Kohls has been one of my first black friday stops for the past several years. It doesn't matter if you walk in the door right at opening time, by the time you get your things, even if you race to get them, there will be a long line already. Alot of people have someone stand in line as soon as they get in the door, and then the others go and get their things that way they can get through the line quicker. I am usually by myself on black friday and I always end up way back at the doors to the entrance and have to go around the entire store to get to a register. I think my husband may be going with me this year, so he just might have to be MY line holder.

I did the same thing last year. The Wednesday before BF my friend and I went to Kohls. I wanted some of the rugs that were on sale on BF and didn't want to be bothered about how to lug an 8x10 rug around the store, while I was trying to shop for all my other stuff, plus stand in the ridiculously long line. They were posting all the signs while we shopped and we were able to get the BF sale price when we left. It was wonderful. (We did the same thing at Target also, and then on BF I took my receipt in and got a price adjustment.) I plan to do the same thing this year. It's just one less place to worry about getting what you want before it's gone, or beating the crowd.

I don't think he even read your e-mail. I got a very similar response back from him after I e-mailed him. They probably have about 2 or 3 different generic e-mails to respond. I really think they don't care what we have to say.

I am now even madder at them than I was before. I can't believe them. Here is what I e-mailed Mr. Slimey, I have just viewed the comments made in reference to GottaDeal.com and the "Cherry Picker" customers we have been identified as. I am very disgusted with Wal-Mart at this point and I am ready to take my business elsewhere. I simply don't understand what the big secret is. Aren't those ads to entice customers to your store?? Don't you want people to WANT to come to Wal-Mart. Remember, people don't just go to Wal-Mart for Black Friday. Most Wal-Mart customers do the majority of their shopping their, for groceries, etc. I don't understand why this has become such a big issue. If the ad is out, it's out, BIG DEAL!! All the more customers for you. It's free publicity, which puts money in your pockets. You are giving the message that you don't need customers. I'm afraid Wal-Mart may be losing out this year, especially when other stores (like Target) have their ads posted and yours is not. People's money will already be spoken for before your sale is ever made public, and I'm sorry to say, at that point, you've already lost. I don't think very many will be rearranging their plans and trying to come up with more money. You may have underestimated the amount of visitors websites like GottaDeal have. Not only are people viewing it on those websites, but they are relaying it to their friends, families, neighbors, co-workers, blogs, webpages, myspace, etc. Some have even called their local news and had news reports done on their dissatisfaction. It's a Wonderful Life is my favorite. We also like A Christmas Story. We just got that one on DVD last week at Target for 10.00. There is a joke in our family about National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. My father in law looks a little like Clark Griswald and acts even more like him. So much sometimes it's scary. There are many funny family stories about things he has done, not only with Christmas and trees, but throughout the year. My kids always like to watch this movie, they always ask "when can we watch Pop-Pop's movie?"

I sent an email and never received a response back. I called today and got Susan at Sarah Clark's office, who was definitely annoyed that I was another caller about BF. She said they were only reminding them of the legal aspects of the trade secrets and copywrights. I informed her that I thought it was ridiculous and that it only brings Wal-Mart more publicity and that I may not be shopping there this year at all if the ad is posted and they follow through. She said she would pass this on, but I kind of got the feeling she may be tired of doing that.

Thanksgiving weekend. If people didn't think I was crazy, I'd do it right now!! Forget Halloween, bring on Christmas!

I was just curious to know how soon you start listening to Christmas music? My husband thinks I am crazy because the first bit of cold weather we have I have Christmas music on. I love it. It's my favorite time of year. Christmas music and Gotta Deal go hand in hand.

White lights. I guess you could call this one our grown up tree. I am also obsessed with making it look perfect. we have another tree in our sunroom that we let the kids do their thing on, usually with colored lights and all their homemade ornaments. It also looks really nice and lets us showcase their beautiful artwork!

Real!!! Family outing to the tree farm, Christmas card picture, and tree decorating all in one day!!! We have 3 trees in our house, but we do have a fake one in one room.

My son who is 9 just asked this summer and I knew by the look on his face, he already knew. He was sworn to secrecy for his 6 year old sister, and 3 year old brother so it will not be ruined for them. They all of course know the real meaning of Christmas, but it is so fun to have "Santa". I will be really sad when there is no more Santa. When my son was 7 he and his friend were playing hide and seek and went into the basement (which they never do because it isn't finished yet), where my Christmas stash is hiding, and found wrapped presents that had some of their names on from Santa. He and his friend wanted to know why there were presents down there from Santa. I came up with the quickest thing I could think of and said that Santa had trouble finding some things and asked me to pick them up??!! I immediately called my husband at work and told him what had happened, panicking that already, Santa may be over for him. He had one of the guys he works with call and my son happened to answer the phone. He said This is Santa, I saw you in the basement and sometimes there are presents I just can't find and your mom and dad have to help me out a little." HE TRUELY BELIEVED HE WAS TALKING TO SANTA!!!! That was all he talked about for the next few months. I think that bought us another 2years anyway. (DId I mention that I had to re-wrap, every other present that was down there, except what was on the top of the pile that I knew they saw, so they didn't remember seeing all the same wrapping paper under the tree on Christmas morning). The things parents do for their children!!

I am looking for one for my 3 1/2 year old. My husband made the one we have 8 years ago when my oldest son was little. We are due for a new one. I have seen them clearanced online at Walmart also. They had some for 288.00 and 350.00.
