Just remember, being in these 'big' stores, you will still be in 'close quarters' with lots of people. The check-out lines especially, lol. Your odds of catching something could increase somewhat over just normal shopping.

I missed a few while in Japan, but was able to go to AFFES and NEX. Their sales weren't the best, but was able to grab some good deals. They made up for it by having some Friday night sales every weekend until Christmas. But, I hope to be back in the saddle this year.

That seems like a good assessment of how it has been. When our DS was young, we didn't make as much money, so we had to look for great deals. Now, as you stated, it has become an addiction, lol. (Now that we can afford it, it seems like we spend too much. Before we were on a tight budget)

According to Wikipedia "the term "Black Friday" has been traced back only to the 1960s". Who knew? Lol

Has Black Friday been around that long? I didn't think it was but maybe 20 years old or so. I do know I would shop with my mother the day after Christmas long ago, but don't remember BF.

I was wondering how long most people have been shopping on Black Friday? I have to go way back to the mid-90's at least. Our DS was only three or four, so I'm guessing around 1995. We used to get up to get in line for KB Toy Works(Castle, at the time). They usually opened around 5am. We were always near the front (I can't remember what time we would get in line, I think around 3am) and by morning, the line would stretch across the parking lot. It was MAD once you got inside. It was a big store(like a smaller ToysRUs), but you couldn't move it was so jammed, lol. We loved it though. So, based on that, I'm thinking we have been doing it for 15 years. We still love it, but our items we shop for have changed drastically .

Who needs any of it? It's all wants !

Here is my second entry. I added a Bonus picture too(yes, I am in the picture, can you spot me? lol).

Ok, here are my pictures. I went for 'unique' landmarks, lol. The first one is a local 'landmark'. It is a gate to keep the donkey population away, lol(No kidding). We use the gate as the turn around point for our marathon runs(it is basically 13 miles away). The second is an old cannon from WWII(1942). The third is a sign pointing home (for some people). Can anyone guess where these pictures are from?

Well, my first 'mishap' of the Christmas season. Amazon sent my order, but I never received it. The tracking stops the second day after it was mailed, but that was over two weeks ago. The goos news is, Amazon is shipping it again today and shipping it with one-day shipping. Great customer service Amazon. At least I didn't get cancelled.....yet. There is still plent of days for that to happen. (Last year it started with two laptops from two different stores ).
