RossMAN Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 It seems the emphasis is usually on computers, electronics, toys and tools. What about furniture?
cotejb Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 I'm buying some furniture on Veteran's day weekend (around the 11th) That's when they are gonna have a big sale. I'm not sure if Furniture Row does a Black Friday sale.
stationchief Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Yeah, dunno if any of the major furniture stores ever have BF deals or not. I am lookin' for a new computer desk for my future BF desktop, though.
RossMAN Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 I am lookin' for a new computer desk for my future BF desktop, though. Same here, even a nice L desk without glass surface would be perfect.
Marcster Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 OfficeMax always seems to have a fabric office chair deal at a blowout price.
NeepNeep Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Last piece of furniture I bought on BF was an entertainment center, at K-Mart, in 2002. I think it retailed for $200 and it was on sale for $80. Had to have something to place the 32" TV on, that I had picked up at BB about a half an hour earlier... :)
Novac Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 I'm guessing furniture could probably be the last stop of the day, since you'd have to go home and clear out your other purchases anyway. Is there really going to be a rush at the furniture store to be one of the lucky 10 people to buy that oak table for half price? Maybe. I certainly wouldn't know :)
vonnyb Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Thanks for reminding me about Veterans Day sales. I need furniture for my basement and want to get a good deal on it. I have never looked for furniture on BF not sure what kind of deals they would have.
Gurnee Al Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Interesting idea, but no. We tend to get our furniture either during other sales or while on clearance.
ssf Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 It would be nice to find a nice console table at a good price..:)
elena_398 Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I dont' need furniture. Have too much right now. Im actually going to be helping out my brother in law as he just moved to an apartment and has nothing. I have an extra recliner, lamps, and end table. So no furniture for me :)
Tracy72 Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 If Walmart has there suede rockers with ottoman on sale I am most definately getting on...I need 2....lol..
bayhaysay Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 The only furniture that I really need right now is a new chair for the computer desk. So yeah, if there's a good deal on one somewhere I'll get it.
pamlet Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Years ago I worked in furniture retail ... unless things have changed GREATLY ... it's a VERY slow time of year.... There's a bump in dining room stuff over Veteran's day - in prep for Thanksgiving... Then for Christmas... only very specific things would sell.. Rocking Chairs Recliners Hope Chests Gun Cabinets ..... That's about it ... I could see how entertainment centers might be added to it - now that "console" TV's aren't the norm....
SuperMommy Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 We just got all new furniture when we bought our new house in March. Though I will be on the lookout for pictures, frames, candles, & other accessories.
mrn8 Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 We're looking for a nice recliner, but that will probably just happen when the local furniture place has a good sale. They aren't really known for their BF sales, but they have decent stuff during the last couple of weeks of each fiscal quarter.
Scott Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I could really use a nice L shaped desk as well. My big problem is that I need room for 2x20" LCD to be really happy. :) I "may" settle for one 24" wide display though...
copados1993 Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 I wish Raymour and Flannigan had a huge BF sale. I'm in need of a new bedroom set for my DD. Love to get a great deal!!
Cecilliadb Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 I am looking for a sale all the way up threw the new year to get us a new bed frame, and we need a little twin frame for our son since the new baby will be coming. So....yes, if I see anything and don't have what I want already :)
Spotted1 Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 If it was priced right, I probably would at least consider it.
mimiman76 Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 I've scoured the ads to find any couches/loveseats/chairs for BF, however, I have found nothing...I'm looking to replace an uncomfortable and old leather set. Our baby is do soon, and we wanted to upgrade some things before things get too expensive... Any and all help is appreciated! FYI we live in vegas and prefer to shop locally or at least be able to see the furniture in person!
tranced Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Hi I just got my first apartment and Was looking to fill it up with some furniture... Anybody see any furniture deals on any ADS for blackfriday? I remember seeing a bar table with stools but I scanned every ad and cant see it again.. any of you notice anything?
mimiman76 Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 ME TOO! Posted this 3 days ago http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=55857
