Sometimes we copy previous deals (especially very popular ones) to get them back to the top of the home page without deleting the original deal, so it just uses the same forum thread. I would have deleted the old deal when bumping but I have some Google Adwords ads running which link to that deal page and don't want problems with it no longer being available.

The problem with most online places is that shipping will kill you on something like that, unless there is a free shipping promotion like that model at Target. For example, OneCall has a nice 24" (not 27") Sony Trinitron WEGA for under $250, but shipping is well over $100 on it. I'll keep looking...

Any particular price range you are looking at? Also, what stores do you have nearby? BestBuy, CircuitCity, Costco, Sam's Club, etc...

Another possible option if you want longer battery life would be one of the many reconditioned models at Overstock.com. Plenty of options from name-brand companies like Dell, HP, IBM, etc... Most of these have slower processors that use less power but are still more than enough for most any activity on a laptop. Use a coupon and save more. We'll have several deals posted tomorrow for laptops at Overstock, so stay tuned.

That's what I was thinking, but I couldn't find any 5.8GHz 2-line models at all - they were all 900Mhz or 2.4GHz. I'll look again and see if I can find any.

There is one I mentioned in this thread but it has an answering machine. Price dropped $5 since then as well. I'll take a look and see what I can find without an answering machine.

Our good friend BobbyDouglas should post for himself Personally, if you want DVI I would go with the Dell 1703FP. It is Dell's best 17" model and has DVI, plus all the nifty features of the larger models like the height-adjustable stand, thin bezel, etc... They have it for 10% off at Dell Home through tomorrow, and (although you didn't hear this from me) there will be a $35 off $450 coupon code tomorrow (we have it - just can't post it yet), so you will be able to get it for $414 shipped - which is $5 more than it was yesterday when they had a $40 coupon, but that's the way things go. And if you don't care about DVI, that Sceptre model at Amazon for $319 AR is a very nice deal.

Especially nice deal on the 19" model. These $40 coupons are only good for 1500 uses or until midnight, and they have been getting used 1500 times by late afternoon in some cases, so don't delay if you want to order.

When you first insert the device in your PC's USB port, only the public partition mounts. Password or fingerprint authentication is required to mount and view the resizable secure partition." So the stuff you put on the public partition would mount like a normal plug & play drive. Read the review for more info - there is Windows Explorer and IE integration as well as standard file protection.

I'm guessing that for normal use it would be plug & play, but if you want to use the fingerprint recognition features, it might require special software. I'll look and see if I can find more info.

As for the wireless adapter, there are 2 main choices. Here is the cheapest prices I could find for each: Linksys Wireless-B Game Adapter - $52.64 shipped at Amazon Microsoft Wireless-G Xbox Adapter - $78.24 shipped at Amazon If you have a 802.11g adapter, the MS one might be worth the extra cost, otherwise I've heard great things about the Linksys one. Computers4Sure carries the Linksys model for a few bucks more (search for WGA11B), so you could add it to your existing order or place a separate order from Amazon to save a few bucks.
