jenniferw72 Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 I was just curious to know how soon you start listening to Christmas music? My husband thinks I am crazy because the first bit of cold weather we have I have Christmas music on. I love it. It's my favorite time of year. Christmas music and Gotta Deal go hand in hand.
Christy Garner Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Usually around thanksgiving time. To me, that is when the Christmas season starts along with BF.
mgmckny Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Um, Was I supposed to stop listening to Christmas music after Dec 25 last year??? I didn't get that memo. LOL. Seriously, I listen to Christmas whenever I'm feeling really down all year long. Helps me put life back in perspective or something like that.
doublehsmom Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 I have been slowly getting songs stuck in my head already but I think that I'm going to get the music out the week before thanksgiving when I put my tree up..
Guest Macrossmaster Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 November 1st. Because there are Halloween songs, but no Thanksgiving songs. Plus the 4 gigs of Christmas on my iPod needs to be heard sometime. I can't tell you how awesome the drive around town is with that thing hooked up to the stereo. All Christmas, all the time, no repeats. :)

msdarkness Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 I started the end of sept..but I only do it when DH is at work or he will never let me live it down but as soon as Nov 1st is here it will be played all day
berry1014 Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 When ever I am in the mood year long. Then when sept/oct hits I start listening even more.
Rockfordmom Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Glad to know that I'm not the only one that starts listening to it in Oct:)
auntsister Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 I just started last night! I have been making lists, started my Christmas journal filled with gift ideas, starting menus and recipes for baking so I am already in the mood! My son always gets upset whan I put away his favorite Christmas song, "Santa Baby" after Christmas. I love Christmas but as soon as the day is over I am ready to take down the tree and put all my stuff away. I will start decorating in mid November though!
jarerice Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 LOL... Very close to Christmas,. I'm not a big Jingle Bell fan.
linda_loo Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 After Thanksgiving. I teach beginning band, and if I am not careful, I get an earful of it every half hour of every day... now, I refuse to assign or hear them play one until after Thanksgiving break. I just can't take Jingle Bells in October.
Bunniq Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 I listen all year. Just whenever the mood hits me, but during the holidays I tend to listen daily.
conj Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 when the kids start singing it (or playing it in band)
Ivetico Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 The easy listening station plays 24-hrs of holiday music during the 4-day Thanksgiving weekend. I LOVE IT! I like to decorate the house the day after Thanksgiving (after doing BF, of course) -- hearing the music on the radio really puts me in the mood.
jade6700 Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 I started this past weekend. Normally I wait until after Halloween. But I just bought a new Christmas CD and had to listen to it.
stacy0479 Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 I will start listening when XM starts playing it. Last year they started in late October. I don't know if they are playing it yet or not.
coleman4905 Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Thanksgiving day here for me,..i've always put up the tree on Thanksgiving,..it gives the kids something to do after we eat,..we eat around 1p.m. and by like 5 there bored so we put the tree up and decorate the house and get ready for BF. I go first to shop and then take the kids towards evening to do alittle of their shopping,..the 2 youngest like to head to the dollar store to get gifts and the oldest helps them wrap, then we put a few things under the tree..
BF in Iowa Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 I call the radio station and ask them to play a Christmas song or three for those of us heading to the Black Friday deals (the overnight staff adore anyone who calls them to break the monotony, I think!) - then I listen as I drive. That's the official start for me!
freesia39 Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 i wish they'd start soon! i remember one year they started in october, and it's nearly november and they haven't started yet! when i can't find anything on the radio, i love flipping over to christmas songs.
PeachieKeen Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 To be honest I'd listen year round if everyone would let me.....I do sing jingle bells year round....just can't help it...:)
mcapel4444 Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Hmmm. I thought I replied to this ? already, but it's not showing it. I love Christmas music! I'm trying to find out when our one radio station will flip, to all holiday music. 2 years ago, they started Nov 1st, but apparantly some people complained. Last year, I think they waited til closer to Thanksgiving. I would so have it playing in the car now, but my cd's are all packed up with the decorations.
Princess7915 Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Day after Thanksgiving. I don't like to be rushed through all the other holidays. As much as I love Christmas, it feels like it's Fourth of July then Christmas--nothing in between anymore!
chilimak Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Usually sometime in November before Thanksgiving. I've noticed that the premium movie channels are already showing Christmas movies. I noticed both Prancer and Jack Frost were on yesterday. I figure, I only have about 2 months out of the year to be able to play Christmas music and watch Christmas movies w/o dh giving me a hard time. I will listen occasionally to Christmas music in early November, but the closer it gets to Thanksgiving, the more I play, lol. Elena
Jen198 Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 YES!!!!! I turned on Music Choice and they are now playing Christmas music!!!! I am sooo HAPPY! If you have Comcast..Put on music choice! My are is channel #501 Souns of the seasons. Jen
miller205 Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 About 3 weeks ago!!!! My MP3 player is loaded this year with all my faves! I have quite a collection of Christmas CD's and movies. It is great. One of our local radio stations starts doing 24/7 Christmas music today 11/1!! IDK...for me the holiday season is too full of good things and too short so I like to make the most of it!!
leefamily23 Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 Right around Nov 20th we have 2 radio stations that will go all Christmas music all the time until 12/26. So, that will probably be when I truly start. Now, I've enjoyed going to our one local grocery store had some on 2 nights ago- and I just stood and listened. My husband and I twice last week got into rounds of christmas carols while doing our chores- so I'm chomping at the bit.
