  1. Just saw that Kmart will be having cabbage patch on sale...makes it look like walmart will also have one.
  2. i say that one BF theme will be movie themed games....I am seeing them coming out on shelves everywhere...and in bulk...
  3. The Big Book also shows up online, I believe, under the ads section. I could be wrong.
  4. I would love a laptop for school...getting back into the game and it would help so much. My hubby uses his for so much and I would love to have his mobility and be able to take it to school...makes note taking so much easier. Of course a PDA with keyboard would be nice too...hopefully he gets on this forum to read this...gave him the links.
  5. We buy an electronic gift for our girls every year and our youngest is making us draw a blank. We are getting the Fly pen for the oldest, so maybe the GB upgrade might be a good option...of course anything that is educational and fun is better.

    Layaway?

I have never heard of Target and layway. I asked once and I got a very snobby reply of "we are not a walmart type store, we do not lower our standards and do layway..." Oh well...
  7. we had a recent super target open near us and I am afraid to go there this BF due to the madness I know will ensue. Good luck to those who venture into the newest stores!
  8. Please, if possible, take in mind those people who physically can't get to the stores on Black Friday. I always make sure to take at least one shut-in's list and buy for them so they get the good deals as well. They are usually on a tight budget and the deals help them stretch their holiday dollar even more.
  9. I am hitting Target second unless their deals are better than Walmart. I usually hit the two marts (wal and k) and the target depending on traffic levels and deals. I think kmart is just going down hill..but I did get the sewing machine my daughter wanted last year for 20 bucks, normally 49.99. I also have a Christmas Arts and Craft show going on that weekend....hopefully will have almost all my shopping done that weekend. BTW...remember those people who physically can't go out shopping that day. I always shop for someone who is shut in on BF. I get their list on Thanksgiving when I visit and then put their stuff in with mine. That way, they get the good deals as well.
  10. Yeah, I have cingular, and in the back of the store, its gone. On reporting news...I went to two walmarts this weekend and noticed that the garden areas have lots of those large remote control cars/trucks put up. I wonder if those are going to be like the Hummers last year and become a blitz object. Too bad I am not inthe market for those. The boys I shop for are much smaller or too big for them. But a heads up to those looking...
  11. I can never bring myself to buy the new game systems when they first come out. I usually wait until my hubby picks it up overseas where he is located. The best part, Europe usually gets the new systems a few months before they land in the states, so I never have to worry about having it here in time for Christmas.

    Coupon?

Ours has never had a problem with the e-mail coupons. As a matter of fact, they were very happy to honor it and told me that I was one of a select few that brought them in for the 12 days of Christmas items. Made me feel like I was a great comparrison shopper...20 dollar MP3 players made me look like a cool mom for my two last year.
  13. I see people walking out the door with three or more tvs every year. It is rather shocking to watch them go. I remember when they did the DVD players and people were ripping the plastic off of them in a frenzy. Saw one lady fill up two carts with them and her son had 4 tvs set aside. Scary!
  14. Ours is open, but they kind of discourage people on Thanksgiving by limiting the entrance after midnight. I know in KC they actually locked the doors until the sale was scheduled to go on. I was shocked that it wasn't as busy as the ones down here in Wichita.
  15. I just heard that our walmart in Wichita is going to be doing blitzes, but I haven't heard about our layways going away. Last year, I had my friend who is in a wheelchair stay in the line and I went and got her stuff for her. She didn't have to fit the crowds, and we didn't have a huge wait after everything was found on the list. Do have a question, has anyone got good phone reception in any of the walmarts? I continuly drop calls, can't get a signal, and it is frustrating since it would help so much during the big event.
  16. Sounds sad, but I already have two people on my list done. I shop year round and keep my ears and eyes open. I try and have most done before December 1st so all I have to do is get stocking stuffers and extra stuff that might go on sale that I forgot. December is such a crazy time of year anyways, so if I can not shop and just wrap presents then I am happy. I do take my kids on personal shopping days where its just me and one child at a time for the day. They have their budget and list and shop, we get to giggle together and just enjoy the day. I arrange a friend to take them shopping for me and that gives me a chance to run last minute errands and them a chance to surprise me. Last year I scored a bottle of perfume, a couple of shirts, and a beautiful masterpiece that they constructed at their friends house. Gotta love kids!!!
  17. Last year, if you were on the e-mail list, they had the 12 days of Christmas shopping sale. I managed to pick up mp3 players for my kids for under 20 bucks. I hope they bring that back. I was able to slip in at lunch time, pick up my items and get back to work with my kids none the wiser. They were not the high dollar mp3 players, but for an 8 and 6 year old, 20 songs was more thatn enough for them. I was also able to pick up a lot of toys for my nieces and nephews this way. K-mart had something similiar.
