    wrapping money

I've had money wrapped in cleaned up tin cans before. I thought that was pretty novel. Looked like someone was giving me a can of beans when I opened it, until I noticed that the lid was fake. They had even put a baggie of marbles in it on top of the money to weight it down!
  4. I'm a teacher (Middle School, 24+ years) and my favorite gifts are things that I can use for my classroom, things that make my life easier, ie gift cards for Staples, Target, WalMart, or GC for dinner, so I don't have to cook after taking care of 160 kids all days. I'm a mom too, and my son will take GC to his favorite teachers, as well as homemade Pumpkin chocolate chip bread or mini cheesecakes. I know it was brought up about teachers not eating homemade items and I think it is up to the individual teacher. We are with the kids all year, so we know how "hygenic" they are, etc. If there is any doubt in my mind, it goes in the trash when I get home. If it makes it to the dessert tray, hubby takes care of it for me!
  5. One gift unwrapped, the rest are wrapped. I'll never forget the first Christmas with my Stepkids. They got up in the middle of the night, got their unwrapped toys and took them into their room to play with them. I got up, saw the toys were missing and went to the room (it was 4 AM at this time). I told them their dad would be awefully disappointed to not see their excited faces in the morning, so they put the toys back and then went back to bed. They was great acting skill the next morning exhibited by both of them and DH has never known the truth! (now they wait, but they are 16 and 19)

    Cookies for Santa

We have a special plate and mug just for Santa, the only time it is used all year! Santa seems to love M&M cookies and milk at our house best for some reason. My 6 year old has been stirring in M&M's into cookies since he was 18 months old!

  12. Come on people! Desk Set is classic Tracy and Hepburn!! How could some little kid left alone again by crazy parents beat it?
  13. Sister in law got one and I got one. I also got a deer with my car on the way! Got there at 7:15 and they still had about 20 left in a cart behind the customer service desk. And my neice will love them! But boy, it's an expensive Zhu Zhu for me!
  14. My teenagers LOVE those highlighter pens that have the little post-it notes in them. Absolutely one of the things they ask for in their stocking!

  16. Well, I've still a little woozy, but here is my story of the day.... After cooking dinner for 20 people last night and they had left, I cleaned up the kitchen and took a small nap until 11:00 pm. I drove the 10 minutes to my TRU and low and behold, there were about 150 people in line! By the time the store opened at Midnight, there were about 750 people in line! Didn't get a Zhu Zhu, but got the razor and a few other items. Took 45 minutes to get out of the store and back home to rest for an hour an a half. Sister in Law shows up about 2:45 and wakes me up, we head out to JC Penney. No one in line, so we wait in our nice, warm car until about 3:45 am, get out and get in line with about 10 other people and Penney's opens EARLY!! Awesome service in there today! Got my jammies for everyone, shirts for hubby and a tie and 2 snow globes (because we came back in to go into the mall.) On to Macy's for some glassware, frying pans and a Mickey Mouse (love that mouse!!), then to Chik-fil-A for a breakfast biscuit. We then left the mall to go to Academy Sports. It's about 6:30, and I see people lined up outside. We are very puzzled, because they are only letting in 10 people at a time. We find out why....They are giving out free Tennessee Titans Jerseys! Score! Free $50 jersey! On to Wal-mart. Most of the doorbusters are gone, but the crowds are too. Price Matched several items with no problems. We get what we need and head on to Target. Still crowded, hard to find anything. Couldn't find the Duck Hunter game or Wizard of Oz DVD, but found most all else. Next stop, back to the mall. Bath and Body was packed, took 30 minutes to check out, so hot in the store, I was afraid people would pass out!). On to Yankee Candle, so nice and peaceful. Still busy, but no pushing/shoving. They had lots of coupons and let you up them, so instead of buy 2/get 2 free, I did buy 4/get 4 free! By this time, it's getting to be a little after 10:00. We go to TJ Maxx to get a pair of shoes that my sister in law had held for her, then to PF Chang's for early lunch and free lettace wraps! Service was very slow. Then over to Best Buy to get Entourage videos and try to get Zune Marketplace cards, but they wouldn't work and so I didn't buy them. Then home and a nap for a couple of hours, since I had only slept 2 hours in over 24 hours. But I love BF!!!
  17. I just returned from TRU! OMG! I got there about 11:15 and there were already 150 people in line, which means no Zhu Zhu for me. Saw one fight break out over a Leapster. By the time the store opened, there must have been 500 people in line, and another 50-100 waiting near the entrance that were too lazy to get out of their cars to get into line.
