  3. Big thanks from me too! This is my first place I go before I shop anywhere!! Everyone is so helpful and wonderful!
  4. Thanks! That's a few christmas presents down!
  5. I used to work at the 5 Oaks Outlet in Pigeon Forge. It can be a mad house! Old Navy will open at Midnight, as will some of the other stores. Most other stores open around 6 to 8. Really good deals! I would always work the earliest shift at the Disney Outlet, from 4-11. It would be so crowded, our management would provide us meals that weekend, because you couldn't leave and get something and get back! They would rope off an area just for employee parking and run a shuttle from a local church too. (secret hint -- there are parking spaces underneath the section that has Old Navy/Disney, etc.) People have been known to look for a parking spot for over 30 minutes! Lots of great deals though. Make sure you check out the Coach Outlet at the other outlet down the street! There is also a Walmart just down the street from 5 Oaks. We were always told to plan on an extra hour to get to work! Happy Shopping!
  6. Definitely going to Walgreens early on Thanksgiving morning! DS really wants one of the Paper Jamz guitars!
  7. Thanks Brad! Awesome job as usual!
  8. When I worked at the Disney Store, the Managers would know a couple of weeks ahead of time, and we could kindof guess what was going to be on sale by the amount of an item that came to us. But they wouldn't tell us for sure until the weekend before. And then we wouldn't put stock out until Wednesday night after close before Thanksgiving (I always worked that shift, because they would let us buy at the BF price that night!)
  9. got the ship to my store! I ordered a dozen presharpened pencils. As a middle school teacher, I need these as much as the pens because my kids never have pencils!
  10. The Santa Clause vs Christmas Vacation!! No contest!!
  11. I got my last package today, from Cabellas, a tshirt and hat for DS. Had given up on getting it because it was backordered!
  12. I've got to check with my Honeybaked Ham store about the bones! I love to use the leftover one to make soup beans!
  13. We do the Prime Rib and Honeybaked Ham dinner, with various sides, at my house, then desserts at my mom's condo, with opening presents and stockings there. When my nephew is in town, we start at his house with appetizers, soups and salads, the to my house 10 miles away, then mom's place, 3 miles away. It's our own little parade! We eat lots of leftovers the next day for Christmas dinner (with a few new veggies) and I take the Ham bone and make a big pot of soup beans for New Year's day. That has to be my favorite meal!
  14. wow -- Lets see Baked presents to neighbors, employees -- $50 Christmas eve dinner for 25-30 people -- $250 (This includes Prime Rib, Honeybaked ham, etc) Christmas Day breakfast -- $10 Christmas Day Dinner for 8-12 people -- $50 (I'm counting on using some of the leftovers from Christmas Eve dinner, plus adding a few things.) I haven't thought past Friday....
  15. Since I moved to where my whole family lives, we have appetizers, soup and salad at my nephews house, travel to my house for dinner, and then go to Mimmie's house (my mom, who lives in a retirement community) for dessert, opening presents and the stockings that Santa has filled there! (I help Santa early in the AM of 12/24). Lots of fun, since there are 8 kids under the age of 10! My mom started doing stockings for everyone when we all started getting married! Now, with all the grandkids and great grandkids (my mom has grandkids from age 40 to age 6 -- my son, and great grands from age 19-2), Santa and I fill almost 30 stockings!! Thanks to Gottadeal, there are lots of fun things in those stockings!
  16. Miracle on 34th Street vs The Santa Clause Christmas Vacation vs It's a Wonderful Life
  17. I always give my hubby a box set or two of a miniseries from HBO or Showtime, since we have neither movie channel. Last year, I got him "John Adams", which he loved since he is a history buff. This year, I've got him season one and two of "Entourage" because I think he will like it. My DH is picky picky picky and I always want to surprise him. So far, I've done okay with my rogue choices. Usually, he gives me a very concise list to choose from, but this year, he just mentioned a few things and I've been on my own!
  18. I gave my son's teacher (he's in first grade) a large Yankee Candle that I bought in a little bag, with a miniloaf of pumpkin chocolate chip bread and a $10 Subway GC, since there is a Subway near his school and she can scoot over there to grab a sandwich for lunch a couple of times, or take home a couple for her and her new husband for dinner. Not having to cook after a long day at school is one of life's little pleasures for a teacher!
  19. I was at my Toys R Us today and they told me they are getting shipments everyday (they had them today for $9.99 I think). You have to ask at customer Service because they are not putting them out. I was also at Target today and they were putting them on the shelves. This was about 5:00 PM. I think the supply is lightening up a bit. I've been able to get one the past three times I have been in TRU.
  20. I picked one up at Krogers Monday. Loves the color changing cars. He plays in the bath with them, changing them back and forth!
  21. This thread is from 2 years ago, so Aldi might not still have them.
  22. I bought these a couple of months ago for the same price. Definitely worth it!
  23. Usually January/February is a great time to shop too, because stores start clearing out their unsold Christmas stuff and I start buying for next year!!
