madnmas Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 BF is usually like a coupon...you probably don't need the item but b/c you think you are getting a good deal it is bought anyway resulting in money lost over an item that is not a necessity.
he8765 Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 So far I'm disappointed. Nothing worth going to KMart for on either T'giving Day or BF. Let's hope that the deals will start to get better...
hoopysgirl Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I guess I am glad Kmart didn't have anything worthwhile - now I shouldn't have to worry about how to hit that store also! Hopefully the other stores will be better!
Mursilis Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I'm just disappointed more ads aren't out yet! Unfortunately, I'm not known for my patience!!
J_Man Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I won't be disappointed unless I see Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, and some of the other stores having nothing I want. I haven't ever seen anything at K-Mart that's made it worth my time to go over for in the years I've been going. I don't even know if I have and Ace store in town since I've never attempted to go to one.
kboyts Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I was fairly dissapointed with the kmart ad. But then again I've never bought anything from Kmart on black friday and rarely go there any other time of the year either so its not that big of a disapointment afterall.
juanadeal Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 I'm dissapointed with the Kmart ad but just because they had what I wanted and saved me a trip to Best Buy last year.
johjstc Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 K-Mart never has anything good. I've never been to a K-Mart on Black Friday. We usually head to Walmart or Toys R Us
Novac Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 I've never been to a K-Mart on Black Friday.Neither have I, but I usually drop my DW off there on my way to OM across the street.
Princess7915 Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 I am hoping this year is far better than BF 2005. Normally I can get at least 60% of my shopping done...last year I was lucky to have finished 30% on BF. I think the items on sale just were not that great and the sale prices were nothing to write home about. If this year is like 2005, I may be hanging up my BF hat.
nickied527 Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 I can't believe the LACK of ads so far! Looking at the dates in which the ads came out last yr, we are behind! I mean, Walmart was out 2 weeks ago last year. I haven't seen anything I want in the ads that have been released! Come on Walmart ,BB, and Target!
tootsieroll23 Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 I haven't seen anything of real interest yet. As usual though I am holding out for Best Buy, Circuit City, and Staples. I think our needs have changed as the kids have gotten older.
SoCalCyclist Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 YEA! I need some deals on an XBOX 360 and some games!
MrPenny Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Major disappointment. I have a feeling this year will be the big let down year. We all get pumped for this and sooner or later there was bound to be a year where we all just shook our heads and said, "I don't see anything of great value this year." I hope they prove me wrong.
hhockman Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 I'm with you guys about being disappointed about which ads are out. Seems awfully late to me. I don't care about the ones out now. Even Sears isn't a big deal. Like you all, I'm waiting for Target, BB, and CC. I don't even know where there is a Kmart around here.

littlemama Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Are there any KMarts in Texas? I tried the store locater feature on their website, and it said there weren't any. Theirs deals were bad anyway.
g-man430 Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Wow, you guys should really read this before you make assumptions. This is going to be one of the best BF's ever in terms of sales: http://money.cnn.com/2006/11/02/news/economy/retail_sales/index.htm?cnn=yes

This is going to be one of the best BF's ever in terms of sales: http://money.cnn.com/2006/11/02/news/economy/retail_sales/index.htm?cnn=yes Yep, that's what I think also. Would like to see more ads by now, but still 3 weeks away.
littlemama Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Yep, that's what I think also. Would like to see more ads by now, but still 3 weeks away.I predict that Wal-Mart is going to wait until like Nov. 23 or almost the day before and come out with some CRAZY deals. They are probably waiting to see what everybody else has and then underprice them.
misshayley Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 The only reason I am disappointed so far is because the WM, BB and Target ads haven't been leaked yet
schwoozer Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Well, that Office Max ad was a whole bunch of nothing in my opinion. I remember they used to have fantastic sales, not just on BF, but all year round (around, say, two years ago). Now, because they eliminated rebates, prices are much, MUCH worse for those of us who didn't mind the rebates. I haven't bought anything from them for as long as I can remember. With Best Buy also going no rebates, I'm bracing for the worst from their ad too.
g-man430 Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 I wonder if a lot of these companies are waiting until they see what wal-mart's BF add looks like before deciding on their final price of these items.
littlemama Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 I wonder if a lot of these companies are waiting until they see what wal-mart's BF add looks like before deciding on their final price of these items.Yeah, or wal-Mart is waiting on them. It's like a big game of chicken or something. Who's gonna draw their gun first? Hey, there isn't a cowboy smiley! I tried to find one drawing its gun.
Marcster Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Hey, there isn't a cowboy smiley! arrowpolisher Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Yes, I am not really seeing anything that makes me want to get out of bed super early and stand out in the freezing cold.
my3bellas Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I have been shopping black friday for almost eight years and it seems that the ads are not as exciting as they use to be. Gotta deal is not only for black friday but excellent for everyday deals that seems more exciting. I have found a lot of deals and save quite a bit over the last year. But on the other hand the big ads, like best buy and walmart have not come out yet and they are the worst to go to. I don't think I am ready to start standing in line 5:00 pm the night before. I give people credit who do. Well see:yup:
sm1kla Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I'm so torn - I don't know if I'm disappointed. I love the sneak peaks & I feel I'm becoming compulsive each time I check back - I think I've become addicted to this site -- but I think my mind is rejecting them --there's just something about diving into the Thanksgiving paper to see the colorful ads. I guess I'm a victim of marketing & advertising.
elena_398 Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 So far there is nothing Im running to in any of the ads. Still excited about BF in general, but disappointed that there is nothing for me or my family so far
