  1. I've never put anything on layaway. How does it work price-wise? Do you pay the price of how much it was when placed in layaway, or the lowest price over layaway period or is it based on price at time of final payment? And does the store hold your items on site until you finish paying off so you can collect anytime, or do they have to request it and you wait days to get the stuff?
  2. We also start after Xmas and I don't think we'll need much this year at all except more clothes for my cousins if we go that route again. We have any outdoor stuff to take care of them but it's kind of tradition they get clothes so I'm not sure if we'll change it up. My mom saw me re-organizing stuff ad starting a list of who is getting what and got a little freaked out asking me if I was going to leave it out and wrap it ALREADY:P
  3. If you want to participate in the chat you need to get a FREE ustream account and then log in at link at day/time. It's pretty straight forward with video to one side and chat board next to it for questions/comments/input from viewers. There is a short video to watch before live stream begins. If you just want to see it, you just go to the above link at day/time and you can view video.
  4. woohoo....for prize packs. Can someone post a reminder closer to then if BigJim doesn't? I'm liable to forget and be sitting in front of pc oblivious to it all
  5. the coupons are good for both? They actually have quite a few things I'm interested in now, not that I NEED most of them but some of the dog toys are pretty decent priced. Some of the memorial type ornaments in catalog looked good too but I hate paying for shipping especially as it goes up with purchases and no free shipping at all seems nuts! LOL...I just went to that site and shows LTD catalog with same front cover as the abc dist one I received:)
  6. I just received a catalog and some stuff seems interesting but they appear to have no free shipping codes. I just signed up for emails but I'm wondering if anyone has codes or purchases stuff from them?
  7. just sign up for email reminders for different store sales and keep an eye out. I missed an email yesterday that had a video camera for 29.99 down from 99.99. Maybe people can mention stores that might be useful. I know I get the amazon daily deal reminder and ebay daily reminder plus meritline (great for cables/cheap dvd sleeves). I'd think BestBuy, RadioShack and any other electronic stores you have near you. Fry's appears to have had some great deals for Labor Day if you have any near you may be worth signing up for email notifications. Some people think it's ridiculous to keep an eye out year round but every little helps if you can afford to get it beforehand.
  8. The store I stopped by today had lots of sandals still some grill skewer/tray sets and towels. I found a teacup piglet for 3.75 and got a coupon from scanner for free milkyway too:)
  9. I had to post that I found a teacup piglet thing at cvs for $3.75 today.
  10. I'm assuming OP is looking for some standard counter top type as they are cheaper. If you're looking for an over the range one the best I've found currently is ($139.99)this one at BestBuy. Alternatively if you have Sears Outlet stores in the area they aren't bad with prices and you can get a warranty on their refurbs. I didn't look at countertop ones but a lot of the over the range ones have hideous reviews so make sure to check those before spending your cash.
  11. I got one yesterday clearanced at CVS for $3.24 :)
  12. I found some for 65% off at target online but not sure what the shipping would be, they're usually not great on with it though. 33IN Tile Fire Bowl $45.48 was $129.99 LINK1 Conservatory Firebowl $48.98 was $139.99 LINK2 Casetta Firebowl $52.48 was $149.99 LINK3
  13. I price matched today without other store's ad but the store just opened Wednesday so maybe they're trying to play nice to entice people and will change later?
  14. each person sends mod a list of likes/dislikes and then that list is forwarded to ss who takes those into account when picking and choosing stuff. I think there's a minimum but you'd have to check last years thread, might be $20. needs to be sent with trackable method too.
  15. My bff is having a hell(in a bad way) of a time on HER version of this. I'm starting the healthier eating again ( +30 min on elliptical daily) and gnc shakes but would definitely try THIS version if I hadn't bought so much shake mix at gnc. She's doing daily injections with a whole cocktail of vitamins and other pills and the food is ridiculous. She is only eating chicken since I think fish is the other option for protein and she doesn't like it. She is allowed 1(maybe 2) melba toast per day and certain fruit/vegetables which should be organic and unlimited coffee which I think is her saving grace. She's down to her wedding weight(maybe 20 lbs and 12 years ago) but wants to lose much more.
  16. I think they meant a decent netbook for $99. I haven't looked but believe this is one of the lower spec ones they started sales for around this time last year maybe later.
  17. they had great deals at office places last year for the pods but not sure about the machines
  18. YES....I've been getting one every other week or so and never anything worth while.. In other news the new walmart is decent inside but has barely any parking and the entrance was ridiculous. Unless they get their game on if hardcore shoppers show up I definitely see bad things happening on BF. There was a line formed for going into store and we were told only THAT door would open. About 15 minutes before store opening everyone ELSE got out of their cars and formed another line just ahead of the 1st person in our line but just across the street and they were all allowed in before US geniuses who had formed an orderly line. I'm not upset, there was nothing really to be had but it doesn't bode well.

    Where are the ads?

I would love some GD reusable shopping bags....I hope 1/2 price books does something online.
  20. While I agree with this, part of me wants to think it's their way of thanking their loyal customers. Take Bigjim for example, he doesn't always need anything but chooses to form a line at their stores for BF.
  21. Just my two cents: Best Buy has competition but nothing full blown or particularly threatening, Where else can you compare different spec pc's, tv's alongside fridge/freezers etc? I'd say amazon is the biggest competitor only because so many sellers join to offer more variety. Locally we have BrandsmartUSA which is probably a big competitor for appliances but again they don't have the variety of other stuff (computers/camera's/etc). Brandsmart is further away and notably (for me) most of the reps don't appear to have the knowledge of Best Buy reps. I would never stop into Target, Walmart or even Kmart for an electronics purchase unless I knew it was in stock(in ad or word of mouth)or felt like a look around anyways. My local Walmart and Target's have plenty of tv's and a few laptops but not much else, sure their online stores have a little more variety but nothing near Best Buy. I remember the days when I was spoiled for choice between Best Buy, Circuit City and CompUSA(for pc stuff). CompUSA was sold and now has nearly no sales, CircuitCity closed which pretty much leaves BestBuy. Oddly enough RadioShack has been pretty good to me the last two years but again it's stuff I've found online or gone specifically to pick up after seeing in an email or ad. I have a new Walmart opening on Wednesday so that should be kind of interesting for BF but at the same time I don't really need(and probably can't afford) much this year. I'll wait until I've seen the sales but this year might be a good year just to observe crowds since everything is pretty close by apart from jcpenney (for snowglobes ) and petstore. I remember ,year's ago, getting into CompUSA on Thanksgiving night for free(or nearly) after rebate stuff those kind of sales don't really exist anymore.
  22. I'd maybe do a separate thread or ask in the tech forum OR....you could try searching last years forums and see what deals there were and compare to sales. I stopped playing games after Sega:P My BF shopping list(unless I find at a comparable price before) so far is AV receiver, harmony remote and laptop memory. Anyone ever noticed a Toshiba have a BF sale? They don't play well with others Aside from that any cookies/sweets or small filler items, usually walgreens has some. I'm wondering how the new Walmart will affect traffic levels. I'm hoping since it isn't 24hrs ppl will swamp that one and leave this one a little easier/safer.
  23. Anyone have idea when swimming goggles go on sale? Did I miss it? I just want some adult ones for me cheap.
