Kandy Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Table Tennis.chatty doll, ans chest of drawers 1
BFGirl Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 The "Kotton Kandy" machine for $9.98 would have been fun! Being the geek that I am, I put that price into a inflation calculator and today is would cost $102.83. 2
Kash Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 (edited) Well I love those space saver racks for over the toilet and for $4.99 I’d have to get one. I also am in the market this Cheistmas for a couple bicycles. So I love the $29.98 20” bike! Edited October 31, 2024 by Kash 1
Kanyon71 Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 You know on second thought if I can get ALL that stuff brand new in the box today for those prices I will take the whole ad. Should be able to make a mint on eBay. 1 4
kellis4321 Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 I like the Camera outfit for 12.49. It comes in a hatbox!! 1

tjredsox4 Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 I like the ride on fire engine for $14.98 and the battery operated road race for $9.98 2
HanShotFirst Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 I'd have to pick the bicycle for sure! 1
giz Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 My older brothers had a similar battery operated road race that brings back great memories. I'd go for that again or the Kotton Kandy Machine. 1
gigglegabz Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 my favorite deal is the projection screen sale for $11.00! this is fitting because it would go great with the projector i’ve currently own, rather than using a white sheet. 2
mcwalker Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 I am going to go with the Samsonite Vanity for $19.95. I was four years old when this ad came out. My mother had one of these small pieces of hard luggage, which she referred to as a "train case (the common term of the time) for many years. It had trays for cosmetics and other personal items for women, and I believe a mirror inside the lid. During earlier days of train travel, women would check their larger luggage, but keep this handy for use during the trip--thus the name "train case." 1
Illinoismom Posted November 2, 2024 Posted November 2, 2024 We would love to sit and watch these all the time, Till the camcorder came out. which was huge back then. Oh the memories. 2
msyves Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 It’s the cotton candy machine for me. What’s a Christmas without some type of gift that’s about making some type of dessert. 1
tinkrbel Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 I like the Amazing Giant Sonic Robot, gives me Doctor Who Dalek vibes and I'm missing the old episodes with Matt Smith and David Tennant. 1
buxton.nc Posted November 3, 2024 Posted November 3, 2024 The Amazing Giant Sonic Robot for $5.98 looks like it would have been a fun toy to play with at that time. I find the ad interesting that all of the illustrations appear to be sketches or renditions of the products being advertised. I wonder if there was a lot of let down once you seen the products in person. 2
frugalnotcheap Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Oh, the camera outfit and the Ride-able Fire Engine. 1
skytrain Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 I like the robot that looks like rosie from the jetsons. 1
bodotdot Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Love the $5.98 Sonic Robot with the eerie sound. 1
packratfamily Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 I was going to say the camera. After all it comes with film. But I think I would go for the robot. The dogs would love to chase it around the room. I had to laugh at the hanging clothes rack. I have an old one downstairs near my washing machine -it’s probably that old too
lucyismycat Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 That cotton candy machine - which I am certain I have seen at yard sales even in these days, or that robot. I wonder how many items from our current Black Friday ads will still be around and working 62 years from now! (Probably not as many as the ones from this ad) 1
jesusluvu Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 A dresser for $5.99 and back then it probably was solid wood. I think I would go with the 43'' rideable firetruck. It would be worth about $ 800 today. 1
MariahA Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 That ridable Fire truck or the American Flyer train would be my kids' picks! That $5.99 chest of drawers sounds great to me. My preschooler's dresser broke and trying to find a reasonable price on a used or new one has been a bit ridiculous!
Pnambic Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 $24 Regulation size Table Tennis all the way baby!
mrsPookie Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 A table tennis table for $25? Now about $300. Wow. And yet the bikes were about $30. Can get one now for about $60.
abentley Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 The rideable fire engine for $14.98 for me!! Can you even imagine ? It would be made out of metal too!!
BFAddict716 Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 This made my day! The "update-to-date globes" for $5.99 was my favorite! They are no longer a common Christmas gift or Black Friday item for sure!

I see them sometimes in antique stores and can't imagine! $14.98 like a good price even then compared to some of the other toy items.

That was a big deal because he was not in charge of the shopping! I loved that globe! 2
