1. To follow up with my bridge camera write-up back on page one of this thread, B&H Photo has just released a Bridge Camera Buyers Guide: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/find/newsLetter/Bridge-Cameras.jsp
2. I'd go with the Fujufilm J28. Instead of printing at home, it's usually cheaper/easier to upload your photos to a photo center and have them printed on real photo paper.
3. That's just ridiculous --- as if they don't make enough money from all the stores paying the newspaper to put in all those store circular inserts.
4. That would be my guess as well...
5. Oh, yeah, still waiting for the CVS ad... My nearest CVS is across the street, so it would be an easy stop.
6. Somehow I think in the days surrounding Jesus' birth they didn't have to fear mutant giant cats! (We can't put ours out because Jesus, Wise Men, et all become cat toys.)
7. Here's a review for the Nuvi 755T: http://gpsmagazine.com/2009/01/garmin_nuvi_755t_review.php Yes, it has a SD card slot so you can load an SD card up with tunes and Audible recordings and be all set. If you are playing MP3s, you will definitely want to broadcast to FM because the built-in speaker is just plain awful for music... You'll like that unit a lot -- I'm quite fond of my Nuvi 780.
8. My wife and I haven't drawn up a formal battle plan, but this is what we have so far: I know we're going to K-mart's Thanksgiving day sale tomorrow for a few things... On Black Friday we're going to go to OfficeMax for some camera memory cards and then over to Pep Boys for their Castrol Oil/Purolator Oil Filter deal and the RainX wiper blade deal (with free washer fluid). We might throw in an Old Navy stop, but that's a big maybe. Then we're going to the Philadelphia Premium Outlets (one of the Chelsia Outlet Centers) so my wife can shop her heart out... If we can get out of the Outlets in time, we might swing over to PF Changs for the free appetizer special. Going to K-mart and Pep Boys will be firsts for us for T-G/BF deals... I don't expect either to be really busy. Last Black Friday, we drove out to the Philadelphia Premium Outlets on Black Friday and couldn't find a single parking spot in the ENTIRE complex, got frustrated and just went to lunch at a nearby diner. I do more and more of my shopping online as time goes on. I just picked up an 8" HP digital photo frame from Newegg (which I'll load up with photos and give to my wife to put in her office) and I've bought some DVDs and MP3 downloads from Amazon through their respective Black Friday Sales. Newegg's official kick-off is at 6 pm (EST) so I'm sure I'll be picking up a few more things...
9. Nope, not that I am aware of... But some Garmins, like my Nuvi 780, have a memory card slot and the ability to play MP3s. I have a 4GB SD card in my Nuvi, loaded with music and books-on-tape from Audible and I have the Nuvi broadcast to FM (which I tune in on the car) and hear directions and tunes that way... The MP3 playback controls are built into the Nuvi.
10. Yes. Probably 90 minutes before opening would be alright. Make that 2 hours before opening if it's above 32 degrees where you live.
11. Often the price difference is just $20 between two comparable models. For a $20 spread I do think it's worth it.
12. Read my comments back on page one of this thread: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showpost.php?p=1633943&postcount=10
13. Yep... They do get you on shipping though. Last time I ordered it was $3.75 shipping per certificate and you can't combine shipping to save on costs, even though I ordered three certs. We're talking about rectangles of plastic like a credit card or slips of paper -- it's not like they sell bowling balls... IMHO, it should be $3.75 per order, but what can you do?
14. No problem... It can be a little overwhelming with all of the sections till you know your way around. Welcome to Gottadeal. Be sure to stick around after Friday... We're a friendly bunch and the deals are posted here year round.
15. Sam's Club sells them in the store at a slight discount... Like buy a $25 card for $24.88. As far as true deals, you might have to buy them from ebay, but caveat emptor is definitely recommended.
16. Cat vehicles?: Dogs apparently are not enthused:
17. I just got an e-mail from the Fred Beans family of dealerships (where we bought my wife's car). They are doing a deal specifically for Black Friday where they'll pay your sales tax on any new vehicle (up to $600).
18. It's not even listed on ResellerRatings.com: http://www.resellerratings.com/reseller_list.pl?keyword_search=uggsretail.com&review= I'd stay away... ----- I moved this thread from the Black Friday Discussion section since your thread is not related to Black Friday.
19. Limerick, Reading and Wyomissing, Pennsylvania
20. Nope.... Five easy steps: (1) Buy a GoPhone of your choice. (2) Insert the SIM card from your old phone. (3) Insert the battery for the new phone and attach the back panel. (4) Charge the new phone (most phones are shipped uncharged). (5) Begin using new phone. You won't be using the SIM card from the new phone or activating a new line... 21. I think this is the "master" web site for what you are referring to: http://www.halfoffdeals.com
22. Aftermarket rechargable camera batteries are very cheap on ebay. I bought one for my Sony for around $15 shipped.
23. Yeah, I'd check into that... Many well-meaning people who don't posess MidwestMama's shopping skills would relish the idea/ease of just buying gift certificates and that warm fuzzy feeling. So, MidwestMama, if you don't exchange, it's like you are stealing the joy of a job well done by some other kind sould who happens to hate to shop.
24. Yep, there's nothing in a digital zoom that you couldn't do at home on your computer. Optical zoom is where it's at!
