xfountaingrl
Does anyone own one of these and have any reviews for me? My bf and I are buying a new mattress and are leaning towards one of these. The issue is that the price is $2500 for a queen size. I dont want to waste the money and then realize its not all its cracked up to be. Opinions???
ObiRich
A few years ago we looked into it, and DW and I decided to go with the Sleep Number bed instead. There were a couple reasons... First, I like a harder bed than she does. Second, I'm a big guy. On the Tempurpedic, I sunk so far into the foam that I had a heck of a time rolling over. Last, the sleep number bed was cheaper. xfountaingrl
A sleep number bed is cheaper??????? I did not know that! Guess we should look into that too.
rabx5
I love my Sleepnumber :) We sank down a lot while testing out the tempurpedic:(
all4mykids
I had one for two years, but my ex really wanted it when we split so he got it. The tempurpedic mattress can be hard to roll over on until you get used to it. Also, I found that I went to sleep very well but woke up feeling like I was burning up. Don't read this next tip if you don't want TMI. We never found the tempurpedic mattress to be a really great place to be romantic.

We went to one store to test it out and the sales person said lay on it for 15 min etc. So we were just laying there talking and my bf brought that up that it might be difficult, so he pretended that we were going to get into positon and test it... My face must have turned so red!
hpowers
I don't understand how the sleepnumber bed is comfortable with the ridge in the middle. My parents and in-laws have them and I just don't see where it would be better than a good mattress.

dcofsc
I had a tempurpedic mattress for a short time. It was really comfortable for the first few minutes but then as you sank more into it, it wasn't so comfortable. They are really hot too because all of that foam surrounds you. Everybody likes different things but I would not recommend this mattress to anyone.
AndreaInNC
I stayed in a hotel that had the tempurpedic mattress. It's not for overweight people - that's for sure. I had to wake myself up so I could get up to roll over. It wasn't pretty. lol I could only stay one night, then had to leave. I need my sleep! Wow, all this advice is conflicting on what I should do. I want to get it, then later on I dont want to get it, etc.
hwolf6330
Dh just thinks we need to get one too. I layed on one in the mattress store and I hated it. I felt like I was sinking and I couldn't move. Now I know they have some that only have a few inches of the foam on top so you won't sink the whole way down. jonboy_nellie
My best friend and her DH have one. She said after a week she was wondering if buying it was a mistake but after a month she said it was worth more than she paid! It's about 2 years old now and they still tell us all the time to get one. She said it was a huge benefit during her 2nd pregnancy and she slept alot better than her previous one on a different bed. all4mykids
xfountaingrl, You may want to check and see if there are hotels around you that have the tempurpedic mattress or the sleep number beds and test them out before deciding. Of course, they would be your more expensive places, but it would be well worth it when you are talking about making that big of an investment. I found these two links for you. http://www.tempurpedic.com/about/partnerships/hotels/ http://www.radisson.com/sleepnumber

Penelope
My father-in-law replaced all his mattresses with the Tempurpedic ones. He loves them. But when I visited, I found them very uncomfortable. I did not feel like I was getting any support. I think I finally laid down a comforter over it, and then I was able to sleep. Sue-Z-Q
I'm glad that I stumbled onto this thread. I think I can help you. I just ordered one last week. I will have 90 nights to sleep on it, and if I don't love it I can return it. Where I ordered it from, they also have a special going on. Buy the mattress set (mattress and foundation (used in place of a box spring) and get FREE SHPPING AND TWO FREE TEMP. PILLOWS! I have already received the pillows, used one last night and I LOVE it. I hope mine is delivered before or while DH is home from Iraq for his two weeks. Then we will know how we both like it. AND, I will definitely know how it is to be romantic on it...we will spend a LOT of time in our room! Sorry, I know...tmi! Anyway, I ordered a Deluxe set at Brookstone.com, check them out. Put the name in the search box for the best results. On a side note, some friends have a knock off brand (Sealy, I think) and they love theirs. He said it took him a week to get used to it and she said she loved it from the word go. They are VERY overweight and don't say anything about sinking way down. Good luck! wvblast
I've had mine for a year now and I DON'T like it at all, but my DH loves its. I wake up every night burning up, and I also have lower back pain and it makes it worse. I've not slept straight through the night more than a dozen times since we got it. It's bad when you have to wake up, just to roll over.
jamico
WE love ours!!! We have had it for about 2 years and would never go back to a regular matress. It is firm but you get used to it and know we don't wake up with achy backs. As far as getting to warm...I just use one less cover now...not a big deal. I am such a nerd I can't go anywhere without my Temp. pillow!! Well worth the xtra money!
