  1. If you go to Home Depot, they have the Disney Paint section. The Paint chips are shaped like Mickey's head, all different colors! You could go by and get a selection in various colors (yes, I've done this....I'm so ashamed....) and use them as your name tags on your presents! Also, if you go to Disneyshopping.com, they have a section now that includes things from the park, so you could get the "official" autograph book or a t-shirt, etc to wrap up for each of them before you go! However, if you are driving down or are renting a car, I strongly suggest checking out the Character Warehouse outlet near WDW first before you buy things in the park. They carry things straight from WDW at much better prices. I think it is in the Prime Outlet shopping center.
  2. I need some help. DS, who is 6, really wants a DS system. Since he is young and prone to doing silly things (his Leapster doesn't work anymore because he "washed" it when it was dirty recently), do you think I should buy a refurb unit from Gamestop or go ahead and get a new one. I'm liking the refurb price in case he does something unintelligent again, but I'm afraid of getting a lemon and wasting my money. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

    Couple Gifts

My neice once gave us a nice, big ceramic bowl with popcorn, popcorn salt, etc in it and tied a free trial to netflix on the ribbon. The netflix trials she got free from them that year by just downloading it. I now buy for my great neices and nephews and just give a gift card to their parents for Pizza so they don't have to cook one night! My sister gives them a gift card to the movies, so that takes care of a night out for the parents!
  4. I showed up 2 hours early a couple of years ago for a Zune deal they had. I was the 10th person in line. My store only had 3 of them. I do not go to TRU for electronics anymore!!
  5. I was just in Elmira 2 weeks ago! My inlaws live near there just over the line in PA. We flew up to attend a wedding at the Belhurst Winery in Geneva. I saw that wonderful shopping area near the airport and thought how fun that would be for BF! Have a great time!
  6. I got mine today!! Wow! What a value! I ordered two sets. Each set had a full size body butter, Full size bath milk, a nice tin with one of those rings you put over a lightbulb and oils to put on the ring. Then, one bag had 2 lipsticks, one lip gloss and 2 samples. The other one had 3 lip glosses and 2 samples. I am very, very pleased! The little lightbulb/oil sets had a $25 sticker on them! If this is still available, get it!
  7. Well, as someone who studied music in college, I can tell you their melodic interpretation is more along the "Row row row your boat" style than Mozart. Seems Wallyworld likes to make a big show about their ad, and this is the way they prefer it -- leaking it about 10 days early to news agencies, then allowing sites to post it because the "public"demands it.
  8. Oh yeah! I've already started looking, but will do some major recon this weekend and then on Wednesday, will head to Kohls and maybe pick up a few things late when they change the prices over!
  9. We have a fairly large family and we all get together on Christmas Eve in a progressive dinner, which ends at my mother's condo after dark and "Surprise" Santa has already arrived, stuffed stockings for everyone so we can open presents, etc. For many years now, we have passed around a couple of gag presents to each other so much we now look forward to who will get it and who will get it next year. I'm talking things like a Joey Fatone Bobblehead doll (MIB, in case there are any collectors out there...). Anyone else have strange traditions?
  10. I do the same. Husband budgets and puts away money all year for my major shopping excursion! I will also take a little cash along to pay for small purchases, breakfast/lunch/sodas, etc.
  11. Looks like Target is the place for me!! Nintendo DSi Video Game Bundle w/ Free $20 Gift Card $169.99 Sony Blu-ray Disc Player w/ Free $20 Target Gift Card $149.99 Up! Movie $13.00 Mario and Sonic Winter Olympic Games w/Free $10 Gift Card $49.99 Wii Sports Resort w/Free $10 Gift Card $49.99 Nerf Vulcan shooters for husband and son so they can battle each other 2@$25 -- $50 Folding Aluminum Razor Scooter $17 Total -- $499.96 Plus I get $60 in Gift Cards back free!! Woo hoo! Now if only Oprah or Ellen would see this and grant the wishes of a hardworking school teacher!
  12. That was Proffitts! I loved them! Those cracker jacks would be my breakfast on BF morning! I remember one year, someone gave away little chocolate bars with a coupon on the wrapper. And Sam's has given out doughnuts and coffee before. But the first BF riot I ever witness was at Target, many years ago, when they gave out little matchbox like cars to the first 100 or so people. Only they failed to mention there was a limit of how many they had and people got into a fight over those little cars!
  13. I would go with the Nikon and the GC from Target. My 6 year old uses my camera and just likes to look at the pictures on the computer, not that crazy about printing them out. In fact, Santa has him a digital photo frame to put in his room to put his favorite pictures on to watch. (got it at Target too, on an endcap for less than $12 -- regular cost $60!)
  14. My 6 year old beats us at Mario Cart all the time! Highly recommend it. He also loves the Lego games and anything sports related. He has asked for Mario/Sonic Winter Olympics for Christmas.
  15. We get ads in the paper on the day before Thanksgiving and on Thanksgiving day. And I have a relative that brings me the paper from the other side of town, because Kohl's won't put ads in our papers, since the Kohls is on the East side of Nashville and I am on the west and they must think none of us can drive there. (gee, did the bitterness show a bit?) But the only reason I have the ads is for price matching. I already will have my list down and done by then, thanks to Brad and the Gottadeal crew!!
  16. Really don't see the Wii going for less than $199, but it's the bundles where you get savings. Look for a store that will give you gift cards, extra controllers, different game, etc. I am disappointed in the choice of games also. All my stepson wants is video games and none of the ones he has on his list are even in any ad!!
  17. right click on the link and then click "save target as" on the menu that appears.
  18. I know. Kohls lines are (next to TRU) the worse on BF. This is a great store to "tagteam". Both people get a few things, both get in line, stand there for a minute while people fill in behind you, then one goes shopping, other pushes stuff in line towards the front. Since it always takes us about 45 minutes or more to get to the front, we are able to get everything we want in about an hour and then its on to the next place. It works so well, people in front and behind me started doing it too!
  19. Thanks! Got 2 for 32.68. No shipping, but tax is huge here in TN! Great Deal!
  20. GeoTrax stuff is very big with my son. I love the fact that Kohl's has the special arrangement with Fisher Price to get special sets!
  21. I lose my sister in law in the crowds and she is 40+ years old (I would tell you how old she really is, but then she would kill me!!! If I took my 6 year old, I wouldn't get anything done! He would be wanting to go to the toy section, I"m bored, I want this, I need to go to the restroom, etc.... My neice and a friend or two spend the night with me Thanksgiving night and they take care of him while my SIL and I go shopping.
  22. Or you could be like me and win something, but then never get it! I bring it up every year and Brad just smiles at me and all! Tell you what, I'll be the "cheese" to your "whine"! But Dang it, Illinoismom and I deserve to win something!!
  23. This is my Grandmother's recipe. It is wonderful and soooooo easy. I make it quite often to take to people, but it just wouldn't be Christmas without this!! Chocolate Chess Pie 1 1/2 Cups Sugar 3 1/2 Tablespoons cocoa 1 teaspoon Vanilla 2 Eggs 1 stick butter, melted 1 small can evaporated milk 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell (deep-dish is best) Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine all ingredients, except pie shell in a bowl. Mix well. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake for 50 minutes. Let Cool. This is very fudgy. I decorate it with Whipped cream and crushed peppermints. Happy Shopping (and eating)! June
