  1. Miracle on 34th Street vs The Santa Clause Christmas Vacation vs It's a Wonderful Life
  2. We Gottadealers spoil our children . . . and save tons of money while doing it! :)
  3. This is probably why I go overboard every year. Besides from me, DD doesn't get much from others. My mother and sister each get her a little something. Her dad will also buy her a few things but she usually keeps them at his house.
  4. I've done GCs in the past when DD had only 1 teacher. I usually gave between $25 and $50, depending on how much I liked the teacher.
  5. I just purchased something else from Amazon. I really can't help myself. lol
  6. DD is in 5th grade and they switch classes so she has 4 subject teachers, her G&T teacher, piano teacher, and art studio teacher. I ended up getting 6 of the BBW lotion and soap sets and 1 anti-bac 4 pack (+ a free item). Thanks to coupons and the very nice salespeople at BBW, they all cost me only around $70. :-)
  7. Not a good deal on the dollhouse. I bought it last month for $99 at TRU.
  8. I definitely spent more than I intended. On DD10 alone (only child), I had hoped to keep it to $700-$800 and ended up spending about twice that. All you can do is think about the smile and excitement your children will experience on Christmas and move on. And try extra hard to do better next year (but will likely have the same discussion again next year.) *sigh* I don't even want to think about how much all the stuff I bought for DD cost at full price. At least more than 3x what I spent. Always a silver lining.... :)
  9. Every year I tell myself it will be different, but I'm doing it again! Today I paid off the Christmas credit cards in hopes of putting an end to my shopping but I still find myself checking this site for a great deal several times a day! My name is suggad and I'm a shopaholic. lol
  10. Dollar tree has a great selection of wrapping paper. That's all I buy. It runs from thin to very thick (less on the very thick rolls).
  11. Santa only brings 1 gift, so I buy a special roll of paper for Santa and wrap the Santa present in it, stick on a specially bought bow and tag and put it at the edge of the tree. One year DD got moon shoes, which her dad put in a special Santa sack, and that was a hit. This year the Santa present won't be wrapped because I am going to assemble it and stick a bow on it....well unless I find another Santa sack.

    wrapping money

i like the fortune cookie boxes they sell at the dollar store
  13. Decided to cut back even further (not trying to be cheap, but way over budget at this point), so now its down to either a 4 pack of anti bacs or the soap and lotion set. Which do you think teachers would prefer?
  14. What do yall think about the soap and lotion sets at BBW as gifts? I'm also considering giving a nice stainless steel water bottle...? DD has 7 teachers and I'm trying to keep it to 15-20 each.
  15. Nope. Sometimes you need to help the clueless workers out on locating the package, but otherwise, good.

I was able to find coat boxes at Dollar Tree.
  17. Got mine yesterday! The free scarf is NICE!!! Thanks again for posting this deal!

  19. The Salvation Army Angel tree is allowing you to adopt online now. But hurry. Gifts need to be turned in by December 14th. We usually adopt a child through my job, but we wanted to help out someone in our area this year, so we adopted 2 little girls from the Salvation Army website. We really enjoyed shopping for them and will definitely be doing it again next year. I found some killer deals! I think our angels will be very happy: gifts include, clothes from Old Navy and Children's Place, a 3 story fully furnished Barbie dollhouse for the younger one, and for the older, a Zune, which I am going to preload with lots of my DD's favorite music, movies, and music videos w/ accessories for it (DD was very concerned that the child wouldn't have a computer or money to be able to get music, so we decided to preload it. She is about the same age as DD so I think there's a high possibility they are into that same Radio Disney/pop music).
  20. Everyone has such great Christmas meal traditions!
  21. I can't stand K-Mart's shipping prices! They need to negotiate a better shipping contract with UPS. I would order more from them if shipping weren't always so high.
  22. I guess I'm heading to Walgreens: Here's what I plan to put in DD's stocking: hair accessories DVDs lip gloss Lindt white chocolate truffles and whatever else looks good in the Target $1+ area
