Interesting, I've tried with about 20 different DPCIs, and it has not worked in months. Tried again today. Same thing.

Well, there you go. Confirmation from 2 sites. The other site was a Cars Toys collecting site, so 2 unrelated people say the same. Yes, $11.98 for the set. It is interesting because I punched in the numbers of the large Power Miners sets, which I was hoping to return and re-buy, but it was still showing 50%. I will try again this morning to see if it got marked at the end of the day.

It was the Republic Fighter Tank #7679. If it is the same as the website, the DPCI is 204-00-0582.

Some stores still have stuff in the back, but most don't seem to. However, people continue to return stuff, and there are always new things showing up, it seems. Plus there are the people who buy several of an item at 50%, then return them all at 75% hoping to get them when they re-shelve them. Sometimes you can get really lucky when that happens.

Well, after answering you earlier, I went back to check on a Star Wars Lego set that I hid a couple of weeks back. I had to move it this AM before it got marked as they were rearranging the aisle where it was hidden. I got it! Very pleased. Anyway, I checked the tents at this store and they were 50%. I went ahead and got the one for DS, but I noticed the one you want was also 50%.

No one has been able to answer this authoritatively. I have asked Target employees, and they don't know either. The best guess I've heard on another forum is "Not Carried Forward."

They didn't even go 50% yet, so it could be a few weeks. They are considered Sporting Goods rather than toys. Sometimes after Christmas they'll skip the 50% drop, but in my experience, these usually go through the whole cycle. I feel your pain. We are waiting for the Star Wars one (the big one, not the small one). DS had one from last Christmas, but it got destroyed. I will only replace it at 75%.

Pasadena, Eagle Rock & Glendale stores all 75%. Got more than I expected. :-) 1 store did mark down at night. The team told me that they made them come in late to do it and they'd never done it before. They DID NOT like it. But they were shopping along with us this morning. They were all on break. When I went to Glendale I nearly croaked because they were marking and the team lead told me to make my selections and they'd mark them for me!!

Stopped by several stores today and saw very, very little even left. None had gone 75%. Not going to bother going back to any but my 2 local stores tomorrow (well, okay maybe I'll go the other direction and try some other stores). The sad thing was how many people approached me in Target parking lots to sell me random junk or clean my windshield. This is all new over the last month. Some pretty desperate people.

They were marking it at one of my stores this morning when I was there. The price change team lady bought one on break, and a manager was hoping they would still be there when she got off work. I thought that was nice. There was at least one set of pans on an endcap they missed, so it still showed the 50% price.

Yeah, I hope so too as I had planned for tomorrow. I have returns to make too, so I'll go visit some stores farther away and buy at 50% if they still have stuff I want. I can always return it at the local store and try to get it back. I can't get back around to the other stores Friday, so better than nothing...

Spoke to one of the price change team today and she confirmed what someone else reported that it looks like they will be marking toys on Friday. We chatted and I commented that they were trying to keep us on our toes. She said "yeah, they've been moving all the departments around a lot lately." She meant in terms of markdown. So, they seem to be, at minimum, experimenting with changing up the day of the week that they are doing them. So, though I'll be there tomorrow morning because I always am, it looks like Friday morning.

someone was looking for a toy kitchen. It was on a high shelf, so I couldn't see it, but there was a Step 2 kitchen in the clearance toys at one store. Oh, yeah. That happens. They get pushed back a day. The point earlier is only that they don't work overnight. One of our stores went 50%-75% last Friday because they were behind by a day.

The price change team does not work past 3pm, so I find it extremely doubtful. Unless they were to decide to treat it like seasonal clearance and do it from national, and they have never done anything like that. However, depending on your source, they could simply mean that the team will work Friday morning (they come in at about 4am) and do it for Friday morning open. I've seen that many, many times.

Yes, with the exception of seasonal which comes through corporate rather than the price change team marking it manually. The schedule is on the first page of the thread.

In only found him at one of the stores I shopped. I looked to be able to report elsewhere, but didn't see any more. If your store had some stuff go 75% and only had a couple of them, there is a good chance.

Probably not. This store was just behind schedule. It seemed like all the stores I visited that had a bit more left. There were 2 stores that had not marked down as much, but they had far less on the shelves. That's where I stashed the couple of things I wanted to get later.

Went to my normal 2 stores after dropping the kiddos off at school and found the 2nd store had marked toys down this morning. Decided to bite the bullet and buy the Legos at 50% and use my 10% shopping day. So, the I decided to trail around to several other stores and found most of the ones in our area had done the same, and most of what I wanted was already 75%. Not that there was much. Only the one store has many Legos. Got a couple of Space Police & several of the Power Miners sets. Hid a larger Star Wars set at one store not far away. Found the Spy Gear video RC car for $25. Will NOT give that to DS! Might sell it to re-coup some of what I spent. All in all a good day and it means I don't have to go out next week. Oh, and I got a Spike for $32.

No, they haven't. They marked the solar garden lights (well most of them), but not the tools.

True, but it is applied less consistently across stores during the Christmas clearance because a LOT of other factors come into play. During the rest of the year sales also vary from store to store, but the vagaries of what actually makes it to the warehouses and stores also makes it a lot less predictable than the rest of the year. The stock comes into the ports at the coasts (mostly here in CA), and then because of winter weather, it may or may not make it to the distribution centers all the way across the country (or it gets there late in the season). Or it gets there but doesn't get to all stores in a district or region because of weather. Or sales are lighter because of the crazy weather in December and January (particularly this year). It is the same reason that some smaller stores will clearance an item months before the rest of the chain. They determine what sits on the shelves based on what is selling and the margins, etc, but the January clearance is quite different than the summer one for all those reasons.

Yes, they almost always do. There are always toys that go 30% before Christmas and those often go 75% before the rest. The January toy clearance is not the most sensible thing. They often do screwy things, and it just seems like this year is a bit screwier than most. The toy in your post is 30% here at multiple stores.

Last year's toy clearance was late, so I am hoping that it is tomorrow. I can manage tomorrow easily. Oh, and I just can't help myself. I keep hearing all this talk on the radio about it being so cold everywhere. And so many people on here keep talking about snow storms and ice, and all that. And I lived through storms like that for many years, so I have some sympathy. And, it is not that we have perfect weather or anything. We get earthquakes and hideous wildfires (like last summer) and floods and mudslides that follow in the fire zones. But all that said, I've been wearing shorts all day and had to run the car AC today as I was running around. So, hitting up 8-9 Targets tomorrow for toy clearance would be just fine...
