  1. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51AqFeAPoqL._SL500_AA280_.jpg http://www.amazon.com/Mario-Sonic-at-Olympic-Games/dp/B000R3BNE2/ref=pd_ts_vg_62?ie=UTF8&s=videogames $39.99 ... $10 off normal price. This is fun, bit tricky for younger kids to actually place high enough to get trophies. But it is fun.
  2. Man, wish I had seen the Wii games last night! I ordered Dogz but would have loved to have Horsez too!!
  3. I wonder how long the lines will be for this...I have been planning on going to get this at least once Thurs. I've had this sandwich two times. It's soo much smaller than Chick Fil As for the same price. One time the sandwich wasn't great (meat was tinier than a regular cheeseburger), the other time it was super juicy. (but still a bit small, just not AS small).
  4. "So if I spend $50 on a gift card (get a $10 free gc) ...can I use that 50 gc to buy another $50 GF (and of course get a second 10 gc) ???????? " Most stores now have big signs up saying you currently cannot buy a GC with another GC. Some people have actually been banned from stores for doing this GC rollover and the mgrs are threatening to call the police. Personally, I was happy with a 20% "return" on my money. It's a free pack of diapers for my DD from Kmart. I have 2 in diapers now and every little bit helps. I used the rest of the money to buy dog food (which they have coupons on right now) and cereal and snack foods which were on sale. I also went to Sears and got a free $10 from them. I verified that Sears gift cards can be used in the portrait studio before buying a GC there. I probably spend $400 a year in the studio, so an extra $10 there means an extra portrait sheet for Grandma. I was going to get Mother's Day photos this month anyways :) getting 20% back on my money is better than the 10% back that Kroger grocery stores are currently offering...
  5. The manual pump is also cheaper than anywhere else, as is most of the Avent line. I bought some Avent stuff from Target on sale a couple weeks ago, then noticed the next day Amazon was less. The Target stuff went back. Just an FYI, Avent is NOT BPA free, if that is a concern. I haven't decided whether it is or not for me, but the pumps work great.
  6. Amazon has it in stock for $49.99. I know, I know, no discount, but also no tax and free shipping. http://www.amazon.com/Mario-Kart-Wii-Wheel/dp/B000XJNTNS/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1209701250&sr=8-1 If I buy it at Costco instead, I only save $1.50 after tax. And I know I spent more than that in gas driving to Costco. extra wheel is $9.99 on amazon, too. trying to decide if it is worth it, we have it for gamecube already and no one plays it. I think my son would rather get Lego Indiana Jones in June and I'd rather get Wii Fit :)
  7. I had Tracfones for years before joining my mom's cell plan. I travelled across the country with them. Reception seemed to be bad in areas with mountains. We liked the fact you didn't have to buy minutes every month for it. They are running Mother Day Specials on their website. For $50 you get phones that come with a "double minutes for life" card. So when you pay $20 at Walmart for another 60 min, you'll get 120 min instead. if you do a google search for "tracfone specials" you can find some really good bonus code deals that will get you extra minutes for your phone at the time of activation. Even if you don't need a lot of minutes but the minutes roll over (as long as you keep the number active) and you can buy the cheapest card at walmart every few months. Actually, I think if you only need it for 4 months, I think you only have to buy one more card after you buy the phone. A 60 min card ($20 card) lasts for 90 days. I think the cards that come with the phones usually last for 30 or 60 days.
  8. honestly, stuffing can get pretty expensive. I would shop around and see if you can get a good deal on stuffing first. Most fabric stores have clearance sections and you can get good deals on fabric in many spots. but stuffing is harder to find deals on. It might be cheaper to buy large floor pillows honestly. Check Big Lots, Walmart..... depends on how big you want to make them and if you want them in certain colors/patterns.
  9. I've been looking for a camera for over a year. I FINALLY bought one this weekend. I knew I wanted a Canon camera, and one that had good zoom. I bought the new SD 1100 last week from Best Buy, but really had qualms that the 3x zoom just wasn't going to cut it. So I never opened the box and continued my search. I need to take it back this week. I read TONS of technology forums and one of the top cameras that kept coming up was the Canon A720IS. It's got image stabilization, 8mp 6x zoom. http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-cameras/canon-powershot-a720-is/4505-6501_7-32471270.html Here's one company's opinion of the best cameras under $200. http://reviews.cnet.com/best-budget-cameras/?tag=lnav My Dad swears by his Sony cameras, but I WILL not buy a Sony because everything else in my house uses SD cards so I insisted our new camera takes SD cards. What I ended up buying was a Canon A650 that was on clearance at Costco. My budget was $250 but we went ahead and splurged and bought this one. It was $299 and came with a Canon printer. We didn't need the printer but I like Costco's 90 day return policy (with no restocking fee) so we can try this one out and see if it was worth splurging on. My new baby is coming any day, though, so I definately needed A working camera in the house, and we thought this was the best option for us :)
  10. So, you still have to have an active landland for this to work? So you'd still be paying to maintain a phone line in the house?
  11. I have this same problem with both my Sears and Old Navy.
  12. When did you get your DS? My son got his at Christmas and got water spilled on it within weeks. We called Nintendo and were told they could fix it for a refurbishing fee. I think it is normally $75 but if you send it back within the first year they knock off $25. For $7.25 they will email you a pre-printed shipping label for your box; that covers insurance too. Don't quote me on the prices, I could be remembering everything wrong. Call Nintendo Customer Service and they will give you accurate prices :)
  13. I noticed the homegoods section is going to be reset. Kid's toy organizer, Translucent Pastel Edition, was 30% off at one store, 50% off at another Rugs were 50-75% off Shower curtains, rods, towels, blinds, sheet sets, pillows were all at 30% off.
  14. The two deals I saw in ads here in So CA were Best Buy and Target. Best Buy: buy Aristocats w/Snow Buddies, get both for $30 total + free pack of Disney Valentine's Target: buy Aristocats (think it was $19.99) get $5 gift card same deal/same price for Snow Buddies.
  15. My FIL only wears flannel lined shirts. Best place we've found them is the local feed/tractor store, if you have any near you. Shop where the farmers shop, because many of them wear shirts like that :)
  16. I've always been a Graco Mommy. But I was swayed by the arguments that you should keep your child in a 5 point booster as long as possible and couldn't afford a Britax when I needed to get a new chair for my daughter. I wanted to get her a convertible but didn't want to have to get her another seat in another couple of years. So I bought her this one at Target instead: http://www.target.com/Evenflo-Chase-Booster-Seat-Brown/dp/B000PD16RS/sr=1-5/qid=1201043789/ref=sr_1_5/601-6933844-3486550?ie=UTF8&index=target&field-browse=1038576&rh=k%3Aevenflo%20car%20seat&page=1 The reviews on here aren't that great but I have to tell you I am VERY happy with it. The cupholders and snack tray do come off rather easy (actually I think they are lost in the car right now because she pulled them off one day) but I think it is super easy to install, even moving it between cars, and she likes the pillow and padding. I LOVE LOVE LOVE being able to adjust her harness in the front. When she wears sweatshirts, I can open it a bit easily to accomodate the extra puff. And then the next day it only takes a few seconds to readjust the seat. A BIG bonus that I was happy about was that you can use the 5 point system until 40 pounds, but then you can use the seat as a booster seat until they are 100 pounds. So this really could be the last seat I'll ever have to get her. She was 2 when I bought it and 8 when the seat expires. This is the new 2008 model. I don't know if they offer other colors. I really really prefer not to buy black in the CA summer, but I guess if your mom keeps them covered with towels it's not THAT bad an issue... (the reviews on this website are a bit more positive) http://www.babyage.com/products/3261833_evenflo_evenflo_chase_dlx_booster_car_seat_-2008.htm
  17. look at craigslist.org, search through yahoo groups to see if your local city has any for sale groups. Also go to www.freecycle.org and sign up for local freecycle groups. Freecycle is a free decluttering email group. You give stuff to others you no longer need, and others give things away THEY no longer need. I see washing machines posted in my group a few times a year.
  18. I've seen the entire set of them at Costco and Sam's Club. I've seen single DVDs at Costco for $6.99. Walmart and Toyrs R Us have them for $10 usually. Amazon carries them and occasionally has the entire set of 5 on sale. I know you already have one, but sometimes it is cheaper to buy the entire box at the discount price and resell the one you have. Also I'd check half.com and ebay. :)
  19. Here's a code I found, haven't tried it. Suppose to be $5 off $15 purchase online :) Enter Code: 91632
  20. I never knew they were required to sell them...wow! Best price for reusable bags I've seen is $5 for 6 at Costco. Just about everyone else has them for right around $1/bag
  21. I filled my car up today at Target. I haven't dared unload the trunk because I was too tired until this evening and DH was home already and I didn't want him to see my stash. The reciept is still in the car, let me see what I can remember: Pack N Play, 50% off, $34.99 Cosco Deluxe travel stroller, 50% off, $14.98 Fisher Price Space Saver High Chair, 50% off, $24.98 Model Magic kits: Cinderella's Castle $3.98 (75% off) (x2, one for my daughter, one for my niece's bday) Pirates of the Caribean $4.98 (75% off) (this one comes with TWO ships, there was one on clearance for $3.98 but it only came with one ship. look for the one with 2, it's a better deal...) Pirates of the Carribean Crayola Cutter (75% off) $4.98 * Crayola Color Explosion Spinner (75% off) $4.98 * Webkinz Koala (yeah, it was only 30% off, but fine for my gift closet) $9.08 * Playstation 2 'The Bigs' $9.98 Cherokee cream velvet pants $3.24 Strawberry Shortcake Bath Set (50% off now) $2.48 * - gift closet stash and that's only what I can remember, LOL... Lake Elsinore, CA store had TONS of the Shutterfly sets for 50% off still.
  22. I like Kitchenaid and Cuisinart brands. Target clearances them out once or twice a year. I think it's end of Sept (with back to school clearance) and in spring when they get new models of the small appliances in. I THINK that clearance is coming up in a month or two. Also keep checking amazon.com and www.lnt.com (Linen and Things..there are ALWAYS 20% off coupons for this store), www.kohls.com (same thing, there are ALWAYS coupons running) or Bed, Bath, and Beyond (http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com) & Williams Sonoma carries them, too, of course, but IMO you'd definately want to catch that one on clearance. Maybe even Macy's.
  23. It's 7 days, sometimes you can get a cashier that will do it at the 10-14 mark if you are lucky. What I've usually done is rebought and returned one of the boxes with the higher receipt. It's a pain but if it is on my list of places to go then it is worth it for me.
  24. My grandmother sent us gift cards for Christmas a couple years ago. Both Costcos we went to and all cashiers and managers gave us SUCH a hassle about using the gift cards without having a membership.
