I just called Funai today about this. Wal-Mart will be carrying two brands, SV2000 and Symphonic, depending on the model.Source?

It was a Symphonic brand, not Durabrand. They blitzed the 23" Durabrand tube model last year for $99 and my WalMart spent about 3 months trying to get rid of them all (after they dropped them to $88).

Yep, our Walmart had them for months after. I don't know how long they got before they finally sold them all.
But the 7" Durabrand portable DVD players and 15" Symphonic LCD TVs all went in about 30 minutes.
Yep, the LCDs were sold very quickly. I only noticed them because they were right beside the computer last year.
So unless the TV is a flat screen or LCD, it's not going to be worthwhile.
I have my fingers crossed that they will have one or the other. We need a new tv for our room.

Fixed.
Yep, my supercenter still had them for $88 when I got one of them in June of this year.

It was a Symphonic brand, not Durabrand.
Thanx for correcting it.

I originally had Symphonic in my post, but changed it right before posting and after looking at the 2005 ad listing ('cuz I couldn't remember the LCD brands).

I've bought TV's and DVD players at Walmart on BF and have never had any problems with them. I bought the first DVD's Walmart sold on BF years ago and it works better then the one I paid $400 for.
Tell me about it I bought a DVD player for around $300 a couple of years ago and I have found a lot of Dvd's will not play right on it I am guessing because of copyright protection schemes. But the one that I bought at a Blitz for $30 or less worked with all the dvds right away. I was wondering if Wal-Mart is doing away with the Lay-A-Way this year for Black Friday what this will mean for the big ticket items. If you have to pay for it right then or at the least put it on credit what will the availability of high priced items be. Just wondering. Thank You.

I see people walking out the door with three or more tvs every year. It is rather shocking to watch them go. I remember when they did the DVD players and people were ripping the plastic off of them in a frenzy. Saw one lady fill up two carts with them and her son had 4 tvs set aside. Scary!
It is scary to watch them go get all those deals I really think that they should limit the amount that people should be able to buy of the big items. Also when you see those people at the start running it just looks almost like a riot.

Its ending for ALL Wal-marts..No more layaway. I wished they had looked at it as individule stores instead of as a whole.I asked about layaway at my local Walmart and they said NO for BF

I would never buy a TV for BF from walmart, cheap cheap cheap and they've been handled like the crap that they are.
I agree with ya...
