Brad Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Time for the next contest, and we're going back 13 years for this one...To be entered to win, browse the 2006 Target Black Friday ad posted below and post your pick for the best current deal in the ad. I will then randomly choose 15 members who entered and you'll win a Black Friday survival kit with the possibility of getting a mystery gift card or ultra-rare Black Friday t-shirt inside!Limit of one survival kit prize per member but if you have already won you are still welcome to enter future contests for fun.For more info on the Black Friday survival kits we're giving away this year (including the bonus mystery prizes inside), see this thread. 1
angelbabymommy Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Just for fun: I would LOVE that Kitchen Aid stand mixer for $159. I have 2 family members who will be getting them as gifts this year and that price would love to pay that lol I already purchased one 5qt from QVC for $250 w/ 6 easy payments. Not sure if that was a deal or not lol
mcwalker Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 All of the items on the front page and many other items in the ad are outdated technology now, and DVDs of those movies are all probably in the $2 bin now. I will go with the $65 Singer sewing machine on page 2. That is a pretty timeless item and a decent price for a compact light duty sewing machine.
bossy1 Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 ALready won but love the contests so here's my pick. pg 22 6 1/2 foot prelit tree with free wreath 29.88.. that's about the same savings as you would get today.
Bopeep Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 (edited) I'd go with the Barbies. That's a decent deal, especially for 2 dolls and the horse and carriage. Also, the air mattress on page 14 seems like a decent price. You know, I actually see several deals in this ad that would be a good deal today. *already won Edited October 25, 2019 by Bopeep

momlori Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 I have already won but my pick would be the LEGO Knights set for 59.99
atipton129 Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 I would say the air hockey table on page 14 for $39.88
Kanyon71 Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Motorola 2-pk rechargeable FRS radios for $29 seems pretty good.
chachn8r Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 The 6 piece luggage set on page 14 for $59.99 is an awesome deal
MariahA Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 I'd have to say the Lego set or Barbie deals. And I wish I could've found Cars bedding that cheap new
Elmck Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 I have already won but my pick would be the LEGO Knights set for 59.99 I would definitely get this for one of my grandsons. I already won too but this was a fun one
okannie Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Kitchen aid mixer for $159 would be the best deal if it was posted today
angelbabymommy Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Check walmart for one I know in my area they have been clearence down to $99 $99
giz Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 *already won Page 13: Star Wars transformers $15 ;-)
tracy0504 Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 The singer sewing machine for $65 and the pre-lit Christmas tree and wreath combo for under $30
redeyejay Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 I picked the pre-lit tree for $29.88 plus a free wreath! Pretty much the same deal you would see today although it might be LED. Love this contest! It was fun looking at the old ad. Thanks!
colemandawn4905 Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 The 17.88 queen air mattress is an awesome price! I’d like to grab one of those lol I’m digging the flip phone for 38 cuz I bet at that time that phone was amazing. Lol
smurfgirl Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 I’d go for the sheets for $19.99, the air mattress and the digital frame. If memory serves me correctly I believe I purchased that digital frame back in 2006.
len_mullen Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Great contest. Are we going to do this EVERY Friday? So much has changed in 13 years. Maybe time for people to stop complaining about the ads? TVs and DVDs are relatively expensive. The best deals were on low tech gifts. The Star Wars/Transformers toys would be a great deal today. Kitchen appliances look to be about what Kohls will charge this year. The best deal in that flyer is the $29.88 6 1/2 foot pre-lit tree. Let's do an old Kohls flyer next! 1
Brad Posted October 26, 2019 Author Posted October 26, 2019 One of the best current deals in the ad might be the Nintendo DS Lite system. Those older systems in sealed condition can sell to collectors for quite a bit more than they did when they were new.
Hartcollectibles Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 the air hockey table on page 14 for $39.88
mjbateman Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 I would say the Singer Sewing Machine. That is a great price.
likehome Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 $38 flip phone...had to find one for an elderly relative and spent more than that! Also Lego's, Barbie's and air hockey table! BTW...I NEED a GD popsocket (please, please, please!)
BFAddict716 Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 This was so much fun! I love looking at old ads. I would say the Shark Stick Vac on page 25 for $10. I would love to find a Shark vaccum of any type for $10!
speeddiva Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 The $3.99 pre school board games! Do they get that cheap anymore? I haven’t had to buy little kid toys in 18 years.
vkozlowski0419 Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 This is a fun contest! And makes me feel old! I’d say the best deal is the LEGO set for 49.99! Legos haven’t gone down in price at all over the past 13 years. 1
stina629 Posted October 27, 2019 Posted October 27, 2019 Y’all are gonna think I’m crazy, but the $3.99 preschool board games!!! I actually bought Cooties at Target one of the first years I ever did Black Friday. My friends at work and I had a blast playing it, felt like we were kids again!
