ME! ME! ME! Can't help myself and don't know why as it may be a quiet Christmas this year for us (unexpected bills recently...). But I'm still ready to see more ads and come here often....

Yes.... LOL

I have one of the zipper bags, keep it in the bottom of my work tote in case I need to stop somewhere...

What are some of your Black Friday traditions (besides shopping)?
mgmckny replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2008
ooh, now this is a tradition I could get into!:) -
Heck if I'd known about the drawstring backpacks I'd have gotten them for the boys to use for school, not supposed to have "bulky" backpacks...
-
My niece was out of the Barbie stage by this age, that's why I started getting her jewelry (plus I think that was the year that my brother finally let her get her ears pierced...) I got a birthstone ring for my birthday the year I was 11, still have it. It was a treasured gift (only allowed to wear it to church etc, until I was older as there were a lot of "thefts" in the locker room in school).
-
Does anyone else use them? I wonder if Brad could get some made with the GottaDeal logo at a reasonable price and if GD members would be interested in purchasing them to use for their shopping.... Any thoughts? (I also like ballcaps and know that lots of us wear those). I would rather advertise Gottadeal than Walmart when I shop(or even carry junk back and forth to work)

I'm a little further north and usually it's just cool enough to keep the bugs down. If we have a wet fall it might be different but other than the moths around the lights, I haven't seen a lot... -
Gift cards for music? Does she like jewelry? I started getting my niece inexpensive (but real silver) pieces at first but now that she's 16 I'm buying a nice piece of jewelry that will last (still not overly expensive but expensive looking--eg a turquoise pendent set in sterling silver, birthstone earrings, etc).

Mine are very opinionated now that they are older, but when they were little I could pick things out for them and then build the excitement about the item so they would be thrilled about it when they opened it.
-
I might be back camping out at Best BUy this year. Still not 100% though.
-
I'm going to say early October. But there are a lot of great deals out there now if you know what's on your lists and in your budgets....

My ds 11's biggest hit was a real tool kit that he hadn't asked for and had shown no interest in until my brother gave it to him. My older child only wanted a Zune so he was happy.

I voted 3x but 4 or 5x is actually better (there's a lot of me to love). And I am willing to buy a shirt....

How many years have you been going shopping on Black Friday?
mgmckny replied to ChristmasShopping's topic in 2008
Without having to go to work afterwards about 15 years. But when I worked retail, I hit a lot of other stores on the way to mine or the first couple of hours, we would make runs down the mall to the big stores for their giveaways. I did that for at least the last 8 to 10 years I worked retail (left in 1995 for a "normal" job). -

No real traditions except that I like to make our Christmas tree decision (if it's not already up from the year before LOL) -
Pink but only if you can get them in very large sizes, I'm size challenged LOL!

If gas prices weren't so high, I would consider that...But from Florida, a little far. -
I love the skull candy ear buds. My ds 14 jacked mine and now I have to get some new ones. Of course now I might buy the green ones that match my nano, he's not likely to take those!

Jacksonville, FL but haven't a clue yet where. So many stores have opened near each other and not too far away. If the Best Buy is open near the Town Center Mall, I might do that as I will have Target, Staples, Best Buy and a multitude of other options (Town Center is an open air mall). -
What things are you going to bring with you while waiting in line?
mgmckny replied to darkwiggles's topic in 2008
Money, ds lite, ipod--It's generally not real cold here and although I might bring a chair as my back is getting older, I like to travel light! -
That one grabs me. I hate line crashers too that rush the line as the doors open. Even though some stores are getting better at stopping this.

Don't know if I've done this right but Amazon has the Camp Rock soundtrack for 3.99 as an MP3 album download today only. Not a big fan but the price is good. Look under Music for the mp3 downloads and the daily deal is usually in the upper left side of the screen. I've found a few good bargains, mostly oldies but goodies....

I used to go by myself because dh is a big chicken, those mean ladies at toys r us beat him up about 12 years ago when I sent him there to get 2 items. But now my boys want to go with me so we'll see. The older one went 2 years ago and did okay, my younger one is really restless, so I don't know.

Part of me keeps thinking it's too soon. But part of me is kind of excited and has been thinking about the season already anyway...
