  2. Thanks all great and powerful BRAD! You are making my life sooooo much more difficult! More research on the dreaded TV coming up! june
  3. okay, thought we weren't looking for a new TV, hubby tells me tonight we are, that I have to put in my money I make Thanksgiving week working 24 high school basketball games to get one. Not really happy about this at the moment. Any help would be appreciated that anyone can find out. We currently have a 48" projection, about 8 years old, so I don't wan't to go down past a 36" HD. Still learning the lingo of HD/ED/PLASMA/LCD/CRT. Way too much for this little blonde mind to hold! June
  4. Thanks for posting.... hubby thinks I am crazy to want this, but I do! June
  5. My 2 1/2 yr old loves the Mega Blocks and Matchbox cars (he's not one to put things in his mouth). Also all the Fisher Price Farm sets, Castle, etc. Loves cars, balls, etc. I bought him the Leapfrog littletouch, but he really isn't interested in it. Maybe if they had Wiggles books for it... And he loves coloring and Crayola makes WASHABLE crayons that come off of everything with just a wipe (even a baby wipe! I mean no leaving any marks!) They get my vote for best thing ever! I download coloring-in pages and print them off. He loves it! June

    BF Boardgame

thanks for the game. It might help speed the time, as opposed to what I usually do, which is counting people with hair in curlers, carrying cups of coffee/sodas, etc. June
  7. Saw Nov. 8. guess I got the new server!
  8. thanks Brad! guess I'll put the turkey in and run to KMart for a few things!
  9. I found 4 of the talking Care Bears at WalMart, up high on a shelf in Stationary. They were ringing up $14.98 each, but the manager of the Toy section said that I could bring back the recept during BF and they would give me back the difference. I went ahead and bought them! 2 gifts down, a zillion to go! I love this site! June
  10. Well, just got back from WalMart and didn't find the Cabbage Patch Newborns, but I did find the Talking Care Bears with the DVD. There were only 4 and they were high up. I bought both at $14.98, but was told by the manager of the toys section that I could bring my recept back on BF and get the difference back!! June
  11. I need to get two of those for my mom to give my great nieces for Christmas. I will keep checking WalMart and hope that mine puts them out accidentally with all the other stuff. I am checking wallyworld everyday now since I am recooperating from surgery and can't go back to work yet. I need to walk a little and this is the perfect place! I just walk slow and easy and keep looking up and down and around and..... June
  12. I've been shopping BF since I was in high school/college back in the late 70's/early 80's! It was a tradition for my mom and I. Spend all day, have a great lunch, stack the trunk of the car full! What fun! June
  13. I think it would be great, especially since I don't have anyone to shop with on BF anymore. June
  14. I would check out pawn shops or instrument stores. At 5 years old, you really don't want to get an expensive item. Also, check with your local school. Often, there will be instruments that have been donated to them that they will part with for $25-50 or so. The program could use the money for buying music, etc., since most people buy or rent their own horn. Hope that helps! June
  15. Kohls will also have special sets on the Fisher Price items. Last year, I got the Castle with two "extra" sets added in for $5 more than the castle itself at WalMart! The two extra sets weren't available until a couple of months later by themselves at WalMart. But you need to watch the prices. Often, their regular price is very inflated! Never pay regular price there. June
  16. I worked for 3 years at a Disney Outlet.... Talk about "fun"! I was an opener, so I was there at 5:00 AM and we didn't open until 8:00 AM! We would have a line of about 300-400 people waiting and the store would only hold about 100, so some would have to wait until others came out. We had great deals though..... And I got to leave at 11:00 AM! Missed everyone else's BF ads, but they things settle down and I could shop some. But then, I got married and pregnant. I left the Sunday before BF so I wouldn't have to hastle with it again! June
  17. I get my mom gift certificates every year to lots of different restaurants, stores, etc. She loves it! It makes Christmas go all year round for her! Some of her favorites are Cracker Barrel, O'Charleys, Sonic, McDonalds, Wendy's, WalMart, Kohls, Publix, JC Pennys, and Krogers. I try to get a mix of different places, usually things that are close to her, and make sure that there are a couple of clothes stores, grocery stores, and food outlets. She usually just gets the food to go and brings it home. But one meal from O'Charleys with the salad, bread, potato, etc. will last her 2 meals usually. I usually put them in a big box with a framed picture of my son. She waited so long for him to come into the world (I was 42 when he was born 3 years ago), that she treasures everything about him! She has great-grandkids that are older than he is! Hope that helps! June
  18. I've been a teacher for over 20 years... (yikes!) It's so funny, because since I teach middle school, we don't get the "goodies" like the elementary school teachers do. But since our kids have 5 or more teachers, it is understandable! My favorite presents are supplies for my desk -- red pens, pencils, post-its, etc., and gift certificates to restaurants, fast food, bookstores, etc. Or having lunch brought in to me one day -- that is awesome, since our cafe is not the greatest! And my kids know that I love Mickey Mouse, so I often get some wonderful things with him on it! I teach in a rural area, with over 1/2 my kids on free lunch, so I don't look for expensive things. It's the thought that counts! A pack of 10 red pens costs about $1.00 at Wallyworld. And I let the kids use them to grade papers, so they sometimes "walk" out the door. Things like that are wonderful! Hope that helps! June
  19. A new winter coat.... Mine is about 15 years old and starting to look it! I never get a new one, because I always spend my money on everyone else! Guess it is a Momma thing! June
  20. I want that jeep too! But I will be 3 weeks out of surgery and don't think I can lift it. I am hoping to find it early and put it in layaway and then get someone to help me with it later that morning, after the rush, but before the price changes. I teach school, so I'm calling all my former students who work there to get them to give me a hand! June
  21. My mom is widowed and 79. For the past few years, I have gotten her something that she needed, and then put lots of gift certificates for EVERYWHERE in it. MickeyD's, Taco Bell, Wendy's, WalMart, Walgreens, Krogers, Chilis, O'Charleys, Cracker Barrell, etc. She loves this, since she can go get take out and not have to cook. She has so many dust collectors that this works much, much better! And it makes Christmas last for months on end! June
  22. Hi. This is my first post. I checked with a friend that I teach with who works part time at Wallyworld. She said that they SHOULD price match it during those hours, but that you might have to press them. And to make sure it is EXACTLY the same model that is on sale. I am wanting to get the Battery powered Jeep 4 X 4 for my 3 year old. That is such a deal! But I am having surgery 3 weeks before Black Friday and don't know how well I will be. Have a great day!
