get better at it, it may continue even after...
